7 System up and running
Aaron left the room, as he walked towards the study room while the maid silently followed him along the way. He was thinking back at how that conversation with Julia had gone astray with just a few words and actions.
As he thought about this he really couldn't help but feel like banging his head against the wall. The stockings were already a deviation from the previous timeline which would bring about unknown repercussions. He had to talk nonsense with Julia to make matters worse.
He had felt that knowing the future should be a great advantage but by no means is it easy to re-act everything in the same way. He decided that he will have to have better control of himself going forth or else he might lose the advantage he has in this life.
The Avron mansion is a classic style mansion seen during the 1800s on earth. Avron mansion is huge with three stories excluding the ground floor and an underground basement. The Banquet Hall from yesterday was a completely separate building. The mansion's area was easily ranging from 25,000 sqft to 30,000 sqft. Mansions on earth are relatively smaller compared to this mansion.
The ground floor had the guest waiting area with six large couches with enough sitting room for 4 people on each at the centre of this room. The couches form a hexagon when seen from above. A large table about 2 feet high from the ground was placed at the centre with a few refreshments placed on it.
The kitchen is also on the ground floor. Only the head chef and his subordinates are allowed to enter the kitchen. Even the maids are not allowed to enter this place without permission from the head chef.
Except for the head maid who is trustworthy due to her long term of service and also she is the wife of the head chef so she is allowed inside, this also helps in better coordination reducing mishaps. These two areas take most of the space on the ground floor.
The first floor is the place where all the official business takes place. Alan Avron the lord of the Avron province has his office on this floor. There are also three more offices on the floor that belong to Aaron's mother, Hana, and Julia respectively.
The second floor is divided into two major parts, the family dining hall and the study room. The dining hall was used mostly by the family members only but often close family friends or important guests would dine here. The study room was of course filled with books on tens of bookshelf of different types. This study room could be easily be considered a large library. There was a maid assigned to clean and rearrange the books back to the shelves.
The third floor had the rooms of everyone including Aaron and his two siblings. His father's and mothers had their own separate rooms as they would often work late at night. There are extra rooms available for the guests. Access to this floor was given to only a handful of people other than family members.
Aaron spent the rest of the day in the study room reading different books and scrolls. He has been reading for six to seven months but was nowhere near to finishing all these books.
There were books about magic, arrays, enchantments, herbs, weapons, history of the empire and all the prominent families of the empire, encyclopedias, information about the various wild beast, major incidents of the empire were also included in this books.
Aaron kept his schedule tight with reading all these books every day for all this time.
Usually, the Avrons would just eat their morning breakfast together. Rarely, they are able to eat the other meals together as all of them are busy with their work.
After dinner, Aaron took a book and went to his room. He knew based on his memories that Julia won't be able to teach him about Array formations and enchantments tonight. So he read the book in his room and slept soon after.
The next morning Aaron did the same thing. After eating breakfast he went to the study room and resumed reading books. Julia had still not returned yet.
Aaron didn't like reading books very much but he had to make sure that he knew all the necessary information and as much as he could gather. He skipped the books he had read in this previous life as they were all in his head, word to word.
It was during the afternoon time after having lunch that he heard the somewhat familiar chime ring in his head. That brought him an enormous surprise.
