21 Levelling benefits of the system
Aaron was thrilled beyond measures hearing these notifications in his head. He had been waiting for so long to be able to level up.
As he was immersed in this feeling, the feeling of every part of his body being filled with power and strength. He heard the system's reminder.
[Master, the system recommends that you should not kill your opponents as it is too wasteful and not utilizing the uniqueness of the system to help you advance levels.]
Hearing this Aaron realised what was different this time about levelling up. Now, with the system, his current level would be squared. This meant that he had levelled up three times right now, making his current level to be at 4² which equals to 16!
Realizing this, Aaron's happiness knew no bounds.
But he wondered why the system said that killing the opponents was not a wise thing to do? Wouldn't I need the experience points to level up? So he asked the system for an explanation.
[Master, if you were to continue to keep killing your opponents, you would need to find more and more beasts like this one. Not to mention that even if you were to kill the weaker beasts compared to this one at some point even all the beasts inside this building would be insufficient for you to continue like this. Hence, the master should make use of the system in this regards. The system had previously mentioned how your level ups would be different from others. At that time, it was mentioned that even without killing your opponent, just defeating them would be enough for you to earn the experience points. Although the rewards for it would be lowered quite a bit if you were to let them recover and fight them again you would gain experience points again. This would be the most rewarding way of levelling up, the reason being, as long as the opponent is ready to battle again you would have another battle with it. In this manner, continuing to battle it multiple times would bring you more experience points which would have ended if you killed them directly.]
'Amazing!' Aaron thought.
Indeed it was amazing! How efficient it would be if he could have gained experience points from this beast lets say five times? or more? and, the beast would still be available for another round and another after and so on. He could use this same beast to level up!
He was still fine with it though, with his current strength he was not a match of this beast in a one on one fight. Although, he would definitely not die as he would be saved by his father who was standing a few metres away from him. He first needs to be at least as strong or more than the beast and that would happen only when he reached level 7² or higher.
Thinking about this, Aaron had another question. How would he be awarded experience points, based on which level? Based on the systems unique levelling, at level 4² he had the strength comparable to others who were at level 16. So how would he be awarded experience points based on? level 4 or level 16?
[Master, will be awarded experience based on his level and not his resulting strength. Meaning, as long as the master is to defeat an opponent whose level is far beyond the master's you will be awarded experience based on your level and not on your actual strength. The rules of the world dictate that as long as a weaker person or creature is to defeat someone stronger, the weaker party would be awarded higher experience points then if they defeated an opponent with similar strength. Also, the master requires a significantly larger amount of experience points compared to others, so it is not beneficial to end beasts like this one with a single battle. The system has made necessary adjustments to make sure that the master is never in a disadvantageous situation.]
This inevitably reminded him of games where you could fight the same opponent multiple times to level up. This would still only work until the difference in levels was not too great. If one was at level 80 and he battled someone who was at level 30 to try and level up, it would be with almost negligible gain from the battle.
However, this didn't apply to Aaron. He could with his current strength challenge someone whose level was higher than his. With a level 4², he could challenge anyone from level 4 to 16 and he would only reap the most reward. That was because his level would be 4² and till he reached 16² he would continue to gain experience points.
As his excitement from levelling up and learning the benefits of having the system settled down. He realized that in his previous life he had not killed this beast rather it was a much weaker beast of Rank D.
He walked forward and pulled out his sword out of the beast's head. Turning around he said to Alan.
"Thank you, Dad, for this Rank C beast! I also have a request though."
"What is it? No need to hold back!" Alan said walking towards Aaron.
"I would like to train by fighting against beast not just killing them when they are restrained like this. I know, it's dangerous so I won't fight with Rank C beasts, the much weaker ones based on my level would be enough." Aaron said.
Alan listened to Aaron's request, a frown appeared on his handsome face. After a few moments of consideration, he said.
"Alright, you can do that once your trainer is here. But you are not allowed to fight stronger ones, understood?"
"Yes, Thank you, Dad," Aaron said happily.
All of them returned to the mansion, Alan, Hana and Julia went to do their own office to take care of their business. Aaron and his two siblings were in his room. Alfie and Aoife were really cute but both of them didn't get along well.
It was not because they didn't like each other, just that their taste was very similar. This always caused them to argue with one another.
Even now both of them were arguing with each other. Aaron just watched his two cute little siblings fight. It was only a verbal fight though, so he just dazed off into thinking about other things.
"Big Brother, Alfie is cheating! We had agreed that whoever can count till the highest number would win but he is now not abiding by the agreement." Little Aoife came up to him and said with moist eyes.
Don't underestimate this cute girl with puppy eyes, she and Alfie can easily sell kids their age for a silver.
"Okay, forget about the previous agreement. I will ask you both a question if you can answer it I will give something amazing! Are you ready!?" Aaron said.
Both of them looked at each other, their eyes met the others. With fierce determination to win.
Aaron chuckled to himself seeing both of them competing for everything.
"Okay, the question is, I have two siblings, one brother and one sister. It is the same for Alfie, he has a brother and a sister, but Aoife has two brothers why is that?" Aaron revealed the question.
Both of them heard the question very carefully. They immediately started attempting to solve it. Both of them would at certain intervals glance at the other to figure out if the other was able to figure out something or not.
This was not exactly a profound riddle or anything but this was definitely something both of them would take a while to figure out.
"Also, you can't ask for anyone's help. If you do I will know about it! So no cheating." Aaron said to them as they nodded.
To both of them, their big brother was someone they adored and idolized. So they were very obedient to anything he would say to them.
With both of them distracted, he brought up the system's interface.
