16 Meeting

As everyone was discussing the next assessment. Aaron, on the other hand, looked calm. But he had to play his role.

In his previous life, he had been very upset with today's events. The reason being, no one would like it if they were judged to be using tricks when nothing of sorts was happening. The same thing had happened before but unlike today the headmaster wasn't present back then. So no one had settled the doubts in people's minds. But just due to a single person the outcome that was previously a mess had turned into a well-organised event.

To be in his character and act his role he remembered those accusations of the people from back then which were far worse and ruthless. He found that although he thought it didn't affect him very much his mood was still affected by it.

As he got ready to act the part he had played previously, the big box with the assessment weapons was taken away.

In its place, a podium was brought in. This podium had four circular glass orbs on it they had no colour and were completely transparent. They were attached to a board that was perpendicular to the base were a metal rectangular tile on which was a complex diagram. From the top four strings were attached that connected it to the orbs above it.

This instrument was used to assess the mage talent of a person.

Aaron didn't bother with it at all. With a sullen face, he said.

"There is no need for it!" He conjured a circular spinning ring of wind right above his right hand. Then without waiting, he conjured a similar spinning ring made of water on his left hand. With that, he stomped his right leg on the floor and made a spike appear that was eight inches in length.

After he did that he turned around and began to walk towards the exit. He didn't bother with the peoples astonished faces.

After he left the crowd was horror-struck, they didn't know what to do! Everyone remained silent. As many thoughts coursed through their minds.

He has a White grade talent for swords and has a triple elemental physique? How could they continue to live? Having such talent was like telling them to commit suicide. Why were the heavens so much benevolent to him?

Julia was really happy seeing how talented Aaron is but she was worried, she knew that Aaron was looking forward to this day very much. And his expression as he left was not at all pleasant. She wanted to beat these people up! She was glad that the Headmaster had come today or this would have been difficult to sort out. Although the assessment had ended with a few problems, Aaron who waited for this day for three years patiently would not like it when people accused him of using tricks. She knew that Aaron had a proud and unwavering personality, although he was learning Array formation techniques from her, it was all just a distraction. She wanted to go after him but Hana stopped her.

"He will be fine!" Hana said.

Julia was still worried, she looked towards Alan. He smiled understanding her thoughts.

He ordered a man in Knights armour to follow Aaron.

After leaving the hall Aaron walked towards a small pond at a distance.

This pond was only a hundred metre wide and only a few feet deep. The water in the pond was not muddy, it was clear enough to see the bottom clearly. There were fishes in this pond. These fishes were a special breed that can keep the water fresh and clean. An uncommon breed of fish which couldn't be found easily.

Next to the pond was a huge tree, it was 30 feet tall. Its branches were thick and widespread, it had small greenish yellow leaves a few flowers which were blue in colour had bloomed on it. Its trunk was over two metres thick. The tree blocked all the sunlight casting a wide shadow.

Aaron went to this tree, he sat below the shade of the tree as his back rested on the tree's trunk. The scenery in front of him was really beautiful. The sun was about to reach its peak, the green mountains in the distance were clad in its golden light. A clear sky that expanded for miles, it was a mesmerizing view.

As Aaron continued to watch this scenery that was almost surreal. A man who was reaching his sixties came and stood behind him. He had hair that had started to turn grey, his face had no signs of ageing however had a few minor scars. He was wearing armour with a huge crest on his chest. It was the Avron family's emblem. A dragon coiling and breathing fire around a sword. He had a heroic aura around him.

He stood there without making a sound with his hand placed on his sword, his sharp eyes were alert as the scanned the area continuously.

"Uncle Josef, it is breathtaking, isn't it?" Aaron said without turning back to look at him.

"Yes, Young Prince. I didn't know the prince knew my name!" Josef said in surprise.

"I know everyone's name who is important, there is you, Uncle Mark, Uncle Smith, Uncle Charlie, Uncle Mathew, Aunty Kate, Uncle Jameson, Aunty Sandra, Uncle Edward, Uncle Patrick, Aunty Melissa, Aunty Nicole," Aaron said casually.

Josef was surprised, these were all of his colleagues who had worked with him for over two decades. But his young master who was only five knew all of them.

His Lord had praised his son in front of them on multiple occasions. He thought that it was only a doting father rambling on and on, but today he realised that it was not what he had thought.

Out of the twelve of them, only five had been stationed here. So if he had named them it would have been understandable. But naming all of them made him stunned. As he focused on the order of the names he found that it was exactly in the sequence they had joined their ranks over time. This made it difficult for him to believe that a five-year-old would know so much. He felt that it must be a coincidence that the names were said in such order but he couldn't shake off the reasoning that came with working as a soldier and who had always been sharp to such queues that he said them with a purpose.

"Has the young prince meet them previously?" He asked after being dazed.

"No, not yet! But I know a few things about all of them." Aaron said.

"Like?" He asked.

"You are the son of a shopkeeper on the Golden Market street. Your father still stubbornly works there even though he should retire already. Aunty Kate is from an orphanage, her husband is a mercenary, he stopped working as a mercenary for a while to take care of their two children but has resumed working again since they are now old enough. Uncle..." Aaron said.

"What about Sandra?" Josef asked. He wanted to test him. She was the most aloof one amongst them. She was also not stationed here for a long time.

"Hmm, Aunty Sandra is the only one who amongst you all adores my grandfather then my father. She is from a middle-class noble family, her family has a jewellery business. She has not married anyone. I think she still cannot let go of her crush on my grandfather....hehehh" Aaron said as he laughs.

Josef went silent. This was not something anyone knew about. He learned this when both of them had gone for a drink and she had blurted it all out. And he would not dare to reveal it to anyone. He looked at the young prince who was enjoying the scenery but he didn't say anything.

"Uncle Josef, let's talk about this later. I have a visitor," Aaron said as he closed his eyes.

Josef looked around and saw a little girl walking slowly yet gracefully towards them. She was followed by an old man in armour.

Seeing them coming he walked towards the old man.

The little girl was wearing a light yellow dress, her hair was barely reaching her shoulders. On her head was a hair band which had tiny gems of different shapes and sizes. It looked like a small crown. The gems sparkled under the sun's light. She took small steps, as she walked gracefully. But it looked cuter than anything else.

She stood behind the tree. Without saying anything a lot of time passed. She still stood there her face was facing the pond. She seemed lost in nature as if an elf who was communicating with nature.

Aaron opened his eyes and smiled, he swiped through his spatial ring as a chair from his room came out next to him that he had stored in the ring.

"Take a sit, Princess Aimée," Aaron said.

The little girl was startled. She still composed herself and walked towards the chair, all while her eyes stayed shut.

Aaron stood up and helped her get seated. He then went back to his original spot as he again closed his eyes.

After a few moments of silence, the Princess asked.

"Are you no longer in a bad mood?" a clear voice rang in Aaron's ears.

"No, I was but not anymore," Aaron said.

"Were you nervous?" She asked.

"No, I already knew that the results are going to be great. So no need to be nervous." Aaron said.

"You already knew?" she asked sceptically.

Aaron remained silent.

"I'm nervous for my assessment," she said. She didn't know why but the person next to her made her feel comfortable and relaxed. She felt an attracting force towards him, which made her very curious. So she followed him.

"I can tell you what your results would be. Wanna know?" Aaron said turning his head towards her. Looking at her closed eyes his heartfelt pain. She was so beautiful in his memories as she matured. But the beauty that would make a dark room bright could not see light. How ironic!

"Hehhe...Are you going to make a prediction?" She said as she laughed.

Hearing her laugh made the pain in Aarons' heart subside.

"Maybe, wanna try? The great fate predictor Aaron will predict your future!" Aaron said in a dramatic tone.

"Hahhaahhahhhah..." She broke into loud laughter hearing him.

Aaron continued to look at her laughing face, forgetting everything that had happened before. Her unrestrained laughter made him very happy too.

In the previous life, he couldn't stay right by her and protect this beautiful smile. It was one of his biggest regrets. Even after everyone he knew moved on, she still never forgot him.

But this time he would not let anything happen to her. He would change her fate and stay with her in this life. He would make her able to see herself.

Aaron suddenly got up, he stood in front of her.

"Can I see your eyes?" Aaron asked in a very gentle voice.
