330 A Person On Both Sides
As they wait for the people that they asked for, Carla was gritting her teeth on them.
"Do you think you will get away with this? The police shall look for you. I have a family member there, they would surely get you," she then said.
Amber looked at her and smiled, "Have you forgotten Carla? I once told you I'd show you just what connection really means. Have you forgotten?"
Carla suddenly felt scared upon hearing what she had just said.
This was back when she almost caused the other woman to lose their child, then she realized another mistake of hers.
Because of the fact that during that time, the brothers and Amber barely interacted, she had forgotten to mention it to Glenn Price. Them being at the Wright Empire was already suspicious enough.
It completely slipped her mind because of what had happened after that, their shares being bought and her being kicked out of that place.
She then glared at Amber, if she were to get out of this place, she would surely speak about it to Glenn Price.
She knew that her uncle who is a vice captain in the police force is currently trying to search for her. She knew he would surely take the other police officers to look for her and once she is saved, she will make sure that these two are to be tortured more than what she had experienced today.
"Somehow with your look I can quite read what was going on in your mind. You must be thinking that if you were to be rescued you will get back at us tenfold, right?" Amber suddenly said.
Carla just stared back at her, to which Amber smiled wider at her.
"That is if you can come out of here alive."
She knocked on the door and a man came in.
"Please keep her mouth shut," she then said as she pointed at Carla who started thrashing upon hearing her words.
"You- mmmpp mmmhhh."
The man left after tying a cloth on Carla's mouth.
"Is it possible for me to speak with her alone?" Amber looked up at Madison and asked.
Madison just nodded and left the place, since they are just waiting for those people and since it was Amber who captured this person, there's no point in not agreeing to her.
Plus Madison could see that Amber was accepted at this place and so she should follow what she wants, she already gave her the chance to get back at Carla after all.
After the door was closed Amber took out a phone, this time it was a black touch phone. Though she felt bad for the flip phone she had lost, she can no longer do anything about that.
She also got her number back already, the same one as she had been using in the past.
After looking at Carla, she made a call. In three to four rings, the other side answered.
"Do you have a request? We are quite busy right now so-"
"Is it something about Carla Ansel? I heard an uncle of hers is within the police force," Amber interrupted Luke.
"How did you know?" Luke was shock to hear her.
"Well, because I have her."
She didn't hear any reply from Luke after she said this and Carla was staring at her while trying her best to make herself known to the person on the other side.
Amber had actually put it on speaker in order for Carla to listen to her and understand what connection truly means.
"Pianist," Luke finally said.
"Are you going to tell me that there is a law?" she answered back.
Of course, her voice is still being distorted.
Luke sighed, he and the chief was just talking about finding Carla Ansel a relative of one of their vice captains.
"Have you not checked your email, I sent you files regarding the corruption of that vice captain of yours," Amber added.
Carla finally stopped thrashing as she stared at Amber in disbelief.
"Are you really gonna accept his request knowing all these?" Amber asked as she smirked at Carla.
"Still-"
"Still about the law? If the person close to me did not get away from Carla's kidnapping and dies, then Carla can just runaway from the law."
"How fascinating for she did the same thing back in Madison Price's kidnapping. Do you know about that?"
For the first time since speaking with the Pianist, Luke can hear the sarcasm and hatred in her voice.
"Madison Price?" was all he could ask.
"Just saying that Carla had a hand on what happened to her kidnapping back then. May not be big but still an accomplice."
"Pianist..."
After another bout of silence, Luke once again spoke up.
"You are the police, I understand that. And for you, for the kinds of Carla Ansel, there is a law. But are all five Empires really clean?"
Luke looked at the chief after hearing Amber's words. Despite speaking about laws, who in the world didn't know that the Empires have killed people?
The babies and the kids maybe but to them who are in the police force and the others, they knew of the dark side of the Empire.
"Oh and another thing, the Black Spade. Well I too have a hand on them," Amber added.
This time the chief took the phone from Luke.
"Pianist."
His voice had a tinge of authority, the Black Spade was their current biggest problem.
Amber laughed upon hearing this.
"Are you going to tell me about the balance? Please let's stop kidding ourselves, bringing down the Black Spade gang gave the best balance out there."
"Their notoriety was well known among you and the other higher ups. Human trafficking? Drugs? Murders? Name it and they have a badge for it."
The chief could not refute, for Black Spade gang had become too notorious the past years that they are already a head ache to them.
"Plus, isn't it that currently only one Empire is raising a ruckus?"
Amber dropped the final bomb that made the chief and Luke lost for words.
"That's right, Price Empire. They must be the only one raising a ruckus about the balance. Are you really gonna blame me for the Black Spade gang? Are you really gonna pursue the matter about Carla Ansel?"
She paused for a bit before continuing, "Or are you gonna check why is it that that Empire had been complaining about this? An agreement was there, right?"
Once the agreement was mentioned, the two of them was once again shock to know that the Pianist knew of the agreement.
An agreement that no Empire shall include themselves with the two gangs.
"I am a very vengeful person, they touch my people, I will never leave them unscathed. I am just giving you a heads up and even giving you a chance to clean your own force up. It's up to you to take it."
The chief thought for a bit before sighing, "You are the person we are wary of the most. Just do remember that."
Amber smiled again upon seeing the horror in Carla's face. From that answer she must have already knew that she no longer has an escape from here.
"I can tell as much," was all Amber said.
Who wouldn't be wary of the Pianist? Someone who can dig as much information as long as he puts his mind into it. Someone who has so much connection no one knows who and where.
The chief ended the call after hearing this.
"Sir," Luke said as he received the phone.
"What that person said is true, how many died unjustly? We are enforcing the law but even that same law is turning a blind eye to so many crimes."
He walked towards the window and looked outside.
"It is also true that Price is acting suspicious towards the annihilation of the Black Spade Gang. And it is true that the annihilation of this gang removes a lot of pressure on us."
After speaking of this, he looked back at Luke, "Go and get all the information about Troyce Ansel. We need to see what he has. At the same time we'll have to stop the search for Carla Ansel."
Luke understood why the chief chose this answer as he saluted and left the office to do what he was tasked to do.
"A person on both sides," the chief lamented as he thought about the Pianist who helps them but at the same time was not clean as well.
After Amber ended the call, she looked at Carla and gave a sweet smile, "Connection is wonderful isn't it?"
Carla may not know who the person she spoke to but she can tell that it must be among the higher ups of the main police force.
For Amber to have such connection, she didn't want to believe it. Her uncle that is a vice captain was even found to be corrupt.
Fear enveloped her after knowing all of these, she looked at Amber who was sitting in the wheel chair as if it was her throne.
"Shall we play?" Amber smiled even sweeter and tilted her head to the side as she said this to the now fear stricken Carla.
"Do you think you will get away with this? The police shall look for you. I have a family member there, they would surely get you," she then said.
Amber looked at her and smiled, "Have you forgotten Carla? I once told you I'd show you just what connection really means. Have you forgotten?"
