28 History Time

Dai approaches the Static Stone.

He closes his eyes.

Breathes deeply.

He raises his arm, opening his hand aiming towards the Stone.

...

He opens his eyes.

"Hm - ha !" Dai shouts with effort.

...

...

"Nothing happened" I say.

"Hehe... I just... I haven't used this method in a while" Dai says.

"It doesn't matter, you can use the basic method" Asil says.

"All right…"

He raises his arm again.

...

"Reflector Shield!" Dai shouts.

A magenta light beam comes out of his hand.

Hits the Stone.

The light is dispersed through the crystal of the Stone, changing its color.

"It worked?" I ask.

" Yes, look out the window" Elin responds.

I approach the window.

"I don't see anything" I say.

"Seriously?" Elin asks.

"It's normal, she's not used to the energy, it'll take her a while to see it that easily" Asil says.

"Oh, it's true, I didn't remember"

Asil approaches Dai.

"Good job, Daisuke, I'm glad you got to learn it"

"Thanks" Dai answers flattered.

"It seems that my work here is over. Elin, Daisuke, Kuno, thanks for the help and for taking care of Alexandria, someday I will reward you"

"No problem, Commander!" Kuno says while bowing.

"It's nothing" Elin says with a smile.

"I hope so!" Dai answers greedily.

"Alexandria, you should start reading the books I gave you as soon as possible and practice"

"I will!" I respond energetically.

"Very well, I'll come back when I have something new"

"Excuse me, Commander, how will you know where we are?" Elin asks.

"With the Remote Location over Alexandria"

"Oh, okay"

"See you soon!"

Multiple blue-magenta light rays begin to surround him until it is completely covered.

He disappears, leaving behind only small particles.

"Amazing…" I say amazed by the teleportation.

"So that's what I detected" Kuno says.

"Hm?"

"Since you returned I noticed something weird on you, but I couldn't figure what it was"

"I didn't notice anything" Elin says.

"Me neither" Dai says.

*sigh* Kuno sighs disappointed.

"That was Asil's energy?" I ask.

"Yes, it's very difficult to detect. I didn't expect less from someone like him"

...

...

"Now what?" I ask.

"I'm going to level up" Dai leaves the room.

"I'll visit Nao" Elin also leaves.

"I have to go to work" Kuno leaves.

'Suddenly, I'm alone... I should go for the backpack that Asil gave me'

I go down the stairs.

I grab the backpack and go to the living room.

I sit on the couch and start to take the books out of the backpack.

'Energy: essentials... Support Magic... Why Focus on One Class?... Skills 101... Health and Magic... Elemental Magic... PARANE- are you kidding? Xenon In Short, it's like dad's book, but smaller. Xenon vs Zenon... Xenon Kitchen... Starting in Magic... That's it'

I see the books.

'I think I'll start with some history'

I grab the book Xenon In Short.

'It is the smallest of all'

I open it.

'Authors... Notes... Introduction... It begins here'

Today, Xenon is the government of the entire civilization of the planet, we even call our dimension Xenon after the discovery of Zenon, but it was not always like that. There had to be many fights, wars and revolutions to get where we are now.

'Let's see...'

Going back to the first thing we know, Xenon was one of the first civilizations in history. Since they created their first community 2019 years ago, we started counting the years.

'Here is similar too'

There is not much information about the first 700 years of Xenon because the first found writings were made in the 8th century. They talk about the problems they faced at that time, such as lack of food, trade with other civilizations and diseases.

In the 12th century, the first Great Armed War took place, where the newly invented firearms were used. Millions of people died in it, being the deadliest in history. Its origin is due to the long confrontation between all the civilizations caused by the differences of their beliefs. The drop that spilled the glass was the great massacre in the Zoriam empire , called The Inculpated Massacre because the Oxiris civilization accused Xenon of doing so, but no evidence was found.

'Wars are stupid'

The allied civilizations of Zoriam attacked Xenon, causing the friendly civilizations of Xenon to attack back. After 17 years of constant fighting, Xenon and his allies (called Valor) defeated Zoriam and his allies (called Order), making them surrender after a great fight won thanks to the perfect strategy of General Fredrick. After the war, it took civilizations several decades to stabilize.

The next great event happened two centuries later, in the year 1483, called the Red Epidemic, the worst epidemic that has suffered Xenon. This disease, called Red Tear, was discovered by scientists while testing on animals and different chemical elements and substances. Realizing how dangerous it was, they decided to keep it in a vault and never talk about it.

After the famous robbery to the Xenon Academy, the thieves stole everything that was inside the vault, including the Red Tear. Believing that it was some kind of drug, they began selling it illegally to the population. This, together with the fact that it was a very contagious disease, caused it to expand incredibly fast.

'I wonder what that robbery was like...'

The entire kingdom had to go into quarantine until a cure was discovered. It is estimated that around 26% of the Xenon population died.

'Wow! That's a lot'

And even with the help of all civilizations, the cure was discovered until 1490, seven years after the beginning of the epidemic, by the scientist Talsten (his statue is still in the Academy). Thanks to the great support that Xenon received, in a few years it had already returned to normal.

Just after discovering the cure, the scientists took advantage of the recognition made to them to manifest together with the population against the king to give greater importance to science. Under pressure, the king was forced to accept, and so the Scientific Revolution began.

'That's good'

The following centuries were full of discoveries and great scientific advances, including magic.

Magic was discovered in the year 1569, when scientists found strange energy emissions while experimenting with humans. By forcing a person into stress, the machines they used to measure different things on the body, such as temperature or blood pressure, began to show readings totally out of place. They realized that this was because large amounts of energy affected their operation.

After several years of failed experiments, scientists were about to give up when they finally managed to make a person concentrate that energy in a specific area of the body, causing a red sphere to come out of her hand, which caused a small explosion.

'Interesting...'

That person was Liza Raelynn, a young homeless woman who would later create the Xenon Magic School in 1602, now called Xenon School, winning multiple awards and recognitions. She died at the age of 104, in the year 1682.

'She lived a lot'

Elemental Magic was discovered in the year 1658, when scientists found in the genes of several people DNA sequences separated from the main sequences, which contained such strange and exotic properties that they could not tell exactly what their function was. But it was not until 1739 that they were able to connect for the first time these sequences.

These connections allowed the release of Elemental Energy, a combination of normal energy and energy generated by the new cells, called Xen.

'Then, Elemental Magic exists by genetic modifications...'

Subsequent generations born with these sequences already connected, so there is no need to connect them again.

Taking advantage of the Magic being discovered only by Xenon, the king took the decision to betray civilizations to gain control of the entire planet.

'Really? Son of a...'

In the year 1808, the king created the Xenon Army, made up of the best xenon at the time, to attack civilizations in 1810, starting the Great World War.

The civilizations, surprised and overcomed by the great power of magic, surrendered and accepted being reigned by Xenon. By the year 1821, there was no other civilization other than Xenon.

'...'

While the war was going on, in Xenon Zosin Lynur was, the first person with a fusion of all the elements, which they called Thunderstorm because it threw rays and generated large amounts of electricity. The scientists were amazed by the great amount of energy and power that he had, so a few years later he was asked to allow some experiments on him to find out more information and he accepted.

For some unknown reason, Zosin lost his eyesight and sanity few years later, acting aggressively against anyone. On April 13 of the year 1840, the Xenon Army faced Zosin, who had attacked innocent people for no reason, including the king's son.

The army could not defeat Zosin, losing hundreds of soldiers. After several hours, Zosin was seriously wounded and committed suicide with a big explosion in the middle of the city, killing thousands of people.

'I don't know what to think... Could that happen to me?'

Due to this event and to the little knowledge of the reasons why it happened, the king made the decision to forbid the relations that could generate the Thnderstorm fusion and the people, frightened by what had just happened, accepted it without problems.

The year 1849 is considered as the beginning of the Xenon Revolution, since Adgar Boe wrote multiple articles and books talking about values, mind, death and politics, first making people talk freely about their beliefs and opinions.

By the year 1897, people decided to manifest to make a change, but the king did not accept. The people, angry, began to make protests all over Xenon, but the king continued to ignore their demands. Furious, Xenon starts a war against the king. Thousands of people died, but in the end, the king is killed in the year 1901.

'A change is good, but...'

That same year the first president is elected, promising a better quality of life and the division of Xenon into multiple states governed by its own people.

'That's good'

As of that year, technology begins to advance at an exponential rate, today it still does, so we can say that we are in the Technological Revolution.

The last major event occurred in 1915, when the Liza Portal, named after the founder of the Xenon School, was discovered in the depth of the ocean within some ruins. It is not yet known how it is possible that it exists.

At first it was believed that it teleported to another planet, but after rigorous scientific and magical studies, it was determined that it is almost completely sure to be a dimension parallel to ours.

The government publishes a survey for the population to decide the name of the two dimensions, winning Xenon and Zenon by far.

Although the government did not allow it, the people applied enough pressure and in 1922 the law was changed to allow Zenon to travel, as long as strict requirements and a long waiting list were met.

'So that's how they travel between Xenon and Zenon... There should be a portal here too'

We hope that you, reader, contribute to Xenon-

'It ends there'
