27 Chapter 27
Everyone witnessed the angel stood and leaped out from the hand print crater. It was unreal. The angel was glowing with blinding light. It stood with its imposing 15 feet height. No one would mistake the angel as human. Its wings gave it incredible speeds and great maneuverability.
What was most eye catching was its face. It was beauty personified. You could look at its face and your worries would cease to exist. Its eyes were kind. Like someone you could confide your secrets with. Someone you could pour your heartaches out and knew that he would listen with understanding and acceptance.
Normal mortals would be charmed with just a single gaze from the angel. But the moment the angel opened up its mouth, the illusion was broken. How could a being as grand as this one refer to itself as an ant? It was ridiculous.
This was also the reason that the leader and his subordinate experts were so wary of this intruder. Demon possession was not an unusual occurrence. It was frequent in the mortal realm. Even in this immortal realm some cases has been documented to happen.
Thus, the rulers of the city would not let a possessed being, even how perfect its form was, roam free near their territory.
"Stay there, demon!" Ezedius commanded the angel.
"When did I become a demon?! I'm an ant! Not some demon! Hey, what's a demon by the way? Is it the same as a devil? I saw a devil and it's ugly. Very ugly." Quickstep said to Ezedius.
"You vile spawn!" Ezedius shouted and flew towards the angel. The halted war commenced once more.
"Let us join hands to catch this demon, Ezedius." Rhixar offered to Ezedius. Seeing that the angel had gotten free, his chances of capturing the this mysterious creature alone diminished considerably. The assassin he hired was useless as well because the angel seemed immune to its magic.
"Catch? He will be slain, Rhixar! I will not let an abomination exist near my city!" Ezedius answered in midflight.
"As you wish, Ezedius. But leave his dead body to me. He has stolen valuable property from my sect. I will recover it at all costs!" Rhixar replied to Ezedius.
"What?! That's a big lie! I haven't stolen anything from you? Oh! I see! Do you mean the forest? I already apologized for it. If that isn't enough, I will make a new forest. I promise! Just give me time to plant and let it grow." Quickstep convinced Rhixar.
He assumed that maybe Rhixar was the one who nurtured that forest. He could understand now why the crazy boy was so intent on following him. He must have loved that forest so much, Quickstep thought.
"Shut your mouth, thief!" Rhixar shouted to Quickstep.
"Continue limiting his movements." Rhixar instructed his hired assassin.
"...…." The assassin did not reply with words but gave only a nod towards his employer.
"Wait! Wait! Wait! Can you all hear me out first?!" Quickstep shouted again but he was ignored by everyone.
"Should I have taken the devil or death instead? Do humans hate beautiful existences like an angel? That can't be, can it?." Quickstep thought about the many possibilities on how he got into this situation.
"Bouncing balls! My head hurts! I can't understand humans at all!" Quickstep finally arrived at this conclusion.
