79 Allies

Several black shadows strolled idly across the bloody street. They had the same pointy ears as Sunier's, but had entirely different temperaments. They had black hair, black pupils, black soft armor, and even the long bows on their backs were black. Their whole bodies were seemingly covered in a thick, pure layer of black. However, their faces were pale, which, in contrast to the black backdrop, looked especially terrifying.

The leader of the elves came to Youkedo and bent down, looking for something. When she found the crystal seal from his corpse, a smile crept up on her face. She cast a sideways glance and fixed her eyes on the roof where Sunier was squatting. "We meet again, Sunier." she said in a soft voice.

Though the knights of Beitman had been killed, the vampires were not yet satisfied. They were going to attack Moxinke standing at the gate, but stopped when they heard the elf's words.

"What brought you here?" Sunier replied coldly.

"Did you forget the Silver Pegasus Corps twenty years ago? We are learning from you, haha..." The elf smiled.

"Humph, Zaganide claimed himself invincible. Does he need to learn from others?!" Sunier sneered.

"You don't sound friendly at all." The elf let out a slight sigh. "Though I don't really care, you must keep it in mind that not everyone is so forgiving. If you can't control your own tongue, you will eventually bring disaster upon yourself."

Sunier simply grunted and didn't bicker with her anymore. The black elves held the advantage, so Sunier had no intention of provoking a conflict with them.

"I can feel the hostility in your heart, but I don't know why," the elf softly said again. "Lord Zaganide is not as bad as you think, and Dismark is not as great as you imagine him to be."

"At least Dismark was our ally," Sunier replied lightly.

"What a great ally." The elf began to laugh. "Twenty years ago, Lord Kassa gained the loyalty of several Red Dragons, but he was still killed by Dismark eventually. We all know that if it were not for the Silver Pegasus Corps and the group of elves who had penetrated into the rear of Kassa's troops and launched constant attacks at all costs, the ultimate loser would have been Dismark! But... what did you get after such a disastrous sacrifice?"

Sunier fell into silence.

"In accordance with the contract, you should split Kassa's territory evenly. But Dismark occupied at least eighty percent of the land, leaving you only twenty percent of wastelands. And the great amount of money and military supplies left by Kassa after several decades of accumulation in Ann City were also pocketed by Dismark alone." The elf laughed. "What's more, if he weren't so busy expanding his territory and had instead invaded westward, launching a pincer attack with Wild Willow City against Lord Zaganide, there wouldn't be a war now in the first place! Wild Willow City refused Dismark's plea for help this time. I personally agree with such a wise decision. There is no need to cooperate with a person like Dismark."

Sunier still said nothing. No one could see her face which was hidden behind her mask, but it was easy to imagine how terrible her expression would be.

"There is no eternal enemy in this world." The elf smiled. "Lord Zaganide appreciates your attitude very much. I think it's time for us to be friends."

"Friends? Ha..." Sunier laughed in extreme rage. "How many of our own race have been killed by Zaganide? Do you expect me to forget this?"

"You killed our people too, didn't you?" the elf said in a slow way. "Do not be as short-sighted as Dismark. You have to consider the long run."

"I would indeed be short-sighted if I decided to be your ally!" Sunier sneered, "Right now, Zaganide is fighting against Dismark while also having to worry about counterattack from Beitman. I assume that's why he is so worried about an invasion from Wild Willow City? Once this war ends, will he still want to be friends with anyone but himself?"

"Stop wasting time with them, Hazel. Leave them to me." A vampire came over with a grin.

"Don't stir up trouble." The elf frowned. "Our task is to destroy the heavy weapons of Beitman!"

The vampire was stunned, and then angrily roared. "Are you trying to give me order, Hazel?"

A gleam of cold light flashed across her eyes, but she didn't argue with the vampire anymore due to their special position. She let out a helpless sigh and turned around. The other elves followed her in a hurry.

The vampire gave back a cold stare, then waved his hand. "Kill them!" His voice was loud, as if he was demonstrating his power against her.

The group of vampires rushed forward like a swarm of bees. Moxinke immediately roared and released his protective strength of fighting. He had to fight until the last second with these creatures.

Suddenly, a loud sound of an explosion occurred in midair. Rays of golden light streaked across the sky like countless arrows, and covered hundreds of meters of space. The vampires all stopped. Shrill cries resounded in the village one after another. Two of the vampires even fell down and desperately flailed their arms around, as if trying to block something. They must be afraid of the rays of pervasive golden light.

When the golden light dispersed, the appearance of the vampires had also gone through dramatic changes. Numerous wounds like anabrosis appeared on their skin, from which black and sticky liquid flowed out.

Han Jin slowly stepped forward from behind Moxinke. He looked calm and impassive, but his heart was overwhelmed with anxiety. He knew the capability of the Pure Light Charm very well. If he had used it on the ghosts he summoned, they would instantly turn into ashes. However, these vampires were way more powerful than he had expected. They had only suffered minor injuries on their skin, while their strength remained largely unaffected!

"We don't want to be friends, but neither do we want to make enemies," Han Jin said coldly. "Leave us alone before I change my mind! Otherwise, I don't mind cleaning this world a bit!"

The fact that the vampires had turned against those elves just for some minor trifles proved that they were brutal creatures and would not listen to any facts or reasons. Only overwhelming power could convince them.

"Hazel... Master Hazel!" the leader of the vampires cried in a hurry.

The other vampires all took a few steps back. They were not afraid of soldiers or magicians, but priests were their natural enemies. What's more, Han Jin's tough tone tircked them into thinking that the priest in front of them had no intention of hurting them and only wanted to teach them a lesson. If they kept up with their attack, who knew what kind of powerful spells he would unleash.

Hazel turned around, cast a deep glance at Han Jin, and smiled. She ignored vampire, and simply walked outside of the village.

"Let's go!" said the head of the vampires with his teeth clenching. Without the elves to deal with the troublesome priest, they would no doubt turn into ashes under the holy light. Fighting a priest head-on was always a foolish decision.
