341 Are You Making A Scene

The hosts were obviously on the stage making sure the programs would flow just fine. And so Amber has a good view of everyone that was entering and those that are already inside.

She saw Ashley arrive alone and stood to the side, it seems that the one who approached her later on was a friend of hers.

Soon after the appetizer were served, she saw Jackson approach Ashley who was being surrounded by some young men.

"I'm sorry I'm not fond of dancing. I came here to learn the food they have served," Ashley politely rejected another school mate of hers.

Kara couldn't do anything as she watch Ashley reject one person after another. She said she had a date and that the person was currently busy that she could only wait for him.

"Does she really have a date?" the man beside her asked.

He too, despite only meeting Ashley, started feeling bad for her.

"She said she had. Where is that man? Leaving his date on her own. Did he know that she was quite famous not just because of her culinary skill but because of her beauty as well?" Kara instantly complained looking around.

But alas because it was a masquerade one, she really couldn't see who was who. Except for those she knew the face of.

"Miss Aileen-"

Just as another man went in front of Ashley to invite her to a dance, another man stood in between them and even with the mask, Ashley knew instantly that it was Jackson.

He just nodded at her before extending his hand and to Kara's surprise she actually smiled and accepted his hand making everyone watch at the two of them in shock.

She had been rejecting everyone no matter how much they flatter her but that man just nodded at her and she willingly accepted him?

If they just knew then they would have just nodded at her like a rogue and extended their hand.

As those men were in these thoughts, Kara understood full well why Ashley accepted him instantly.

"That must be her date and the person she loves exchanging messages with," Kara commented as she watched the two of them disappear in the dance floor.

"Though he seems familiar somehow," she then added trying to wrack her brain just where she saw those facial features.

"Come on, since she is already fine. Why don't you dance with me?" the man asked seeing as the others have already dispersed.

Kara smiled and nodded her head.

"You seem famous," Jackson said after the two of them entered the dance floor.

"Who told you not to come to me earlier? How many do you think have I rejected while waiting for you?" Ashley instantly replied.

"I am the lead for the catering of the food, do you think I wouldn't be busy?" he asked again.

In reality, he was still busy because the main course was not yet served. Then again he received a message from Amber saying that his date has a lot of bees flying around.

He could only leave it to Simon who looked at him meaningfully before coming out and arriving to where she was.

He looked down at her, she has a smile on her face as she enjoyed the dance they were having.

Despite her disguise, she was a natural beauty and so it is common sense that people would try and woe her.

He couldn't help but to click his tongue, the two of them aren't always together and so he didn't know just how many tried to take her away.

"Did you just click your tongue?" Ashley looked up at him and asked.

"What if I did?" he asked in return.

Ashley's face fell upon hearing this, "Am I bothering you? You didn't have to ask me here if that is the case."

"That's not it," was his reply before he pulled her inside the kitchen.

As they were dancing he slowly lead them near the kitchen.

He pulled her inside and made her to sit down, everyone was first shock upon seeing them enter but soon returned to their busy schedule.

"Stay here, I still have something I needed to do but I can't leave you outside where a lot of insects are flying around," he then said before turning to one of the crew and started giving instructions.

Ashley blinked a few times as she remained seated and since she was already here together with the fact that she was not really fond of what was happening outside, she started observing everyone diligently.

When Jackson looked at her and saw that she was observing everyone, an imperceptible smile appeared on his face before he returned to giving instructions.

Simon saw what Ashley was doing and approached her, "I see that you are indeed diligently learning."

He saw her immature look back in Achernar country and actually was shock to see how much she had matured within just a few months.

"He brought me here after all, I was the only one able to come here. I need to grab this chance no matter what," Ashley replied politely.

Simon smiled again, 'He brought you here because he really couldn't leave. And knowing that you are quite famous, he couldn't leave you either. Hence the current situation.'

But of course he wouldn't reveal what his student have just done and left her side to continue what he was doing.

The next to approach her was Russel, ever since they separated back then. They haven't seen each other for a while.

So they were able to chat for a bit at the same time, Ashley took the chance to ask her a few questions about what the others are currently doing.

As this happened inside the kitchen, Amber was watching another side.

It was of Timothy and Alissa, after they entered the venue. Timothy brought Alissa to where the other Price are. Even though he really didn't want to.

'Meeting the family?' Amber joked in her head.

And obviously, the other Price were looking down at Alissa.

"An ex model and now just your employee. Never thought your taste was this low cousin," Daisy Price instantly insulted.

Alissa didn't rebuke and just smiled at her as if her comment has nothing to do about her.

"So you are his girlfriend," Jasmine, one of his aunts commented next.

She looked at Alissa from top to bottom before scoffing.

She wanted to insult her clothes but seeing that its fabric was a lot better than hers, she couldn't do so.

In reality, what Amber and Alissa were wearing were made from baby cashmere fabric. It was among the most expensive fabric in the world.

If one were to criticize it then they should have a better fabric themselves.

"I didn't expect for cousin to buy her such an expensive dress," Gwyneth, Glenn's sister, said with disdain and an obvious jealousy.

Even though she was the sister of the current heir of Price Empire, her father wouldn't buy her something as expensive as this.

Alissa once again smiled while Timothy replied without any emotion in his face, "Why would I have to when Jake France wanted to gift it to her?"

Who is Jake France? One of the leading designers of the world.

"And if I wanted to buy her something, I would have chosen wool. Just in time since it was already cold," he added, gaining another jealous bout from everyone around them.

"Hmmph, using the Empire's money to spoil her. Aren't you bold?" another couldn't help but comment.

"The Empire's money? Since when? I have my own company why would I need the Empire's money?"

This time no one could retort, even when he was starting his company, what he used was what he earned by himself outside of the Empire before investing that amount to stocks and gaining the right one to start his company.

Harry cleared his throat, "I remember that your company is taking a leap right now, it started rising in the stock market."

Timothy looked at him without saying anything.

Because of Capa, his company started getting more and more first rate news and that allowed the company to keep rising.

"Since that is the case, you need to help the Empire. By promoting our hospitals and malls, you are doing something great for your family."

Alissa's brows twitched upon hearing him say the word family with great emphasis.

Timothy smiled without it reaching his eyes, "Why do you think do I have to promote the Empire. Without me doing anything the businesses are prospering. You don't need me at all."

"Preposterous, what do you mean by this?" Harry instantly glared.

"What do you mean uncle? Could you be belittling the Empire that you wanted me to make sure that it is being promoted?" Timothy replied making Harry angrier.

"You-"

"Enough."

Before he could say anything more, Clark was already there with them.

"Are you making a scene in the year end event?" he then said glaring at Harry.

"No father," Harry could only rein in his anger.

"He didn't need to promote the Empire," Clark said before looking at Timothy.

"How are you? After the kidnapping and you didn't return I was so worried."
