152 Are You Jealous?
Giselle was bawling like a child when she listened to his story. Brian could neither believe his ears. Who ever thought that such dedication still existed today? But who was he to judge him?
"Ton, I'm not the right person to tell you this but if my opinion would be solicited, I would suggest that you must move on now."
Giselle just listened. She was already tired of his stubborness. Let him be. She was only his confidante. And she was more than willing to do the task. Once in her lifetime, he never had a second thought in saving her from shame. Even if he had to sacrifice his love for her bestfriend.
To think, she was the reason why Jia refused to marry him. It was all because of her.
Just as the dawn broke, Anthon took Giselle to the airport and dropped Brian in his home. He felt a heavy load was lifted out of him when he was finally able to share it to the listening ears of his friends.
He took a quick shower and laid down on his bed. He put off the light and soon drifted into a peaceful sleep.
One summertime, when white and blue skies sailed into the sky, he stood at the end of a red, velvet carpet. In his right side was the crystal - clear sea water with tiny waves rolling out into the shoreline.
He wore a grey tuxedo and a white inner shirt. Tears lurked in the corners of his eyes as he looked at the opposite far end of the carpet. There she was, walking gracefully in her beautiful, off - white wedding dress.
While she walked to the rhythm of the bridal march, her tears cascaded like lovely waterfalls.
Those were tears of joy.
He almost couldn't wait for her to reach midway. He was too eager to finally take her hand as his bride. He was to eager to say the words,
"I do. "
When they were finally proclaimed as husband and wife, the first clap to cheer them was from his son. He was already ten years old. And their flower girl was Little Jianna.
Her beautiful face was the last scene before she was awaken by a call.
It was Jia.
"Ton, I'm sorry for disturbing you. Your son won't just stop crying. What did you promise him?"
His sleepy voice went through the line. "Jia, you should have allowed me to see the end part of my dream. You're so mean.. "
"I woke you up? Sorry...but should you be instead in your office at this hour? " Jia wondered if he was sick.
"Are you sick? Wait, I'll be there in few minutes." Jia went ahead.
"No, no... I'm not. I just did not sleep last night." Anthon reasoned out.
"Why? " She was curious.
"Giselle was here. I just took her back to the airport."
Jia was silent. Just what did they do to keep him awake all night?
"Are you still there? "He asked.
The one who answered was not her anymore.
"Dad? You said you would take me home. " Jian was so excited of his latest video game console.
He sprang up to his feet as he recalled his promise to let him play with it after his class today.
"Okay, son. I'll be there."
"We're on our way, dad. Just wait for me. "
Few minutes after, Jia pulled to a stop in front of his gate. Jian immediately got out and ran inside. She waved a hand to bid goodbye but she stopped. She must have seen him coming forward.
"Jia, thanks for worrying about me. " He smiled as he bent to look at her inside.
Jia smiled back. "Why were you awake all night?
Suddenly, Anthon thought of something. She became silent when he carelessly told her that he was not able to sleep.
"Are you jealous? " He asked, teasing her.
She snorted but did not say a word.
"Don't worry. It's not something like what we did inside the tent. Brian was here with us, as well. "
Her ears turned red. Without answering, she pressed the acceleration key and swiftly disappeared.

Days passed by so quickly and Jia was already heavy with pregnancy. It was already uncomfortable for her to travel with Jim in visiting every branch of Catherine Fields Medical Center. Mr. Wayne had almost recovered fully, so he travelled with Jim, instead. With a nurse to ensure his timely intake of his medicine and Hailey's Pill, he was already in good condition to get back on the business.
Hailey's Pen and Pill were scheduled to be finally launched into the public during the delivery of Dr. Grace. The birth of the Ybañez family's first grandchild was equated to the perfect time of launching the research.
One proof of the potency of Hailey's Pill was the fast recovery of Mr. Wayne. A stroke related to a rupture of blood vessels was not easy to treat. A full rehabilitation especially with the elderlies like Mr Wayne was almost impossible.
His daily progress was properly documented. With him as the testimony, being the owner of Catherine Field's Group of Hospitals, the research would be surely be a breakthrough.
It was decided that Catherine Fields Medical Center would host the launching. With such length and bittersweet memories prior to its launching, Dr. Grace insisted that the credit should be given to the Waynes. Most especially that Jim and Jia were now taking over the business. Jia was her husband's bestfriend after all.
Sitting behind the counter of Gee's Cafe, Jia suddenly felt something coming out inside her. When she checked on it, it was a blood. She was already having her bloody show. Unfortunately, Jim and his dad had not returned yet from overseas due to a problem they encountered in one of the branches. Kuya Nap was also out of town. Ate Nita was already staying with Dr. Grace as she was also expecting her delivery anytime.
She ignored it. Her contractions were still light and the intervals were far apart. However, in the next thirty minutes, her contraction interval rapidly progressed to every three to four minutes. It was already uncomfortable for her to drive.
She hurriedly pressed a name on the contact list...
"Ton, please bring me to the hospital right now."
