326 Leave Her To Me
It was already afternoon the next day when Amber opened her eyes.
The first person she saw was Ashton who was sitting just beside her caressing her hand.
The next was Timothy who was on the other side reading a book.
And finally was Xander who was leaning on the wall beside the window.
She can tell by their looks that they haven't had any rest and was watching over her since she came here.
She looked up at Ashton, who was now staring at her.
He felt her move and when he did see her eyes open looking at them, he couldn't speak.
The relief of seeing her open her eyes washed over him and all he could do was stare at her.
"Amber," Timothy who also noticed her movements called upon seeing her eyes open.
Xander approached them, his eyes were red just like of Timothy's.
"I'm sorry," were the first words she said as she looked at her brothers.
It was very obvious that Timothy took the earliest flight possible when he found out that she was kidnapped.
Timothy and Xander shook their heads.
"Thank you for coming," she then said smiling at them.
"What kind of brothers are we, if we couldn't even spare time to go to our sister when she was in such condition," Timothy replied as he caressed her hair.
"How do you feel? Though I guess you really don't feel the pain right now," Xander asked.
Amber slowly shook her head, "It was excruciatingly painful."
All three men were stunned by her words.
"What do you mean?" Ashton was the one who asked.
"Remember when I first came to Celestial country, that I was slowly feeling the pain?"
Ashton remembered when she head butt him and she exclaimed that it was painful.
Though if it was someone else, they may not have been able hold their own strength and still attack him.
"I didn't know it had entirely returned. Though thanks to my preparation, the gas that could have paralyzed a full grown adult man, was only able to make me feel weak."
Ashton looked away and Amber knew what was going in his mind, so she reached out her hand despite the painful pull of the wounds, she still reached out.
"There is nothing we can do about those things. So, I'm begging you not to think badly of yourself because of this. It was I who wanted to stay and speak with them."
"I felt the fact that you wanted to take me away from them. But I was the one who wanted to stay. Please don't blame yourself for anything."
Ashton held her hand and sat down, he noticed her wincing when she reached out to him.
"Preparations?" Xander finally asked.
Amber smiled, "I am a prepared person but not always, ending up in this kind of situation."
She didn't want to tell them that she had been poisoning herself in order to raise her immunity to poisons.
Timothy shook his head, "Alissa is with me. We'll leave you two for now then I'll come by again with Alissa."
"I'm happy to hear that," was her reply.
Both Xander and Timothy kissed her on the forehead before leaving the room.
They felt it of course that she didn't tell them everything but they knew, she was doing it for herself and for them, so they could only understand her.
When the two was left alone, Amber's smile dropped.
She was still feeling the grief after meeting the ones who killed her parents. But she didn't want her brothers to feel even more grief.
She felt Ashton's hand on her cheek as she looked back at him.
In his eyes, she knew he understand. Why she didn't want to show any sadness towards her brothers.
"I went mad back then, didn't I," she said in a pained voice.
"Who wouldn't?" he answered.
He went mad when Carl died, he went mad back when Madison was taken.
It was Amber who pulled him out of that.
"Never thought I'd be like that though," was her answer.
"You are a human. Even though you were always level headed and that you are always in control of your emotions. That doesn't mean that will last for a life time."
"They had killed your parents right in front of your eyes. If you didn't feel anything after meeting them is what will make me worry even more."
"Should I say I am sorry right now?" she then asked.
Ashton shook his head, "What use was it?"
"No, I really should say I am sorry. I should have been more vigilant. I guess I became complacent because of my life as Amber Wood."
Ashton cupped her cheek, "Just remember to stay safe in the future. And I guess we need to create a tracker for you that could notify me instantly once something happened."
"How did you know that I was missing?" she asked upon hearing his statement.
"Timothy suddenly became worried of Xander and checked the tracker in your necklaces. That's when we found out that it was you who we should have been worried about," he replied.
"Intuition really do runs in the family, isn't it?" she replied with a playful smile.
Both of them didn't want to linger on the past. She was already here, she was already saved and is now with them.
They'll just end up being saddened by the thought of her being hurt and all if they were still to talk about what had happened.
"What happened? Carla was there," he finally asked.
"Actually, I had investigated the kidnapping of Madison. I just felt something was amiss back then."
Though she just woke up, she does not feel too weak and so she started telling him what she found out about Carla Ansel.
"She had been blaming me for something about her body. It seems she had sold it to Glenn Price in order to get the help of Black Spade gang."
Ashton gritted his teeth, if he just knew, he wouldn't have left Carla alone when she left the Ceres country back then.
"Leave her to me," Amber knew what was going on in his mind and so she asked.
"There's another person who wanted to get at her the most. Though she still didn't know the part Carla played back then."
"Are you talking about Madison?"
"Yes, I had promised her that I would get back at all of them with her in exchange for her help."
Ashton took a deep breath and nodded, he had also received another news from Madison the day before yesterday.
The next land Price Empire plans to get their hands on.
He bent down and planted a kiss on her forehead, "Get more rest."
He can see that just her telling that story was draining enough already. Amber smiled before closing her eyes and sleep came to her instantly.
The pain of her body was something almost foreign to her and she just want to sleep it away.
Ashton's face became darker after she had fallen asleep, he never though that Carla would end up being so wicked.
They may not be so close but he still treated her as a younger sister. Yet she dared to harm the one he once loved and even now, the one he loved the most.
He will never forgive her.
He picked up his phone and called Cedric.
"Get all of Carla Ansel's family. No matter who, I don't care. Let them rot in the lowest level of the society."
"I understand, young master."
Despite leaving the Wright Empire, the Ansel family was still rich. They also have some other businesses.
And even though they tried to oppose the Wright Empire, in the end they were still left alone but not anymore.
Carla was their off spring, how she grew up was something their family had a hand in.
He won't touch her as per Amber's request but that doesn't mean he would leave her family alone.
He then made another call.
"Was everyone taken down?" he asked.
"Got everyone and killed them. Right now your friends are cleaning up those who are loyal to the Black Spade."
Michael was the one he had called to ask the condition of what they have done.
"How about the police?"
"Still no news from them, I don't know if they are still in a discussion or not."
"I see."
Ashton was not worried at all, the disappearance of Black Spade would only cause some set back for the Price Empire. For the other Empires and the police there would be none.
It would even be a relief for the police, for despite covering their tracks, the police still knew that some of the notorious killings was done by the Black Spade members.
They are becoming too much that the police would want to take them down.
That is why, they can say that this is a good news for the police. What they only need to pacify are the Empires.
