17 So that you could see my handsome face!

She was baffled. To her, it didn't matter if her eyelids were open or close. What's the difference if all one is to see is darkness or nothing?

So she opened her eyes. Aaron took a step forward, he was only a foot away from her eyes.

He inspected her face, the flawless and delicate white skin which was healthy and glowing. Her cheeks were rosy. Her lips were pink. Her eyelids were guarded by long eyelashes. She looked like a beautiful fairy.

As her eyes opened, Aaron looked at the bright emerald green eyes. He slowly placed his hand on her left soft and smooth cheek.

He continued to hold her face in the palm as his eyes fixed on her emerald green eyes.

"Beautiful!" Aaron exclaimed.

Aimée was shaken. Her face blushed. She was not used to people calling her beautiful.

"Why do you want to see my eyes?" Aimée asked curiously.

"I want to cure your eyes," Aaron said honestly.

"That's impossible! My father has already looked for a cure for the past five years. All alchemists in the empire are helpless. I won't be able to see ever again." She said sighing. There was nothing she could do about it. Being blind had become has become something she would have to live for the rest of her life.

"Impossible? It's impossible for now! The word impossible is something that is very vague. Somethings that were impossible in the past are possible today. So something impossible today would not be impossible in the future. Anyways, I will make it possible!" He said.

She went silent. To her being able to see was a distant dream. She was content with her life but every now and then she wanted to see what others were able to see. She would love to be able to see the world around her. The different landscapes, terrain, scenery, the faces of her parents and other people. What the food she ate looked like, her clothes, her room, etc.

Although she could not see, her other senses were very sensitive and sharp. She could feel the distress that her parents would feel. The helplessness that loomed their hearts. At first, she could not distinguish what these feelings were but over time she got a hang of it.

She had felt this distress countless time from her parents as the alchemists would come and diagnosed her as they left without any solutions. A feeling she was too familiar with, was felt by her from him. She didn't understand why someone who she meets today for the first time would be worried for her the same way her parents would. Others always would think of her as a pitiful and unfortunate child but this person was different.

He had a calm and gentle aura to him, even when people made those harsh accusations about him it still didn't change. But she felt a fluctuation in the gentle aura when she came near him.

While Aimée had a turmoil of thoughts going through her mind. Aaron immersed himself in the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen.

Memories of the time he had spent with her in the same spot came flooding in his mind. These memories made him heavy in the heart. Unbearable guilt and pain filled his heart as he re-lived every one of those moments.

Being able to change her inevitable fate was the best way he could think of to repay her love.

Aaron clenched her fists as he thought of this. He ordered the system.

"System, make a thorough diagnosis of her eyes and brain."

[Acknowledged! Initiating a detailed in-depth analysis of the subject 'Aimée'. Eta: 3 minutes. Please maintain contact with the subject during the process.]

These three minutes didn't go by quickly at all. Aaron was very thankful that she seemed to be in deep contemplation.

As she was thinking about why Prince Aaron would suddenly ask to see her eyes. She felt his palm gently cupping her face. Soon she felt a cooling sensation which felt indescribable. After a while, his hand retracted from her place as she was enjoying that feeling. She felt lost and wanted that feeling to last longer.

"Why do you want to cure my eyes? We just meet. My father and your's are rivals. So why go out of your way to help someone you just met?" She asked perplexedly.

"So that you could see my handsome face!" Aaron said in a conceited manner.

"Hmph. Narcissist. Be serious!" She said in an angry tone.

"I can't tell you the reason, yet. You won't believe me. And I like your father a lot. He is a very interesting person. At least based on what I have heard about him. Our father's rivalry has nothing to do with us. It's not like they are enemies. That's all for today, let's go back your mother is coming looking for you. She will think I was bullying you." Aaron said as he gazed at the female that was standing and was glaring at him for a long period. "You will be pure water mage like your mother. We will meet again Princess!" He said in her left ear.

Aaron left her side as he walked by her mother he smiled and walked past her.

Reaching next to her daughter she gently placed her hand on her head.

"Did he bully you? I'll teach him a lesson for you." She said.

"No, we were just talking. Mom, is he good looking?" Aimée asked with a blushing face.

Her mother was speechless for a moment.

"Why do you ask?" she asked looking at her daughters blushing face.

"He said, he wants to cure my eyes so I can see his handsome face," Aimée said.

"Hahhahha... well he is cute but still cannot be called handsome. With his father being handsome he will very likely be one too. Why are you looking forward to seeing his face? And how is he going to cure your eyes that almost all the alchemist in the empire, including Hana, have no solutions to?" She asked as she teased her daughter who blushed again.

"Don't know, he sounded confident," Aimée said hiding her embarrassment.

"He must quiet the sweet talker." She said amusingly.

Aaron had just walked away from the mother-daughter duo and a figure suddenly appeared in front of him. He looked up to see who it was, it was Julia.

"I was worried about you. But look, here you are flirting with a little girl already!" she said.

Aaron just smiled and didn't say anything.

Julia however didn't let this go easily. Aaron would refuse all of her claims immediately without hesitation. So today's silence was out of her expectations.

"Wait, don't tell me I already have a daughter-in-law candidate, yup she looks great! I'm all for it!" Julia said with a mischievous smile.

"Maybe, maybe not?" Aaron said with a smile.

Aaron and Julia's relationship had become very deep, Julia took him to her father's grave and started getting a clear conscience because of his motivations. Julia treated him like a close friend. Both of them teased each other at all possible chance they get.

"How about I talk to her mother, no wait, maybe it's better to let Hana talk to her. She is closer to her than me." Julia started to count chickens before they hatched and also the eggs they would lay and so on.

"Alright, Mom slow down. And don't interfere. Let time take its course. No meddling!" Aaron said to her.

"But it's so tempting! Okay, I'll back off. But keep me posted or I'll stalk you both." Julia said reluctantly.

"Really now? Do I have to report? Not happening and you also don't try stalking. Or I'll change to someone else without telling you." Aaron said with a frown.

"That's so mean! But you know your dad's going to be thrilled!" Julia said.

"Why would dad be thrilled?" Aaron asked curiously.

"Well, if you get married to her, your dad will be able to brag to her father. You know that both of them are rivals, right? So whenever they meet it is really like kids showing off their new toys and bragging. You get the idea of what will happen when you get married to her." Julia said in his ear in a hushed voice.

"Really, they still do that to this day? It sounds to me that they are very close friends." Aaron asked.

"Yes, it's quite a spectacle to watch. Hahaha... just imagining it makes me laugh. You might not know this but her father is very doting. So getting her mother to agree would be a lot easier than her father. Just free advice." Julia said while winking at him.

"Thank you...Has everyone left? I want to talk to dad." Aaron asked.

"Yeah, everyone left with weird faces... you are soon going to be the talk of the entire empire. He should be in his office." Julia said.

"What about my mother? I need her for something as well." Aaron asked awkwardly.

"She is still here for the time being," Julia said looking at Aaron's face.

Aaron started walking towards the mansion accompanied by Julia. She kept bringing up Aimée but Aaron kept silent.

As they were about to reach the second floor, both of them bumped into Rose who seemed to be going downstairs.

"I want the key to your office," Aaron said abruptly.

Rose looked at him her face showed surprise but without saying anything she tossed a plate towards him.

"Thank you!" Aaron said after catching the plate.

She just nodded and walked downstairs.

"Aaron..." Julia wanted to say something but was interrupted by Aaron.

"It's fine she must be busy with something. I have three moms, two of them are always there for me. So what's there to complain about?" Aaron said as he walked towards Alan's office.

Julia watched him walk away, she shook her head and murmured something under the breath as she left.

The guard at the door opened the door for him. Walking inside he saw the old headmaster talking with his father.

"Oh, it's Prince Aaron. We were just talking about you." Headmaster turned around to look at the door, seeing Aaron coming in he said.

"Headmaster, just Aaron is fine. I will be enrolling in the academy soon so I'll be one of your students. And thank you for coming to my assessment today." Aaron said respectfully.

"What are you saying, if I didn't come to today's assessment I would have regretted it for the remainder of my life. Anyways you might not know this but your grandfather and I are friends. Though I don't know where he is right now. He owes me a few drinks. Hhaha... And your father, Hana and Julia were my students for the final year at the academy." Headmaster said proudly.

"Yes, Aaron we were discussing or rather the Headmaster wants you to start learning at the academy right away. What do you think?" Alan asked Aaron.
