“…… She’s not here today, huh?”

When I peeked into Basleigh-sensei’s open room, I found the bed empty and the red dress she wore yesterday scattered on the floor. I thought she was taking good care of it ……

“Oh, well. Now then, I’m on breakfast duty today, so I’ll make a quick meal before Makina wakes up.”

I lit the furnace in the kitchen and put some oil in a frying pan to make scrambled eggs. After crisping up the bacon and adding it to the scrambled eggs, and putting a few pieces of bread in a basket on the table, it was time to make the salad.

“It really helps that Makina isn’t a picky eater. Tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce–“

Once the salad was on the table, I finished grinding the beans and making the coffee. The ingredients in this world are similar to those in the other world, so as long as I have the right tools, there’s nothing I can’t cook, having lived alone for so long. I mutter to myself as I watch the coffee being scraped from the cloth.

“It’s been a long time since I was allowed to cook in the house with the maids and my mother. It would be interesting to recreate some of the other side’s dishes. Steak is good, but I want hamburger steak or curry …… Ramen …… can possibly be made by using a rampaging boar as a pork bone ……?”

It’s such a peaceful morning that I can afford to think about it. I’d also like to meet Helena and tell her where we live …… Leor-san is …… not here.

However, they still wholesale costumes, so I would like to go to the costume shop and see how my designs are lined up.

“…… Bacon’s smells good …… I drank a lot yesterday, but this smell makes me hungry.”

“Oh, good morning, Makina. I have some coffee too.”

I interrupted my thoughts when Makina came out of her room and handed her a wooden coffee cup at the table.

We spread butter and jam on the bread and talked about dinner. We had made a light breakfast because of yesterday’s party. So we finished breakfast quickly and got ready to go to Fath-san’s, our destination for the day.

“Let’s leave the horses today. Since Basleigh-sensei isn’t here, we’ll go on foot for training. We can also fly with the levitation.”

We locked the outer door of the iron fence to prevent the horses from escaping, and we headed to Fath-san’s mountain.

I knocked on the door sweating, wiped the sweat off with a towel, and waited for Fath-san to come out. The door soon opened and Fath-san came out and opened her mouth.

“Oh, it’s you guys. I’m so glad you came to visit me yesterday and today.”

I was about to speak, but Makina put her hand on my shoulder and stepped in front of Fath-san. Fath-san raised one eyebrow at the atmosphere and waited for Makina’s words.

“…… I’m here to be Fath-san’s apprentice! If it’s okay with you, please teach me your techniques.”

“This old lady is a little surprised that you decided to do this so quickly …… N-No, but good things come in haste is what they say. Makina, it will be a hard and painful training, but are you prepared, right?”

“Yes.”

Fath-san nodded with a smile at Makina’s cheerful reply, and walked out the front door into the garden.

“Okay, then Makina, let me see your ability by having a bout with me.”

Standing in front of Fath-san, as Makina readies herself, Fath-san lowers her hips and thrusts her right hand forward, while her left hand clenches into a fist and rests on his hip.

…… The atmosphere is covered with the same air as Tigre-sensei when he first met Sarge. I can still feel the tense air around even though I’m standing against the wall of the house.

“Now, Makina can attack first, you can come from anywhere.”

“…… I’m coming!”
