4 Chapter 3

(Evan POV) :

And inside the chest there was!

Chest :

Wand of sparking

5 iron bar

3 lesser health potions

2 invisibility potions

2 gold coin

[WOOHOO] I yelled unintentionally.

Let's see....

I grabbed the wand of sparking. It looks like a small tree branch with 2 small green leave's attached on the tip

Wand of sparking:

Damage: 8(magic)

Knockback: none

Mana cost: 2

Critical chance: 4%

Use time: average speed

Tooltip: it creates a small spark that will fly forward and light anything on fire.

It's the worst magic tool in the game but it can help a lot since I can dual wield.

I can make an anvil out of the iron.

I thought as I took the rest of the stuff

I made a new workbench since I lost the one I used before. And created a campfire

Campfire:

Gives small health regeneration when near it.

I placed it down

Current HP 46/100

My health does heal automatically but it's around 1 HP every 3 or 4 sec. The campfire should help a little.

I need to make an Anvil and to do that I need a furnace.

*some mining later*

I finally have nearly 100 stones, some clay, and several dirt blocks.

[Finally] I said as I instantly made a furnace.

Furnace:

Tooltip: can be used to smelt materials

And then I created an anvil

Anvil:

Tooltip: Can be used for advanced crafting

Alright, let's make some Things!

*after some crafting*

I created around 300 wooden arrows and some lesser health potions.

Lesser health potions:

Tooltip: heals 50 HP but cooldown of 60 sec after using one.

Wooden Arrows:

Damage:4

Knockback: very weak

Velocity: slow

I finally have arrows now I can take care of enemies from far away. let's Just do that. Yeah.

Well the sun is still high and it doesn't look like it will turn dark anytime soon so let's venture down the darkness, for now, let's see if I can get lucky

*40 minutes later*

Welp nothing much. Just more clay, dirt, stone, some copper, and some iron but not enough for anything. I also found tons of rope in some pots hidden beneath.

I always wonder but who puts clay pots in caves like these?

But that question was better off left unanswered.

Well, I should make a house outside that would be better than staying here. And a shelter is cozier than staying here. After that, I have to make some plans for the future.

I thought as I broke the barricade after making sure no slimes were banging the wall.

No slimes in sight. That's good. Now let's get some more wood and go back to the pond where I woke up its good enough of a clearing and a nice place for a house.

I hadn't looked towards the sun at that time and I didn't realize that night time was almost here.

......

...

....

I'm finally here

That took a while

I started to measure how I should build the house.

I started building.

I didn't realize until I finally looked towards the sky to see where the sun was as it was starting to get dark. I don't want to get caught by zombies that only spawns at night time and are 3 times stronger the slimes

[It's 7 pm right now..... Isn't it?] Yes, night time.

That means zombies will start spawning.

I hurried the building but I couldn't even create half of a wall until they came...

Horrifying and disgusting with their gray/green skin which would fall off little by little and they would make small groans every now and then. Some didn't even have an eye. And some didn't have an arm. That's right.

[.... Zombies]

And a horde of them too.

This is bad. This is very Bad. If I get surrounded here then there's no chance for survival.

There were 4 coming from the darkness of the dense trees.

I placed some torches nearby as some lighting is better in this situation.

I considered my options very well.

I got my sword, my bow and my wand ready to be used anytime.

I firstly equipped the bow and started shooting at the zombies continuously, the only good thing about fighting these guys is that they are very slow. 3 arrows landed on the zombie closest to me and then another arrow landed on his face before he collapsed.

4 arrows for 1 zombie huh? I said to myself trying to shake off the feeling of uncertainty.

The rest are way to close now for the bow so I switched to my sword and dual wield with the wand.

I used the wand on one zombie.

A spark was made on the tip of the wand and it shoots out towards the zombie. And he caught fire

*Skill unlocked: weapon magic enhancement.*

What?

I don't know what that is but I'll use anything at my disposal!

[Weapon Magic Enhancement!]

I said with full force while thinking how stupid I must've looked.

My body moved on its own, the arm which held the wand was on top of the hand that held the sword and then..... My hand that had the wand moved and hit the sword making sparks that flew everywhere. And my wooden sword was on fire.

(HolySh*t. MY SWORD!)

I started waving it around in hope the fire will burn out but a zombie attacked me from behind.

-47

Shit! I need to focus, "use everything at my disposal" right?

I hit back with the blazing sword

-15 (zombie on fire now)

honestly, I thought that would do more seeing as they have around 50 HP

SHIT, I might actually die!

Another zombie tried to attack me. But thanks to my good reflexes I saved myself by somersaulting my way to safety

*skill unlocked: Reflex upgrade(passive) *

I felt like the world slowed down a bit.

It was quite bizarre.

I drank a health potion so I may not get killed

+50

Well, that's better, but there are still 3 zombies left and two are on fire and.... Oh, one collapsed. They are weakened to fire? That's my advantage!

I used my wand on the one zombie not on fire and used my blazing sword to cut down the other.

That was really close I thought as I started working on making the walls again.

I only made 2 walls before another 6 zombies came.

Sh*t, there is no end to them

I quickly crafted some fire arrows which was just some wooden arrows mixed with torches. I was standing on top of a wall and raining down fire arrows I was invincible, I thought. I had the high ground I thought, but something hit me from behind.

-61

I fell down

Dam that was probably a flying demon eye. It's an arm's length long eye that flies.

Tons of Zombies were starting to surround me

I drank another lesser health potion only 4 left

+50

I stood up

I parried from one side and used the wand on the other side.

Parry and counter attack

This went for what felt like ages but It was probably a few minutes.

Wait I have an idea

If I can get a zombie arm which is a tier blue melee weapon then I can survive this. two hits from that bad boy will bring these zombies Down!

HaHa. be positive, me. If I can survive this kind of situation in the game then I can do that in real life too.

Just a plan is all I need.

I deflected another zombie attack and punched his face to keep distance.

Now finding that there will be a pain in the ass but killing elite zombies gives off a better chance of obtaining a zombie arm as they use another zombie arm for attacking

I sliced off the head of a zombie silver coins fell out and I switched to bow to shoot 2 fire arrows at another zombie before switching back to my blazing sword and lunged to deal the final blow.

The only problem with this is that they are twice as hard to kill and they would probably deal even more damage.

I switched to my bow and shot some fire arrows in the air to get rid of the annoying demon eye which was flying in the air and switched back to my blazing sword to block another zombies attack.

*Skill unlocked: Sword mastery*

*Skill unlocked: Fearless*

I heard notifications but I was too busy deflecting attacks that I ignored it.

(3rd person POV):

While Evan was fighting the zombies. An even more fearsome zombie came out of hiding holding a Grey fleshed arm.

He looked at Evan with predator's eyes before lunging at him.

2 caped figure was hiding in a nearby tree watching the fight below.

(Unknown POV) :

I looked at captain for any signal on what we must do after looking at the lone demi-human fighting for his life.

[We can't interfere] (Unknown captain)

[Bu-] (me)

[We have our orders. get the lens and come straight back. We can't risk identifying ourselves. ] (Unknown captain)

I nodded relunctly.

[I'm going back with the lens you stay here and collect his corpse. He won't

Survive a night with a wooden sword that's on fire. By my estimation, the sword will break after 6 more hits. At least give him a proper burial.] (Unknown captain)

[Yes] I said with a sad face

[And do not engage. That's an order.] (Unknown Captian)

[Yes] (Me)
