11 Mysterious Mother

"Aaron you go back, let's have dinner together later. I want to talk to Julia in private." Hana said as she pulled on Aaron's both fluffy cheeks.

Aaron looked at both of them for a few moments and got down from Julia's lap.

"See you later then," Aaron said.

As the toddler walked towards the door, both the women present in the room looked at that tiny figure with eyes filled full love and care.

As the door behind Aaron closed up, Hana was about to get directly to the topic they were discussing previously. However, Julia stopped her by saying.

"Not right now. Let's talk when Alan's here too. I don't want to be scolded at two different times for the same thing." Julia said.

"No one is going to scold you. Well, then what do you want to talk about?... Oh yeah, when did Aaron start calling you and me 'Mom'?" Hana asked.

"Hehe... you still had the time to notice that! Well, it happened yesterday when I was in his room. I don't know how or who told him but he mentioned the thing I did to that shopkeeper back in the day. If I find out who it was I am going to make them feel what hell is! He used it to tease me with it. So I used that opportunity to get him to call me mom. It seems you got the deal with no effort at all." Julia said.

"I had always wanted him to call me 'mom' so there's no way I would overlook it. My heart felt like it was bubbling up with unknown emotions. I am going to feel all fuzzy every time he will call me 'mom'. Was it when you were sneaking around his room after having breakfast? I should have followed you. It would have been amusing to see you get embarrassed. Okay, moving on... do you know where she is?" Hana asked as she changed the topic seeing Julia glare at her.

"No, Hmph, I don't like her at all! Although we all are here to take care of him, being so irresponsible to him is unforgivable. How can she do this to her own son? Even physically or mentally disabled child would be the star in a mother's eyes. He is far from anything like that but she is completely disregarding his existence. What a..." Julia said with anger and disdain apparent on her face still she stopped herself from cursing.

"I don't like her either but it's mostly due to lack of conversation between us. We just don't understand each other. I think she should also want to be by his side. Aaron is like a miracle child. He has nothing that one could complain about. He is intelligent, hardworking, obedient, polite and he looks so cute it's too difficult to not love him if little Alfie turns out even half like him I would never let him out of my sight for a moment. I still remember how Aaron's appearance in our family made all of us reconnect with each other. Both of us even fought each other to hold him first in a very long time like that. It's so weird, yet it pleases my heart somehow. For some reason, Aaron gives me a feeling of being blessed with something I don't deserve. It's really inexplicable. It fills my heart with pride just knowing him." Hana said.

"Yeah, he is very unique. I want to see how he grows every step of the way. But you know, sometimes I am really worried about him. He keeps himself busy all the time. It's like he is drowning himself in books to avoid thinking about her. His impatience to learn swordsmanship should also be related to this. He doesn't say anything but he definitely wants to learn more about her. He wants to get recognised by her. I mean who would not want to know their own mother or be loved. To see him like this really makes me hate her more and more. With how smart he is I doubt he has not figured it out yet that he is being ignored. Yet he still tried to say those sweet things to comfort me. It's like he has his own wounds but is prioritising others well being. That kind of maturity and understanding is unbelievable to me. I wish I could do more for him but don't know where to start. Both of us love him nothing less than our own son but she is like a heartless witch. I don't understand her at all. She is hardly at home. She never talks to anyone other than Alan, that to briefly. She disappears without warnings and appears suddenly. Maybe she is a ghost? I wish to give her an earful but due to our husband's words I have to restrain myself or I would really have a fight with her already." Julia said worriedly and sighed.

"A while back before Aaron's first birthday. I asked her where she was going, what was more important than her son's first birthday? She said that she was doing some important magic research. I naturally did not believe her, so she showed me some schematics diagram of a very complex magic array that seemed unbelievable to me. Although my knowledge of Array formations is not as good and profound as yours I could tell that this was probably the most complex array I had ever seen. As I was inspecting it she took the opportunity to escape. Here take a look maybe you can tell if this is feasible or not." Hana said as rolled up papers appeared on her hand.

Julia unfolded the papers and inspected them carefully for over an entire hour.

"Indeed it is very complex, even I don't know many things that are mentioned in this. Do you mind if I keep them? I would like to study them further." Julia said.

"You can take it if you want but don't share it with anyone. With this kind of complexity if it can be restructured then it would be no small matter if anyone else learned about it. I also think that Alan is more lenient with her because of this research. This probably a part of something top secret we are unaware of, so better be careful with it." Hana said.

"Yeah! It is extraordinary. If I can understand somethings it would definitely improve my Array formation skills. I might even reach a breakthrough! Alan is most likely excusing her due to this but still, I feel indignant as how this affects Aaron. I won't create trouble for Alan." Julia said.

"Well her skills are better than ours so we can't even replace her so she can be with Aaron. It must be important otherwise she wouldn't be so immersed in it. For now, let's just make sure that at least one of us is not away from him for too long." Hana said.

"My thoughts exactly, I was planning on taking a break from work anyways since I don't get to be with the children more. You should take one too. We worked from home during pregnancy too so no reason to continue torturing yourself right?" Julia said.

"I'll take one too. If they don't might as well resign. Maybe we could be more helpful to our husband then. He is also overworking himself lately." Hana said.

They both turned silent as they enjoyed drinking tea.

"By the way, did you notice I am wearing what is called a stocking specifically a garter belt stocking. It's the thing Aaron designed, what do you think quite the attention grabber right. All the men who would usually have their eyes glued to my chest where for once looking somewhere else." Julia stood up, lifted her gown till her knees which were covered by a thin black stocking was revealed.

"So this is that? Hmm, looks nice. Let me try it." Hana said.

"I think you should wear the other one. Here you go. We can show it to our husband tonight. Hehheheh... I mean like just wearing these!" Julia said as she giggled naughtily and passed the other stockings to Hana.

Aaron reached his desk in the study room. He picked up a book and the system resumed its previous task. Even with the system, it would take a few days to go through all the books and scrolls.

"System is the deal with Mr Steve causing a deviation in the timeline?" Aaron asked in his head.

[Affirmative. Based on the memories of master a few variations have been already observed. But master must not be too concerned as the effects will be too minor on the overall timeline.]

"Explain how they can be considered minor," Aaron asked.

[Although the 'butterfly effect' is a very peculiar concept it is very difficult to determine which change to the time or history would result in a completely different outcome. Meaning even if a change is made, it has to be significant enough to cause a major change to the timeline. In other words, not every flap of the butterfly would create a tornado. For example, if the master, where to go back in time on earth and stop or prevent a person or organisation from growing/forming which would have a global effect on everyone on earth only then, would there be a cumulative change to the entire history. Changing something like saving the life of an old man by doing a surgery that was not possible during that period and the old man died a few months later would have no change to entire history whatsoever. What this means is only the most important things that affect the lively hood of masses would result in a major change to history. One would have to pull the right string to make a significant difference.]
