16 Side Story Princess Luna part 3

(Luna POV) :

Mama was bringing me down the tunnel along with Reid who was holding papa.

In the silence, we could only hear papa groan every now and then.

[I'm really glad you're here Reid.] (Queen)

[I don't know, your highness...... I promised I would get you three to safety but here I am. Bringing his Highness with a giant wound on his shoulder.] Reid looked downcasted

The silence persisted again for another minute.

And there were two white horses in front of us.

I and mama sat on one horse, mother took the reigns and papa sat on the other horse, Reid took the other horse's reigns.

Ried took out some long capes from the bags attached to the horse and passed some to us. Signaling to wear them.

[We have to separate now. They can easily spot us if we're together. I will bring his highness to the Elf kingdom and borrow some medicine for his health. You both go to the human kingdom and rent a place. Wait for us there.] (Reid)

Mama waved goodbye one last time before going off into the distance.

Reid came back to the horse and held the reigns.

And the horse started running.

We finally saw the human kingdom It was in the distance. We both had the hooded cape on and My legs finally got their strength back.

[That's the East section of the kingdom.] (Reid)

From here I could only see the wall.

Just as I finally thought we were safe. I heard from behind us.

We looked behind and the attackers were following us on their black horses.

[These guys just never gives up.] Reid said annoyed.

[Okay Luna I'm going to fight them off and create a diversion. you go inside the kingdom and wait for me there.] (Reid)

[Bu-] (Me)

[Please Luna! I have a plan. I will surely come back here so don't worry about it.]

I nodded hesitantly.

We went near the Eastern gate and there were 2 guards there.

[Who goes there!] (Guard 1)

[Please I beg you! Please just let my sister enter inside otherwise the pursuers will kill her!] (Reid)

The guards looked at me then looked at each other then looked behind us to see a group of enemies coming here.

They were hesitant

[I will fight them off just let my sister hide inside.] (Reid)

[Alright we'll let the girl in] (guard 1)

Reid motioned me to get off and I did.

Then I went inside and looked at Reid.

[You must come back!] (Me)

[I promise] he said before he charged towards them.

[Your brother is really brave.]

(Guard 2)

[Go inside and hide somewhere!] (Guard 1)

I nodded and ran off inside before looking at Reid one final time. To see him charging into the forest with all the pressures on his tail.

I went inside and in an empty alleyway where I hid and waited.

Minutes turned into hours. Fear was clutching my heart.

(He will come back! I'm sure!)

My stomach growled as I finally noticed the hunger I had.

I have not eaten anything since the morning and it's almost night time.

More hours passed away and it's night time already.

Tiredness finally hit me and I lay down on the cold hard floor.

I'm sure he's okay! He's probably taking a detour. Yea that's right, a detour!

I finally slept.

I was trapped with fire surrounding me.

Ried was in front of me, screaming at me to run away.

But he didn't see the enemy behind him as he was going towards Reid.

I tried to warn Reid but my voice wouldn't come out.

Until a sword was pierced through Reid.

[NOOOOOO!!!] I woke up on the hard ground with sweat on me.

The alleyway was still empty.

(Just a nightmare. It hasn't happened in reality. It was only a nightmare.)

I tried to console myself but ended up crawling into a ball and crying slowly....

It's already night time again. Reid hasn't come back yet.

I'm very hungry and thirsty.

I stood up unsteadily to look for some food.

Children were running around and some had food with them.

I tried to call them but my voice wouldn't come out. Some guy was walking and he bumped into me. I didn't have any strength so I fell in the small mud puddle. I wanted to cry again but I didn't have the strength.

[Hey, are you okay!?] (???)

I looked and It was the guard from before.

[Please......anything.......I just need some....food.] (me)

[You're from before! Are you okay?!] (Guard)

I didn't have the energy to stand up.

[Wait, hold on I have some leftover bread with me.] (Guard)

He handed me a half eaten bread and I snatched it before eating it with muddy hands while still lying down. After I ate it tiredness came over me and I collapsed.

I woke up in the same alleyway where I slept before. This time there was a water bottle right beside me. I drunk it greedily and after that, I had some energy and stood up.

Has Reid came here yet?

I already knew he was dead but I didn't want to believe it.

I started walking towards the Eastern gate.

The guards must know if he came right?

Just then I saw the same familiar white hair. And my heart came to my throat.

[....Reid?] my voice barely came out.

He still looked back. And I recognized his face.

It's Him!

He was wearing glasses of some kind but it was really Him!

[REID!!!!] I started crying again and ran up to him to hug him.
