9 Steven's Dorm
The dorms were behind the main campus. Each person had a dorm room. The rooms were expected to be clean, and routine check-ups did happen frequently. Misconduct was punished by loss of contribution points.
Entering the massive dorm compound, they noticed a person sitting at the desk in the front.
"Hello, I haven't seen you guys before." The guy said. "I'm the Super, Bob. Are you guys freshmen?"
"Yeah," Steven replied. "I'm Steven, he's Zero."
Zero nodded.
"Okay gentlemen, so your ID card serves as your key. Just swipe it to open your room. If you lose it, notify me, and I will open the door for you. Anything you ship from home should arrive in a few days, but currently, the rooms will be quite bare. Oh, we don't have a curfew, but you shouldn't loiter out too late, otherwise, you won't have the energy for classes tomorrow."
"Thanks for the info, Mr. Bob," Steven said to the Super.
"No problem, glad to help," Bob replied back. "In fact, I'm here just to make sure everything is going well."
Steven and Zero walked out of the lobby, across the hall, to the elevator.
And waited.
"Should we take the stairs? I mean my room is on the third floor." Steven said.
"Mine too," Zero said.
They waited a bit more.
"The stairs will be quicker anyway," Zero said, walking to the stairs.
They took the stairs.
"My room is 307," Steven told Zero.
"313," Zero replied back.
"Bye Steven." He said, heading to his room.
Steven waved goodbye.
Steven walked into his dorm room. It was mostly empty, except for a cabinet and bed, which was next to a window. He also brought some clothes and some essentials, which included his laptop and phone.
From his bookbag, he took out the paper he got from Science Class. It was an engineering paper on designing.
'At least we have Google for these questions.' He thought to himself.
An hour later...
Bloodshot eyes stared at the paper, scribbling furiously. Finally, he put down his pencil.
'I'm done!' he sighed. It felt as if a weight had been lifted from his head. He looked at his work. It looked crappy, but he wasn't gonna redo it. It was an hour of homework on the first day, yet he still had barely memorized the concepts necessary. He glanced down at his schedule for tomorrow. It was a Thursday, and his classes didn't include engineering... which also meant he could have procrastinated one day or, at least, split up the work into two days.
He was about to tear his hair out.
It was getting late. He entered the bathroom. The bathroom was simple enough. It was composed of a shower, a bathtub, a toilet and a sink. He took a quick shower and changed into his pajamas. Then, he brushed his teeth and was ready to zone out for the night.
His eyes slowly became heavy, and he fell asleep...
"Welcome back, Master."
