35 Chapter 35
"You have a glib tongue, demon. But your persuasion won't work on me. I'm no coward like Ezedius. I think that whatever treasure you used will take a while to be available again." Rhixar said to Quickstep. He never waited for the reply of his opponent as Rhixar dashed towards the static figure of Quickstep in the sky.
He pointed his sword and the howling souls within it screamed in chorus. It was as if the cursed sword gets strength from the agony inflicted upon the trapped souls inside it.
"Okay. I give up. You want to battle? Then come at me! Hmmm. Why is it so hard to be a good ant in this human world?" Quickstep said and waited for Rhixar to arrive at him. The cursed sword shone in an evil light as it hungered to devour even more souls than it currently has.
Rhixar was fast and he instantly appeared before Quickstep to deliver a killing blow. He targeted the chest of his foe because it was the biggest objective which was also the hardest to dodge part of any being in combat. The tip of his sword has almost touched the skin of Quickstep but two fingers held it before it could go further.
"Hahaha! It's good to be strong!" Quickstep laughed as he felt unbeatable. Since meeting this crazy boy, he had always run. Now it was his time to do the chasing.
"What are you going to do now, Rhixar? I got your weapon. Get it if you can! Hehehe!" Quickstep taunted his foe.
"You demon!" Rhixar was enraged by the words of the Quickstep. No matter how hard he tried. His strength seems to be like a child before the demon. He can't pull out the sword from the right forefinger and thumb of his opponent. He blinked away and drew magical seals in the air.
After a breath, the cursed sword dissipated as if smoke from the binding hands of Quickstep and reappeared to its rightful owner, in the hands of Rhixar. Was he really an immortal already? How was that possible?
This mysterious creature was only a weak bird before him earlier that day. Yet now, his strength was paltry compared to its new form.
"Were you serious in making friends with me earlier? I take my words back, demon. I would be glad to accept that friendship." Rhixar said to Quickstep.
"Hahaha! Another enemy converted into a good friend. Let us all be merry and gay from now on!" Quickstep accepted the offer of friendship from Rhixar. He thought that his elders would have been so proud of him if they saw how noble he had become.
But before he could say anything more, he felt something touched his back. It was the robed assassin. It sneaked attacked again and tried to sew his back with a needle.
"What are you?" an old voice sounded. It was still undetermined if it was man or woman. The robed assassin's needle turned into powders same with his body. His offensive force rebounded on him and made him like a mushy mess.
His flesh peeled after a breath and his bones turned to smithereens, leaving only a falling black robe in the sky.
"Bouncing balls! That was disgusting! I told you that I was an Immortal Cultivation Expert Ant already. You people just won't listen to me! Still, sorry robed person." Quickstep muttered in remorse as he had taken another life unwillingly. He offered a moment of silence for the dearly departed.
