176 Sharing The Same Room

Back at the resort, while Jia placed Jianna in her playpen after feeding, Jim handed her a small kit. Inside, were antiseptics, topical ointment, adhesives and small packs of gauze. There were also oral pain relievers.

"What will I do with these? "She asked as she opened the kit to check the contents.

"Give that to your bestfriend." He casually replied.

"Ah, yes...Why do I forget about it! " She said remorsefully.

He smiled. "You're just tired. " Jim said as he wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Do you know what number is her room? " She asked while grabbing simultaneously the phone at the bedside table to ask the receptionist. It was Casey who did the booking.

"Their room is next to ours. " Jim answered.

Their room? Did it mean that she and Anthon were sharing the same room? That statement was like a shock wave to her ear.

"I thought it's Anthon's room. " She said, trying to hide her emotion.

"Ate Casey booked one room for them. She's trying to do her matchmaking, you know. " Jim made it sound like it was something ridiculous.

"I see. " She leaned her head on his shoulder while hugging his arm for a while before she stood up to bring the kit to Giselle and Anthon's room.

While her heart was pounding louder than her knocking on the door, Giselle yelled out.

"Please, come in! "

Jia hesitated. She's suddenly afraid to see them being intimate with each other. She might not be able to endure the sight.

After quickly summoning her courage, she inhaled deeply before she twisted the doorknob to open the door. She then saw both of them sitting down in one of the two beds with their backs on the headboard. Though they turned their heads towards her, it was obvious that they were both looking into the laptop's screen in Anthon's lap. Could they be watching movies together? How sweet! While she never experienced that moments with him before.

"Sel, Jim wants to give this to you. " She said as she bravely looked straight into their eyes.

Giselle was surprised and pleased.

"Oooh, please thank Jim for me,

Jia. "

"Sure. " She smiled as she hurriedly looked down to open it and show her the contents.

"Take this tablet every 6 hrs for pain and then apply this cream to your abrasions two times a day after dressing. " Giselle nodded as she listened to her carefully.

Then, Jia placed back the tablets and the tube into the kit and gave it to her. Giselle looked into it and pulled out the bottle of antiseptics.

"What am I going to do with this? "

She asked helplessly, imagining the searing pain it would make during application.

" Pour enough amount of this into the cotton swab and apply it over the abrasions." She instructed while showing her the cotton swab.

"I'll do it myself? My goodness! " Giselle eyes widened and looked horrified.

She laughed, amused of her expression.

"Just let Anthon do that for you." She said as she glanced at him. Her lips may have uttered it while her heart wanted to take it back.

He seemed not to notice her anymore as his gaze was fixed on the screen.

Hurt by her own words and the way he ignored her while he was with her, she turned her back towards them and headed out to the door.

"Thank you, Jia. " Giselle said.

"My pleasure." She said without turning back at her.

Jia went back to their room right away and saw that Jim was already fast asleep. She slipped into the covers silently but Jim seemed to be awakened by her movements. He pulled her closer to him and cuddled her. She felt guilty then.

She hurriedly closed her eyes while enclosed in his warmth and tried to stop thinking. But no matter how tired she was, no matter how she tossed and turned, her thoughts were in a turmoil like the angry waves crashing into the shore.

At four in the morning, she woke up from a troubled sleep. She turned to Jim who was still hugging her and woke him up.

"Dear, wake up. Let's go to the shore. " She said as she brushed the hair above his forehead.

Jim woke up and glanced at his watched. "My love, it's still so early. "

Of their seven years together, Jim had never adapted to her early waking hours where she woke up at four to do her morning routines.

"Just stay here with Jianna. " She said, looking desperately at him who curled back under the covers.

"Okay but don't go swimming yet. It's still very early. Do it when the sun is up. " He said while pulling her back and drowned her with a kiss.

When Jim finally released her, she changed into a black tankini under a pair of sports shirt and a jogging pants. Then she went back to the shore and sat down again at the bamboo gazeebo.

The cool and soothing breeze of the dusk awakened her unspoken grief once again. Her grief for a man she had been desiring for so long to be with but just couldn't be.

When she decided to give her love and loyalty for the man who had done nothing for her other than unsurpassed and undivided love and devotion, she was very confident that she would be able to forget and leave the past. Yet, now that she saw him being matchmade to her bestfriend, she couldn't help being hurt. Why was she so evil to still feel that way? If there was one she hated so much at that time was her own self...

Picking her phone up, she logged in to her Messeger account and checked on the availability of Dr. Aijohn. She just needed someone to talk to. Someone whom she could ventilate her feelings with, someone to listen to her follies and tales of mistakes with no condemnation.

"Ko, are you there? "She desperately sent the message, wishing to get a reply.

Then, her phone beeped. "Yes, are you okay? "

"Ko, I'm not. "

"Why? You can tell me all about it. I'm willing to listen. "

As soon as she read the reply, she called him up and instantly burst into wailing once again, leashing out her worldless agony and bitterness.

She went like this for almost an hour, crushing the heart of his listener. When even her sobbing stopped, she wiped the tears in her eyes and looked at her phone to cancel the call.

To her horror, she realized that it was not Koko on the other line but Anthon.
