Dr. John. Yes, I wanted to get near him and that I always looked for ways to get close to him but I am never devising any harmful plots for them. And I had no plans to destroy their marriage. Perhaps, all I wanted was just a little attention from him. "

Dr. Aijohn stared at her, wondering if she's pretending as oblivious to the plan or she indeed did not know about it at all. "You do not know about your marriage arrangement?"

"What are you talking about? One time, Mr. Wayne set up a plan for us to be alone with each other but it did not work. It's only that."

Dr. Aijohn somehow felt she was telling the truth. Perhaps, her parents did not tell her about their whole plan after all.

"What I know is that Mr. Wayne is planning to get Dr. Jim a marriage annulment so that you two can get married."

Dr. Grace was dumbfounded. Should she rejoice? She thought back on the cold attention Jim had always given her, the news of his marriage, the contrast of how Dr. Aijohn treated her because of Hailey, his admonitions. Out of anticipation, this piece of news no longer made her happy.

Back in the tent, Jia opened again the FB post of Anthon. She saw the comments multiplied to over a hundred. She squinted. To her horror, it was her comment that attracted commotions from her class!

My gosh! Where was her brain? She thought of deleting her comment but it would only confirm their suspicions.

She looked at Jim. " Jim, what should I do?" She bit her lower lip.

Jim pulled her close. "What is it? "

Jia showed him the post and the comments thrown in response to her short, astounding statement.

Jim patted her head."The best thing you can do is to put your phone down and lie down with me. This is such a beautiful place for you to worry.

She put down her phone and slipped under the sleeping bag beside Jim. Through a nylon mesh opening on the top of the tent, they could see the stars and the moonlit skies. Jia snuggled to Jim and the latter cuddled her. To be in the arms of the one she loved in a place which portray what Garden of Eden must be like, to hear the rolling waves in a pristine sand and to see the glittering skies and the world's magnificent night lamp, was one of her life's most wonderful fulfillments.

They then talked about Dr. Aijohn and Dr. Grace being on this vacation together. The possibilities of dangers related to the launching of the research. Mr. Wayne's anger.

"What do you think, Jim? Could it be that Dr. Grace give up on you and consider Dr. Aijohn? "Her question suddenly became irrelevant that Jim no longer wanted to talk about.

"Quiet." Let's go to sleep." Jim then hugged her tightly until all could be heard was their breathing against the slapping sounds of the waves as it splashed on the shore.

Early in the morning, they were awakened by the ringing of Jim's phone. It was his dad. He went out of the tent and stood beside it.

'Dad.. " Jim greeted him.

"Jim, you really disappointed me. I am only thinking of what's best for you. How could you compare that woman who grew up in the squatter's area against the glamour of Grace's personal background?"

Jim did not reply. Whatever he would say would never convince him.

"I'll talk to Judge Ramirez to help you with the annulment. Your marriage with Gracie girl should be done before the launching. I have already given my word."

It was an imperative statement which should not be argued with. However, Jim could not be moved.

He was never a puppet to submit to his father's command.

"I'm sorry, dad. If you will take Jia away from me in whatever way, I may as well end my life. Remember that."

Mr. Wayne was astounded. It was a short, simple threat. He knew that Jim was not the type to joke around. However, he was already blinded by greed and had given his word to the Ybañez family.

Jia was stunned with Jim's words. She had not realized the extent of how much she meant to Jim until she heard him say it. She hurriedly went out and threw herself into him, hugging him tightly. Jim staggered as he did not see her coming out but he quickly gained his balance and hugged her back.

"Thank you, Jim. " She got emotional and her heart became heavy.

He did not reply but he draw her instead to him and kissed her hard.

"Dr. Jim, Miss Jia, good morning! "

Jim and Jia were both surprised to see Dr. Aijohn and Dr. Grace.

"We're leaving now and it would also be our last day today. We're going back to Layag with the whole team.

Take extra care for your wife."

Dr. Aijohn was holding Dr. Grace's hand. He was implying something and Jim understood.

"Bye, Miss Wayne, bye Doc Jim. See you both in Georgia." Dr. Grace said with a smile.

Jim and Jia were surprise to see them holding hands. After all, they were alone inside their tent and had been with each other the whole time they were here in El Nido. Possibly, they had been darted with a love spell. Finally, Jia could now drop her worries against this woman's possible ploys. Only such thing as love could stop it.
