19 Revenge murder

After listening to Aaron's plan, Alan started contemplating this plan seriously.

The current situation of the empire was very peaceful, no one would think that soon a war would take place. All for the sake of a few people who want to use this war for their complete benefit. Alan was not blind to this fact. He also didn't like the fact that so much blood and corpses would flow and pile up. It was unfortunate and unforgivable that the soldiers would be pawns of this grand game of wars. He was completely powerless, he could at best keep his family and subordinates as far away from the chaos of war and those bloodthirsty people who for personal benefits send countless soldiers to their grave.

Aaron's plan was very good if achieved, he could make a difference by saving families of soldiers from being destroyed.

He had many questions, but he didn't ask Aaron all of his worries. He knew that these wars were instigated by those people. People who he could not stand against by himself. People who would stop at nothing. And he had no reason to worry about those people's vendetta. The continued existence of his family's wellbeing was all he needs.

"Dad, don't think about what you can do to save people. If you become soft during a war it would be very dangerous. It is not our responsibility to protect them nor to save them from their death. Currently, we are also being treated as prey, I don't like that at all. I won't stand for people trying to plot against me or my family. Using me as a pawn is not something I will allow anyone to do. I want to break the status quo, once and for all. I want the Avrons to be not one of the ancient families, I want to make it the most powerful family of the empire and more. If you don't agree to go with my plan it would be unfortunate because the other plan of mine will be more bloody and cruel. Regardless of whether you agree or not my plans won't change. If you agree I will guarantee that it will go smoothly and the one standing on top at the end of this war will be the Avron family. You think about this while I am working on the contract for the plan. You have a week's time to decide... I also want information about everything that has been happening for the past two decades at least." Aaron said.

"Why not try and stop this war itself then?" Alan asked.

"I am not interested in doing that, it brings no benefit for us and those people won't let that happen either. It's better to use them for our benefits, cruelty has been the norm during the war, Dad, I am sure that you had witnessed this in the previous war when grandfather was the Lord. These frequent wars have kept all the families from growing too much. Our strength has been maintained but has barely improved. This decade worth of time is all we need to improve our strength." Aaron said.

"If we go with your plan, what about the current one? Abandon it?" Alan asked.

"No, continue with it. Stopping will only create suspicion on us, each family is keeping an eye on each other's progress. Our new plan requires it to happen without being discovered by anyone. When I finish the contract get Uncle Josef and the others to sign it too. I know they are loyal to us but the secrecy of this plan is of utmost importance for us. So having loose ends won't do. Also, when the soldiers are ready we will start to sell the parts at a very high price. At that time it wouldn't matter if others become suspicious of us. " Aaron said.

Alan looked at his son, this young man, no, the child had created this plan all by himself. He had his doubts, whether this plan would work or was something detrimental to his current one. But he didn't have to allocate any funds from his pockets. It would firstly completely depend on the contract and its binding of people to their cause. Without its effectiveness, it would all crumble into nothing.

Taking a deep breath, Alan pulled a data crystal from his storage ring. He pulled another similar crystal from his storage ring. Placing both of them together he closed his eyes, the Crystal in his right hand glowed brightly soon the crystal in his left hand started to glow slowly. After a while, he passed the crystal in his left hand to Aaron.

"There is everything you need to know about in this crystal. I hope that you will succeed in this plan. Good luck son. I am still sceptical about the plan. I will give you my answer when you show me the contract that can bind people for us." Alan said.

"A week is all I need. I will work Mom Julia on this to make sure no issues go unchecked." Aaron smiled holding the crystal.

"My Lord, I have urgent news to report." A voice resounded in the room.

"Enter," Alan said.

A man walked inside the room, but the doors were still shut. Aaron looked at the person and smiled. It was Uncle Josef. He went and said something in Alan's ears. Alan's expression changed dramatically.

"Is it about the murders happening this week?" Aaron asked indifferently.

"You know about this, Young Prince?" Uncle Josef asked weirdly.

"I do! It's actually not random murders. Someone is taking revenge." Aaron said.

"Revenge? How can you be so sure?" Uncle Josef asked.

"Uncle, write down everything you know about the victims on a paper. You should find out something very interesting in common with all of them. The person should be the one who was cheated by these people, in my opinion, you should arrest him only after he has killed the people he is after. It will be better if all these people are dead. Oh and this guy is not a great role model so don't go easy on him. " Aaron said with a smiling face.

"Aaron, how do you know that this is someone executing his revenge? Where did you hear about it?" Alan asked.

"It's not difficult to know what's happening in the empire, at least things that are public knowledge. I have been hearing about these murders for a while. The person who is on a murder spree will not stop until all of them are dead. Although, I am not aware of the reason for the murders it is definitely not something trivial. For now, it's better to not involve ourselves in it. Let him clean up some trash out, it won't be too late to bring him to justice. Also, make sure to make the hidden reasons and his motives public. Use this opportunity, to let the commoners know that justice was served. Oh! I gave up too many hints. If you can capture him for me that would be great I will need him for experimental purposes. " Aaron said.

Aaron stood up and left Alan and Josef stunned.

Walking out of the room, Aaron holding the data Crystal in his hand ordered the system to collect all the information from twenty years ago till today.

Aaron began walking towards Rose's office next.

Reaching the door Aaron placed the plate with complex runes drawn on it in the socket on the door. With a 'clank' the door was unlocked.

Entering the room Aaron took the entire room in his vision as he glanced at everything that was present in the room.

Rose's office was just as big as Alan's but it was filled with books and scrolls. But these books didn't seem to be used by anyone as the dust had gathered on them.

Her desk was filled with piles of papers, books which looked a thousand years old.

The number of books would very likely be the same as the study room Aaron had been reading books in. It would take a lot of time to get all the info he needed currently if these books were arranged systematically then he would directly focus on what he needed.

Aaron's mother, Rose is the most talented mage of the empire without question. She is well known in the empire for her accomplishments in Array formations and also Alchemy.

Aaron came in her office for two reasons, first to get more advanced level information about Array formations and second to gather information about alchemy. Both Julia and Hana can be considered amongst the best in the empire for Array formation and Alchemy. But Aaron knew that his mother Rose easily surpassed both of them. So to get more information about even higher level formations and alchemy formulas he had to find it from none other than his mother, Rose.

Array formation had a very wide application, there are four most basic and important uses of arrays in the empire. First is offensive array formations, this formation is completely focused on attacking. High-level offensive formations are used only when one would want to ambush someone. An unaware enemy would fall into this trap and the formation would activate itself. The damage done would be extremely unbelievable. But this type of formations is very weak if a single person who is strong enough to withstand the onslaught of the formation he could easily break through it rendering it useless.

The second type is the defensive type, these are the opposite of the offensive formations. These formations are used at military bases, the borders of the empire, at the Imperial Palace and at the Estates of the Ancient families. As the name suggests, it's completely focused on defence.

Someone as strong as Alan or the Emperor or the other Ancient family Lords would not be able to break through this formation easily. Also, this formation can detect easily if anyone tried to breach through it without destroying it. Although the offensive type is in higher in demand than the defensive type, the latter is of higher value.

The third is the Illusion Array formations, these are the most unique and difficult to come across. These formations are very different from the previous ones. They have no offensive or defensive capabilities to speak off. These arrays are used for training, to deceive an enemy and also used during assassination attempts.

The fourth one is a unique one and has very limited applications. It's called contract array formations. The best application of it is during the summoning of the beast by a mage and for a pact or contract with each other and the other one would be a slave contract. Slave contract is a very oppressive kind of contract where the slave becomes completely docile and submissive. Both these contracts involve array formations to be laid down beforehand.
