65 Chapter 65
"Good. You better not be lying to me, you pretender." Quickstep warned the fairy. He glanced upwards and teleported towards the night sky.
"What was that?" Lord Meric asked towards the veteran guard. He was the first to respond to the scene of commotion. This disturbance had caused him to delay what he was doing. His wives would roast him alive if he won't get back soon.
"It was the immortal, Lord Meric. He and an unknown woman were fighting about something." The veteran guard reported what he heard from his post. He was too far away from the actual spot of the disagreement and decided it unwise to meddle in the bald immortal's affair.
Old age has gifted him with wisdom and so he used it fairly often.
"Trouble follows him everywhere. Hmmm." Meric muttered as he stopped to think about what had happened. This new information about a woman was curious. It would be best to identify her as soon as possible.
"Very well, report to the Council to tell them about it. And also give them the picture of the woman who was with the immortal. She might be important. And about the immortal, just let him be. Report if either of them are spotted again." Meric instructed the veteran guard after three breaths.
"As you wish, Lord Meric." The veteran guard bowed his head after his words and immediately left to accomplish the task that he was given.
"I wish this is the last time I see you, Quickstep." Meric whispered and he then proceeded to return to his mansion. He needed to unwind and lose some sweat tonight. The bald immortal may have shocked everybody today but he and Ezedius were sure to top the list of his traumatized victims. And then there was Rhixar.
"Now tell me! Where is Danica?! Tell me where you hid her?!" Quickstep roared once more to the fairy. They were in a desolate world a few universes away from where they came from. It was a lifeless planet.
The temperature was too hot to accommodate life as only the oozing red liquid from the ground shows a semblance of motion.
"Stop… the… pain… please…" the fairy answered the bald immortal. She tried to convey her words out. A mortal would have already died from this ordeal. But cultivators have strong bodies. It helped the fairy last this long against the crushing pressure.
"Okay. But don't do anything dirty. I'm warning you. If you look at me even bad once, I'll resume my ant aura attack on you." The bald immortal cautioned the fairy. He really did not want to inflict torture upon this woman. But he had to act fast for his friend. Quickstep had to do what he had to in order to save his friend, Danica.
Who knows what Danica was going through right now? Was she hungry? Thirsty? Or perhaps injured and bleeding? Quickstep ran different scenarios on his mind and feared for his friend's safety. Time was of the essence. He thought as he released the fairy from her suffering.
