The man didn't even blink an eye to congeal her face, and instead, rolled her eyes violently. Only then did he lower his eyelids to cover up the darkness in his eyes.
He spoke, his voice a little hoarse.
"How on earth did you get that injury?"
"I tripped while walking today and hit my head."
Wen Yiyan continued to use the ice bag to help her compress the ice.
"Don't think that you can lie to me. You are too stupid to lie to me."
Fan Xing's gaze flashed, maintaining his silence.
Wen Yiyan pinched her cheeks.
"Then wait for me to get off work tomorrow and ask at your hospital."
Fan Xing intertwined his fingers, and said softly: "Okay, I will say, actually, today a patient husband came to cause trouble, and made a move on us."
Wen Yiyan frowned, "Is that the husband of that depressive patient of yours?"
Fan Xing nodded.
Wen Yiyan turned the ice bag around, "Where did he hit you?"
Fan Xing pointed to his forehead.
"Under the watchful eyes of everyone, this violent domestic guy didn't dare to go overboard. He only pushed me out of the way, causing me to stumble into the wall."
Wen Yiyan pressed on the ice bag with more force.
"When will you learn to protect yourself?"
"I didn't go head to head with him," the woman said, baring her teeth. "Someone like me who's afraid of death and who can only see the wind, must want to run away. But he chose me, someone who is afraid of death, because there's nothing he can do about it."
Her tone was especially helpless. The man glanced at her and asked, "Really?"
"Definitely," Fan Xing said as he pointed to his own nose, "Don't tell me that I look like a good, selfless girl?"
Wen Yiyan ignored her.
Seeing that the ice bag was starting to melt, he took it out and returned it to the fridge, then used a clean cotton stick to dry the water on Fan Xing's forehead.
Then she cut off a piece of breathable gauze and put it on her wound.
"Why did the husband make a scene?"
Fan Xing curled his lips.
"He thinks I shouldn't treat his wife without permission, and he says she's getting worse and wants me to pay for it."
Wen Yiyan carefully applied the gauze, "Did the patient's condition really worsen?"
Fan Xing bit his lips, "I made an appointment with Ms. Luo to treat her once a week, but she didn't appear this week, so I don't know what happened either."
Wen Yiyan frowned.
He started to tidy up the things he needed to deal with the wound and put them back into the medicine box.
Fan Xing sighed, and told Wen Yiyan about how he sincerely wanted to teach her a lesson.
She knew doctors were not allowed to treat patients in private.
Luckily she had Professor Chen Xi to help her carry it this time around.
Otherwise, she would have become a jobless wanderer by now.
"You go to work as usual tomorrow and find a patient after work."
"Don't visit her as a doctor, but as a friend instead, give her treatment advice while you're at it."
Fan Xing understood everything clearly.
That way, her husband wouldn't be able to accuse her.
It was a good idea.
Wen Yiyan closed the medicine box.
But Fan Xing's beautiful eyebrows were still knitted together.
"What worries me the most is not that her husband wants me to compensate him, but that Ms. Luo's condition has worsened."
Wen Yiyan said indifferently, "In a short period of time, you think you have the ability to worsen her illness?"
Fan Xing glared at him, his hand forming a fist and gently punching at his chest.
"Are you praising me or criticizing me?"
He spoke, his voice a little hoarse.
