179 Please, Let Me Go
"I don't want to hurt her. "
This was one of the most tormenting statements she still had to hear from him now and in the future.
"Some more, Ton, until I'd become used to it and get numbed. " She muttered to herself, being upset for his insensitivity.
"Where is she? " She asked reluctantly.
"In our room." He replied.
In their room...
Toink! She could have just avoided this stupid question, as well.
"Daddy, can we go swimming, too?"
Jian tugged at Anthon.
"Sure but not this morning. It's already getting hot. It's not good for children. " Anthon explained.
" But why would mommy go out to swim? " Jian reasoned out.
"They are already adults. And besides, the pool that they would be using has many trees surrounding it while the children's pool is bare. We could go and watch them, instead. "
"Okay. "
Jia smiled as she listened to them before she stood up to go to the next room.
"Let's go out, son. Let's play tennis! "
Jim said as he saw Jian's pouting lips.
"Yeeeey! " Jian yelled excitedly as he hugged Jim's knees.
"Ton, would you mind to hold Jianna for a while until Jia is done?"
"Sure! Who would refuse to hold such a fluffy, pretty and chubby witch?" He replied as he pinched Jianna's chin then tickled her below her collarbone.
"Thanks, Ton. We would now go ahead. " Jim said.
"No, I'll bring Jianna to our room. "
___
Giselle's abrasions had turned dry already though there were still some areas of inflammation. While at her prone position since the affected side were on the back of her upper thighs, Jia cleaned the area with hydrogen peroxide then applied a Povidone iodine solution on the abrasion site. After drying, she then applied a topical antibiotics before covering it with gauze.
"Thank you so much, Jia. " Giselle said after she was done.
"You're welcome. By the way, have you started your antibiotics? " She asked, having remembered that they were requesting a crew of the resort to purchase it for her.
"Yes, thanks. "
"Good. "
Then, the door opened and Anthon came in with Jianna.
"You're done? " Anthon asked, his eyes shifted from Giselle to Jia.
"Yes. And I'll go now." Jia said as he approached him to get Jianna.
"Leave her with me. " He said as his eyes were fixed on her face.
She paused and nodded then hurried up towards the door. She no longer wanted to see that other pillow beside Giselle's. Just as she was about to pull the doorknob out, Anthon caught her other hand.
She paused and looked up to him. She then ran her eyes towards Giselle to indicate that she was watching. Anthon understood her and laughed.
"She knows how many times I had kissed you before so don't get bothered. And she also knows that even up to this moment, I still love you with all of my heart. "
"Crazy! " She exclaimed as he turned the knob again but Anthon pushed back the door and locked it.
Giselle laughed as she watched them. "Give me Jianna before you'd end up with a fight! "
Jia became awkward and dazed. Before she could think of what to do next, Anthon held her hand tightly and pulled her back towards the bed where Giselle was sitting down. He then handed Jianna over to her.
"What are you doing? "Jia murmured in a disappointed voice though her heart fluttered in a way she couldn't define.
Anthon pulled her gently towards the other side of the room where there was a small terrace that overlooked the sea. In it was a coffee table and three chairs. He then closed the door to give them privacy.
"Jia, please talk to me. Don't you know that you are already tearing me apart, and yet, you will let me hear you wailing for an hour? And don't you know that I also saw you the other morning while you cried your heart out? "
Jia did not answer right away. She was trying all she could to hide her emotion.
"I just miss home . And I thought it was Koko's number... "
Anthon cut her statement. "Don't lie to me, Jia. For my peace of mind before I go. "
Before I go? So, he was really leaving? Where and how long? Jia then looked at him with hurt eyes.
"I have accepted a contract overseas. And I have thought about this many times... " He paused for a while after saying this as he looked away from her.
"I am doing this, Jia, for our own good. So that when I come back, I would then be able to look at you as just a friend and sister -in - law. "
Still, she did not say a word or else, a single word from her would open up the barrels of tears that were now threatening to break out.
"I'm leaving soon and Giselle would take over in running the business under my monitoring. That's why I'm bringing her over because I no longer have enough time to orient her. "
Jia felt her blood rushing to her head as she held back her urge to bawl again. Anthon saw it and understood.
"Jia, were those tears for me? "
Jia was already trembling. If she couldn't hold herself, she wouldn't be able to hide the swelling of her eyes. She took a deep breath and whispered, "Please, let me go. "
Anthon did let her go but he secretly followed behind. He watched her running towards the pool. As soon as she reached the edge, she hurriedly pulled off her beach
cover - up and threw it on a chaise lounge nearby. Then, she took a forward dive into the pool.
Jia glided gracefully towards the center where she could be safe from onlookers. Once there, she instantly set off those emotions that she tried so hard to hold and hide.
This was one of the most tormenting statements she still had to hear from him now and in the future.
