342 The Main Show Is Close

Ashton who just returned to Amber's side noticed that she had an amused look.

Upon following where she was looking, he saw the Price family together with Timothy and Alissa.

"You look like you are enjoying yourself," he speak up placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Of course I am. All I have to do is sit here while watching everything that is going on. No one will come to me unless I come to them as a host, isn't that the best feeling?" she replied with a grin looking up at him.

She must admit that he and his friends, even with their masks on, their dashing looks cannot be hidden at all. Their charisma are even better than the other heirs of the other Empires.

"What is going in there this time?" he asked fixing her hair despite it not being messed up.

"I can't hear anything but basing it on the way they look, that old man must be fawning over my brother who didn't come back after the kidnapping event," she replied.

On the other side.

"I see that I have worried grandfather, please don't worry for I felt safe over there," Timothy replied with a slight smile.

His meaning was, he was safer there than here or than their very own country where the incident happened.

Clark's smile dropped but not too much, "I see, I see. I hope you are enjoying your time over there. It is high time that you also follow what you want after all. But do come home from time to time."

Timothy just bowed his head, "I see my brother over there, please excuse us. I would like to introduce Alissa to him."

Seeing Glenn and Madison approaching and didn't really want to add more to the people he really didn't want to meet.

Especially so since Glenn was part of the cause why Amber was kidnapped in the first place.

"Leaving so soon cousin. Why don't you introduce her to us?" Glenn obviously commented upon seeing them leave.

His eyes went to Alissa after giving Timothy a snearing look and the lustful look couldn't be hidden at all.

Alissa's body was after all amazing and most men would give her another long look upon meeting her.

Timothy and Madison obviously noticed this.

Timothy took hold of Alissa's hand before stepping in front of her while Madison held unto Glenn tighter.

If she wants him to only look at her, she needs to take his attention all to herself.

"Have you greeted the host of the event? You do understand the partner couldn't really move around because of her condition," Timothy replied with a gesture of pointing towards the stage.

Glenn's eyes shifted upon the mention of this, he never thought that Amber would be saved at the same time the Black Spade gang were annihilated.

His grandfather and father still hadn't forgiven him for that and he hadn't heard anything from Carla Ansel after what had happened.

He tasked others to check on her but she too disappeared together with the Black Spade gang.

"If you excuse us, young master. I shall go and greet my brother," Timothy said upon seeing his reaction, pulling Alissa with him while giving Madison a fleeting glance.

Madison, on the other hand, acted like she didn't notice his glance. While trying to act coquettish towards Glenn who was starting to have a bad mood.

Amber seeing these interactions couldn't help but to chuckle on the stage, her brother is really something after all. They wouldn't be siblings if he wouldn't though.

Her eyes went to her other friends, some of them were actually already together. As compared to a year ago where they tried their best to stay away from each other in order not to arouse any suspicion.

They are now willing to take the risk and speak with one another showing others that they can actually get along just fine.

A smile appeared on her face as she watch all of this, until they announce that Gee Anne Pines and Matthew Carter will be performing on stage.

"Aren't you amazing? Getting someone from Carter Empire to perform while you are the one hosting the event," Clark who had come close to where Gideon and Cathrine were standing speak up.

"I wonder what you mean by this, both of them are not under the Carter Empire. But instead they are under Capa, have you heard of that place?" Gideon replied with a smile that was not a smile.

Clark squinted his eyes, if he didn't know of the place that was currently sweeping the entertainment world right now, then what kind of business man was he?

"Mathew is from-"

"If you are going to talk about his family then I think you should ask him himself. Gee Anne Pines is my grand daughter, I have asked her to perform and it was the young man who wanted to perform with her," Gideon interrupted him as the song started.

Clark who wanted to retort could only grit his teeth because of the fact that if it was Mathew who wanted to join, it was not them taking the help of Carter Empire.

Gideon was feeling fulfilled after making Clark shut up with the current event.

In the past he always needs to watch what he says because of their standing. But now, with how Ashton had been winning against Glenn left and right, he no longer needs to do so.

'Ah how fulfilling, indeed how fulfilling seeing how red his face became because of anger,' Gideon thought while grinning not totally listening to the performance.

"That guy, did he know that I was the one being nagged by his old man because of him performing now? He never even performed during the events that was hosted by the Carter Empire," Amber shakes her head as she said this.

She then looked up at Ashton, "Tell your cousin to give him a hard time once he starts courting her."

Ashton just placed a hand on her shoulder when she said this to him.

Even with her acting grumpily with what was going on right now, her eyes were actually shinning of pride and happiness because both people came from Capa.

"The main show is close," Amber then said upon seeing someone enter.

After the performance was the main course of food and as it was being served, obviously the Price tried to find fault in it.

For last year they were ruthlessly played with by Amber and Ashton, now all they want is to get back at them.

Silvia Price, currently taking care of the culinary part of the Price malls had been waiting for this.

If they can't do anything about the other she knew they can do something about this. They were aware that Wright Empire does not have someone from the higher circle of the culinary world.

After taking a bite she exaggeratedly sighed, getting the attention of those close to them.

"That's Silvia Price, the one who succeeded after Simon Peterson. Why would she be sighing after eating a bite?"

Everyone looked at the food before looking at her.

"Excuse me," she raised her hand and called out.

This time more people have noticed it, together with those in front, the hosts.

Seeing her, Amber had on an imperceptible smile.

'It seems that they still wish to be embarassed,' she thought as she shook her head.

Glenn and Clark noticed this and felt like stopping Silvia from whatever it is that she wanted to say.

Though they just felt like it but didn't stop her in the end.

"No wonder you called for some rising star to perform, this is in order to cover up the fact that your food are so so."

Her voice was arrogant and the way she placed down her fork while shaking her head made others doubt the food they are currently eating.

All of them found it delicious and superb but a sudden suggestion from someone of such caliber made them think twice.

Liana approached them, "I don't understand what you mean by this Madam Silvia Wilson."

Jared Wilson was an owner of a few famous food chains. He was also the husband of Silvia Price.

"I mean what I just said. This is the year end event why are you serving us, people from the top, such subpar kind of food?"

Liana smiled at her, "I wish to understand just what part of the food, you currently find subpar."

Silvia sighed while shaking her head as if she really didn't want to embarass them.

Some who was close to the Price Empire started snickering. They couldn't do anything about the venue for it was the top hotel of Wright Empire.

The performances were all stars from Capa Entertainment.

Who would have thought that they will get a chance with the food.

"The meat needs to be cooked for a few minutes. The sauce lacks enough stirring. The vegetables aren't crunchy enough..."

She started listing every possible insult making sure that it was not exaggerated in order for the people not to realize that she was bluffing.
