50 Chapter 50

"Please forgive my vulgarity, Your Excellency. It won't happen again." Ezedius apologized and bowed his head even lower. Deep inside, he was chastising himself for being such a moron. Offending an immortal, even one who was acting on a play, was not a smart move.

He was thankful that the bald immortal didn't kill him on the spot. If he lived through this tribulation, Ezedius promised himself that he would never do the same mistake again.

"Hahaha! This is not the time for apologies, my friend. It's time to sing and dance! Let's party!" Quickstep declared out loud. Ezedius' relief was quite evident. He breathed deep and congratulated himself for surviving a close shave from death.

"Right this way, Your Excellency." Ezedius smiled at his good fortune and continued his part of being a warm host for the bald immortal.

"The troops are ready, Sect Master." A tall muscled guy reported to Octavio. He wore thick armors and stood straight like an immovable mountain. He was an elder of the Divine Evil Sect who was second only in power to the Sect Master.

"Let us return to the sect." Sect Master Octavio muttered softly. He was still deep in thoughts as if pondering something of a complex nature.

"Are we just going to let this go and forget that one of our own suffered, Sect Master?" the tall muscled guy asked instead of acknowledging the command of Octavio.

"We have no choice, Demetri. He is an immortal. It is best to forget this ever happened." Sect Master Octavio replied dejectedly.

"But we have also an immortal, Sect Master. The Founder would…" the tall muscled guy said but got cut off in the middle of his speech.

"…kill you, Demetri. Or maybe the Founder won't be able to do it because I would have already executed you first in order to avoid unrestricted slaughter. A battle between immortals would disintegrate universes in but a second.

Do you think this world would survive that catastrophe, Demetri?" Sect Master Octavio asked the tall muscled guy in a chilling voice.

"Forgive me, Sect Master." The tall muscled guy said when he realized his mistake.

"Tell all disciples that no one is allowed to speak of what happened here today. What they saw and hear will not be discussed among themselves and to others. Violators of this command will have to say hi to Rhixar for me. Understood?" Sect Master instructed the tall muscled guy.

"I will personally see this done, Sect Master. I guarantee that not a single soul can know of this affair. But what about the City of Yoria?" the tall muscled guy asked Octavio. The city itself and its peoples are all spectators of today's drama. They saw much of what had transpired between the Divine Evil Sect and that bald immortal.

"Leave them be. We can't touch them because of the immortal. He seems fond of Ezedius. Send spies into the city at first light. No. Make it tonight. They are not to interact with the immortal. I only want them to observe him from afar. No blunders on this, Demetri." Sect Master Octavio said to the tall muscled guy.
