7 Steven Exits School
Outside the classroom, his peers formed a crowd.
Conversations were flying around. Through the mumbling, Steven heard answers to some of the questions:
"What did you get for the question about the protective relay? Curry, what did you get?" asked his classmate... Jackal?
"It was asking for the basic functions. It's like a fire alarm that detects unhealthy parts and isolates it or alarms the machine of the problem." Curry replied to Jackal.
"Well... how was I supposed to know that?" Jackal sighed.
"What about the battery question? Which battery would have been the cheapest and most efficient?" Jin asked.
"Maybe... the alkaline?" Sage said, unsurely.
"Zinc is the cheapest though..." Melody replied back.
"Lithium is the most efficient, but it sure isn't cheap." Sad softly murmured.
"Was anyone able to finish the design?" Jackal asked.
"I was, but not sure if mine was that good..." Melody said. "I barely studied engineering at my old school. I think some of us haven't even taken these classes. The test was a bit unfair..."
"I think I failed..." someone murmured.
"I probably failed too. It's okay." Steven consoled the girl.
"Yeah... I messed up on one question." The girl said back.
Steven stared..."Wait... you're in our class?"
"I'm Myosotis, You know, Mayo?" The girl asked hurriedly.
"Oh."
"It's fine." She said, walking away.
Steven walked to the end of the hall. The doors that separated him from freedom awaited him. He pushed open the doors. He stepped out.
Instantly, it was as if life turned around for the better. The sunlight greeted him with gentle warmth. The bird's melodies formed a symphony of nature's sounds. The light breeze fluttered through the grass and the leaves of the trees. It left the faint trail of summer behind, introducing Autumn.
He started walking to the dorms he would reside at for the time being.
"Hey Steven," A guy approached him.
"Hey... you're Zero?" Steven guessed.
"Yeah, do you live in the dorms?" Zero asked.
"My home's quite far away from here, so I have to." He replied back.
"Far wouldn't even describe how far my home is." Zero laughed. "Actually, many people live in the dorms. This academy's pretty secluded."
"Oh."
Zero stared at the sky for a while, before asking:
"Steven, do you remember me?"
"We've met before?" Steven asked, perplexed.
"Yeah," Zero said softly. Gazing at the grass a while, he suddenly said, "Look out."
"Huh?" Steven said before he heard-
"Remember me?" A guy bellowed out.
"No." Zero said.
"Wait... isn't he Bull E? The guy who was pummeling you at lunch?" Steven asked curiously.
"Bwa ha ha ha hah!" Bull E. laughed, looking down at Zero. "Your friend is right. Maybe you should have thought twice about offending me!"
"He was not pummeling me." Zero glared at Steven. "He shoved me, and I bumped into a table, causing it to fall. That's not the same as being pummeled."
"Sorry, I didn't see the entire thing," Steven said meekly.
"Hey Bull E. Where's your friends?" Zero asked.
"What? I have friends?" Bull E. asked, confused. "Wait! No-"
Bull E. proceeded to have a mental breakdown.
"Okay, let's walk away," Zero said. "He's fine."
"Uh... but he seems to be-" Steven argued.
"Oh, we actually have some stalls and stores on campus that sells food." Zero said.
"Where?"
