23 Chapter 16

(Evan POV) :

I'm in the arena with Liza and Liza splashed water from a bucket to Lenard who was tied on the chair sleeping.

[*Cough* *Cough* W-What!?] (Lenard)

I stepped forward right in front of Lenard.

[Hey Lenard, How are ya?] (Me)

[YOU!] (Lenard)

[Not this again.] (Me)

[I WILL KILL YOU! YOU HEAR ME! I WILL KILL YOU AND EVERYON-] (Lenard)

I punched him and activated Intimidation.

[I just wanted to tell you that we've already stopped the summoning.] (Me)

Lenard flinched and was visibly scared.

Good, the intimidation is working.

[I-Impossible! There's no way!] (Lenard)

[Want proof?] (Me)

He gulped down while scared. And I leaned forward.

[The summoning was supposed to happen in the Elf kingdom during the festival...... Am I wrong?] (Me)

Lenard started to sweat a lot and wouldn't talk.

Alright! Place and Time confirmed!

I took out my shotgun and aimed at his head.

[I want to know why did you all, the cultists, intended to do that?] (Me)

[I-It m-made us one step closer in summoning the Moon Lord!] (Lenard)

[Seriously?] (Me)

He remained quiet.

Flippen hell. This will get me nowhere.

[Who's the leader of your group?]

[I-Its Valad.] (Lenard)

[Where is he?] (Me)

[I-I don't know. He never stays at one place.] (Lenard)

Well, we got the info we needed so mission accomplished.

[Oh well, go back to sleep.] (Me)

Liza karate chopped him from behind and he went unconscious.

[Well, now the place and time are confirmed. They will summon it in the Elf kingdom and I just have to go there and stop the cultists before they do the thing.] (Me)

Liza nodded

[But the Elf kingdom is very wary of strangers, How did the cultists manage to get holed up in there?] (Liza)

[We'll know once we get there. Or rather I'll go there... I'll head out with the two elves I came here with. We're pretty damn lucky for them to come to me for business. Also, take care of Luna too. She wouldn't want me to leave........And take desperate measures if you have to.] (Me)

[Desperate measures?] (Liza)

I went back to the main floor with Liza.

Looks like Lark told Tifa and Sarah about the situation, they both have a heavy face.

[The Cultists are going to do the summoning at the Elf kingdom during the festival. They probably plan to get rid of the entire kingdom.] I told them.

Their eyebrows furrowed more. And Liza went towards lark and told him something.

[Why should we believe you?] (Sarah)

[You don't have to.] (Me)

[But they almost annihilated our kingdom.] Luna said while looking at the ground.

They both looked at each other before looking back at me.

[Alright. How can we face this threat?] (Tifa)

[Hm? Why ask me?] (Me)

[Because you know about this way more than what we know.] (Lark)

[Alright then, let me tell you something........you won't be able to beat it.]

I see Lark taking out some rope from his back.

So that's what Liza told him.

[Not without my help.] (Me)

[W-What? You Promised you won't Go!] (Luna)

[I'm so sorry Luna. LARK DO IT!] (Me)

[HERE HOES NOTHING!!!] (Lark)

Lark immediately tied Luna up before she retaliated. Luna looks like as if the world had betrayed her.

[R-Reid! I swear to God if you Go to the Elf kingdo-] (Luna)

[I'll listen to anything you'll say then but right now- I have to do this. Lark, bring her somewhere safe.] (Me)

[Aye Aye Captain.] (Lark)

[REID! NOOO! PLEASE DONT GOOOO!] (Luna)

Luna started crying as Lark carried her outside.

[Well then, let's go back to business] I said as I turned back towards the duo.

[.....cruel] (Tifa and Sarah)

I ignored their remark.

[When is the festival?] (Me)

[......the day after tomorrow.] (Sarah)

[Then we don't have a moment to lose. We will go to the Elf kingdom now and stop the Cultists before they successfully summoned the eye of Cthulhu.] (Me)

They both nodded.

[Okay but you will be with us the whole time. The Elves are wary of strangers.] (Sarah)

[Alright then. Lead the way.] (Me)

[Be careful Evan.] (Liza)

[I will be. You take care of Luna. Bye Bye!] (Me)

We all headed outside.

I can finally use the Grappling Hook.

I started following them.

It's night time.

I grappled to another tree and flew straight forward at an Insane Speed.

This is amazing!

The wind was whistling past me.

The duo were jumping from trees to trees while I was flying forward way more faster. They were also left behind.

The Grappling Hook doesn't let me swing but rather go straight towards where the hook latched on. So instead of landing head on towards a wall, I would let the hook detach itself and the momentum would let me fly forward.

I grappled another tree but this time I didn't let go. I facepalmed the tree and hanged there waiting for the duo.

They're taking their time.

I grappled to a thick branch on a tree and stood there.

From the distance, I saw Tifa coming here. Sarah was nowhere to be seen and she was Jumping from branch to branch.

She finally reached the thick branch I was standing on and was out of breath.

[*Pant* *Pant* JUST WHAT ARE YOU!?] (Tifa)

[What do you mean?] (Me)

[*Pant* No. What is that Thing *pant* you have?] (Tifa)

[The Grappling Hook? It's just a thing I made.] (Me)

[.......You were even able to make the goggles too, and also know more about the cultists than anyone else.] (Tifa)

[Not really, I didn't even know that the Cultists existed till yesterday.] (Me)

[...enviable.] Tifa said something under her breath but it was too quiet for me to hear.

Tifa signed and sat down on the branch. I also sat down after her.

[We should wait for Sarah.] (Tifa)

[Alright.] (Me)

......I should talk about something.

[So, you and Sarah are very close right? I mean after the Accident she was the first one looking out for you.] (Me)

She smiled a bit.

[Yea, we are sisters.] (Tifa)

[You both look Nothing a like] (Me)

[Well we're sworn sisters to be specific... You know, I wasn't really liked in the Elf kingdom, since I'm a half-Elf. The others would discriminate a lot between Elves and half-Elves.] (Tifa)

[Why is that?] (Me)

[It's in their blood. Mainly but it's probably because I'm half human and half-elf.] (Tifa)

[So?] (Me)

[The Elves hate the humans a lot. They have always kidnapped the Elves Children. Then they would be sold out as slaves because of the similarities in both of our races. Humans really like Elves. That's why the Elves despise them so much. And for someone like me, who is a half-elf and a half human. They would take out some of the anger at me. Only Sarah was the one always there for me. So I trust her a lot.] (Tifa)

[It's times like these you would know who your real friends are.] (Me)

She nodded.

The silence is very awkward. I should probably start another topic.

[You know I was jealous of you.] (Tifa)

[Hm?] (Me)

[I saw you first when you were fending for your life against the zombies. And I was jealous that time. Your way of the sword, bow and also magic. I wanted to be like that too. But because of my reputation, nobody would teach me... I was left alone with two swords I was given at birth.] She said as she took 2 shortswords out. They were silver shortswords.

[I was left alone with these to fend for myself. I taught myself how to fight, and Sarah was mostly busy with her work and couldn't teach me. I wanted to be the one who could stand on her own feet without Sarah looking out for me. So that I could make Sarah not worry about me. And to stand on my own feet against the world.] (Tifa)

[I was jealous of how you could fend for yourself against all those zombies with just a wooden sword. But after I found out that your entire race was wiped out......Well, I just felt sad and a connection between us, like kindred spirits. You lost everything while I had nothing, to begin with.] She said as she smiled and looked at me.

[Sorry.] (Me)

[Hm?] (Tifa)

[My memory was wiped out. I only remember everything from a few days ago. So I don't know about my tribe or anything at all.] (Me)

Amnesia is the best cover I have, so might as well use it to the utmost.

Her eyes opened wide.

[S-Sorry.] (Tifa)

She fell silent and looked towards the ground. There were zombies walking around on the ground which was why we were going through the trees.

[Doesn't it feel terrifying to not know anything.] (Tifa)

[Not really.] (Me)

She looked at me.

[If I have forgotten everything then that just means leaving all my problems behind and focusing on the World in front of me. And I have to say... It's quite fascinating.] I smiled as I said that.

Tifa nodded and looked back towards the ground.

[You said you were jealous of my fighting techniques right? And I want to make up for that time too. So, I'll Teach You!] I smiled wider as I said that.

Tifa went wide eyes and Tears Started forming up in her eyes. Then she said [Y-You really mean that? *Sniff*]

[Woah! Why are you Crying!?] (Me)

She started wiping away the tears

[It's Because *sniff* nobody has ever been that kind to me before.*sniff*] (Tifa)

Tifa started to cry slowly.

[Well, we're friends right? And friends look out for each other, right? And you're not alone this time, I'm here too. And probably Liza and lark too. I don't know about Luna tho.] I said as I placed my hand on her shoulder.

She nodded and kept wiping her tears.

[WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING TO TIFA!?!] (Sarah)

[WHERE DID YOU POP OUT OF AGAIN!?!] (Me)
