331 Not Once Did He Utter A Word
Just as Amber finished terrifying Carla to her death, a knock came from the outside.
"They are here."
It was Madison's voice that she heard after that knock.
Amber smiled again and looked at Carla, "Let's see how you can overcome the event that you will face. Something you, yourself have done to someone else."
Amber knocked on the door and Madison together with five men, who knows where they got, came in.
"Do as you please with her, but do make sure she rests. We can't have her dying on the first day," she then said to the men.
Their dull eyes lighten up after seeing Carla who was still bound on the chair. They had been imprisoned in this place for who knows how long that they are all craving for something.
Carla's eyes grew wide in terror, "No, please I am begging you. Please let me go. I will never do this again. I promise, I'm sorry please forgive me."
Understanding what they want from her, she instantly asked for forgiveness. Her words were even jumbled as she tried her best to move back despite the chair not moving.
"Have you ever answered to someone who pleaded to you before? I don't think you ever did. SO why must we, listen to your pleads?"
First Madison tortured her physically, then Amber destroyed her hope of ever being rescued. And now, she shall be tortured psychologically, emotionally and physically.
"For someone as evil minded as you, this is the best treatment we could give," Madison then said as she pushed Amber out of that room and closed the door behind her.
They still hear the shouts coming from the inside and the cries of Carla but both of them didn't feel anything.
"Were you satisfied?" after a while Amber asked.
"No, she was but an accomplice. She indeed caused my kidnapping to succeed but in the end it was not her that made those scoundrels do what they did, the true mastermind was still someone else."
Madison had on a bitter smile before looking down at Amber, "And you? Are you okay?"
This stunned Amber as her head snapped up at Madison.
Madison was not looking at her face but was looking at her thigh, she looked down at it and sighed.
"It is healing already so it is fine. And the people who inflicted it were all caught already so I can only strengthen myself now."
Madison pursed her lips before opening them again, "What you did today of allowing me to vent a bit of my anger, I really appreciate it and my trust for you that you will help me get back at him has increased."
Amber blinked a few times before realizing what she meant, 'That's right. I was always at the receiving end, she had been giving us information so it is natural for her not to trust me at all.'
"With this place that looks like you belonged in and the people that looks like they are here just to serve you. I really don't know just how much connection you have or how strong your backing is. All I can say is that, you might really be able to get that revenge you longed for."
"I don't know what Glenn Price had done to you for you to seek revenge towards him but I'll try my best to help in order to get back at him as well," Madison finished.
Amber smiled at her, "I look forward working with you even more."
Madison stared at her eyes, "I'm jealous of you, if what happened to me back then didn't occur then I and Ashton might still be together."
Amber sighed, "Well, after Carla colluded with Glenn Price, we have already deviated from such future. Plus it has been ten years already, we really don't know what would have happened between you with that span of time."
Madison sighed bitterly, "Indeed."
"But I hope..."
Amber started but ended up shaking her head, "No, never mind."
"I can't send you back but can you trust a bit that you would return to that restaurant with a blindfold?" she then said.
She still wanted to check on Oliver Cleaves.
Madison nodded her head, "I am already here I can only put my little trust that I could return to the restaurant."
Amber smiled before she nodded at another man that was close by, that man lead Madison out of this place.
"I hope that once this is over, you would also find your happiness," Amber continued what she wanted to say a while ago as she looked at the departing back of Madison.
What Madison did to her were of nothing major, they were just childish little tricks that didn't cause her any harm and so she can find it in her heart to hope for happiness for Madison who had experienced so much.
She ended up in this position just because of the rivalry and jealousy Glenn felt towards Amber. It's not like she had chosen to be the one in her shoe, in the end it was just her fate.
With a sigh and after seeing Madison disappear, Amber turned her wheel chair and returned to Michael's office.
After knocking and hearing him say to enter, Amber turned the knob and wheeled herself in.
Michael was already sitting on his chair, having calmed down from his crying.
He looked up at her before smiling while standing up walking behind her, he then stretched his hands and put on her necklace on her.
"My sister ha a wonderful family even having such a beautiful daughter as you, thank you for letting me see it," he then said as he patted her head.
Amber beamed at him, somehow since she met an uncle as kind as Kyle that is currently her father-in-law. And never truly interacted with any of her maternal uncles, she became at peace towards Michael faster compared to her grandfather.
She had after all experienced so much from her maternal grandfathers. So her mind and heart might tell her it was different but her body would still stiffen from time to time when she interacts with James.
"Anyway, I want to see Oliver Cleaves."
Michaels' smile dropped upon hearing this, Oliver currently has a very bloody appearance that he didn't want Amber to see him.
"If you are worried about his appearance, I have seen more though," Amber, as if reading what was going on in his mind, then said.
'And I have done more as well,' she added in her mind while mentally sticking out her tongue.
Michael sighed, "Very well. It seems you still have a few words you wanted to tell him."
Amber nodded and Michael took it to himself to push her towards the room where Oliver was imprisoned.
When they did enter, Amber's nose was assaulted by the strong stench of blood and other bodily fluid. When her eyes finally landed on the man, she could see that he had suffered very very much.
Michael looked down at her and seeing as she was not pale or her eyes didn't look like they were shock, he couldn't help but to think, 'Just what had she been doing all this time for her to be okay in such sight?'
Oliver's teeth were scattered on the ground as his face could barely be recognized. His arms and legs were obviously broken and his body were in no better condition.
"Is your life hanging by a thread?"
The first sentence she asked made Michael looked at her in shock while a reaction from Oliver who was lying on the floor.
"How does it feel? To be in such condition when just a week ago you were so high up?" Amber continued asking and her eyes looked like they were genuinely wondering about this questions.
Oliver slowly raised his head and seeing her clear eyes, he finally understood what it was that was familiar with her. Something he had been pondering all this time while being tortured and being imprisoned in this damn place.
"You... really are... just like... her."
Michael looked at Oliver who spoke his first words ever since coming here.
Even when he was threatened with his family.
When he was being tortured that no man could actually endure.
Not once did he utter a word.
But right now, in the face of his niece, Oliver actually speak up.
"No wonder I suddenly remembered that... *cough cough* young lady from quite a while... back after seeing... you."
With what he had experienced, speaking must be very difficult right now.
"She had the same clear... eyes as you do... believing that the one... she loves would come."
Amber just listened without any emotion in her face or eyes.
"She must have been your mother.... I can see some resemblance on you."
Amber thought back and remembered that there is one time when they were not yet married that her mother told her that she was once kidnapped and was saved by her father, that's when he also proposed to her.
"Such a small world... I was able to escape from your father... yet I was actually caught by the lover of the daughter of that woman."
"They are here."
