296 No Pregnancy For There To Be A Miscarriage
"There was no child." Lei Xinyi's voice halted Madam Li's rant and she turned to her in revulsion.
She had no issue with their internal feuds but she just couldn't stomach the thought of someone mourning her child when he wasn't even conceived, It was like jinxing it!
Pausing Madam Li blinked and tried to make a sense of her words when finally her words registered, she gasped in shock.
She pushed out of Li Yuan's hold and looked about ready to claw Lei Xinyi's pretty face, "You gold digger Wh*re! You shammed the Li Family…"
Lei Xinyi held up her hand stopping her, she rolled her eyes at the disbelief on the woman's face at being cut off like that, "First off, no. I am not a wh*re as I am not sexually active and your dear son hasn't paid me a penny as of yet.
Secondly, the situation with me was a phantom pregnancy. I had morning sickness due to a stomach bug and the pregnancy kit just came positive due to higher protein intake. There was no pregnancy for there to be a miscarriage."
This s her way of dissolving the situation and if Madam Li had even a speck of sense in her she would let this go. Calling Li Yuan a liar would not achieve anything for her so this was the best course of action.
If it was about to be a lie, she would rather have a lie where it could be just a mere default than where they would possibly reveal skeletons in their closet.
But Li Yuan saw this as her undermining his authority, "There wasn't?" He brought his piercing glare to set on her, challenging her to disagree.
"No, there wasn't." She whispered quietly yet firmly and looked away as hurt flashed in her eyes.
It hurt her to see how his ego would always stand in front of his reasoning. She was frustrated and this life sucked! So bound, so restricted! She was like a snake snatched from the wilder and caged in a glass box, she wanted to crawl away but there was no opening.
Without waiting for their reaction she went to the bathroom to dress for the day.
The warm water hit her skin relaxing and calming her. She stood under the shower trying to wrap her head around all of this. It sucked her spirit indefinitely to imagine this all lies to be her life.
She closed her eyes and exhaled. What had she done? Did she sign up for this life where they had to lie to save face about even their unborn child?! She shook her head at the thought. It was either that or she was going to be a puppet then a martyr.
The question was what else could she do? She was trapped between a rock and a hard place, it was either living a stuck up life here or throwing herself to the wolves.
She prevailingly had an intense hatred for people who tried to shame her based on underhanded comments life calling her a wh*re, for f*cks sake she hadn't even had s*x with him even once and all the time it is her vigilant chaste son that jumps her bones like a hungry beast wagging her tail for her!
Not to be a narcissist or something but why did people have to assume she was some s*x crazed beast that would seduce the men around her. She had never, until someone certain, had ever lusted after a man and if not for her circumstances she would probably be a virgin or celibate!
She was tired of people assuming she was in it for the money. She was an exceptional peerless surgeon and when a man is on death's doorstep he would even sell his soul so she could very well earn herself a fortune by slandering money from rich men! And she had her own inheritance!
She felt angry at the surrounding, disappointing with unreasonable excuses and… and hurt for GOD knows what! All these emotions were getting exhausting and crushed her. She just wanted to get all of this over with and out of here.
She was his mother. Of course, she will always be the one he would want to cushion the fall for and she was a replaceable prospect bed warmer. Her lips pursed as she held herself from trashing something, preferably his handsomely gorgeous face.
If only the woman wasn't his mother she would have ripped that pretty Botox face and showed her who was the wh*re, here. She took a calming breath when she was just a moment away from wrecking the place.
She dried herself and took a moment to herself before she could face the hails and storms waiting just right out of the door to wet her all over again.

"No, there wasn't."
He saw it and it angered him to think that she was hurt and instead of fighting it out with him she would walk away. It was like she was putting hands off a battle she thought wasn't worth fighting.
He ran his hand through his head in frustration. He thought they had developed something between them like they had progressed past the dressed lies or fancy deceits but apparently, she would rather be cooking up all the storms in her than share it with him.
He understood her. She was habitual of a rogue lifestyle, where she could do what she wanted. Running away or escaping had been her best refuge until now and it is hard for her to think that she will have to burn all the bridges to be with him.
Then she will have to live with some expectations and standards and she wanted to be a free bird. Not to mention how his family was an eye-sore for her, the most he can do is keep them at bay, he can't execute them!
It was like only he was in their relationship and she was finding every possible reason to dissolve it. His fault for falling first!
But what could he do?! He had been moving the whole city just to please her and make it finally work between them!
"There was no child…" Madam Li murmured under her breath, still trying to process the news.
Li Yuan's head snapped to her as a glare set to place, "What are you doing here at this hour, Mom. And next time please knock!"
Though he wasn't particularly disturbed Lei Xinyi was but for his mother to see him in this position can't really be comforting and there was a chance she could have entered minutes later when he was far in too 'deep' in her.
Now That would have been mortifying…
In any case, he didn't want to disregard his mother in front of Lei Xinyi just as he didn't want to argue with Lei Xinyi in front of his mother. They were two women who were there to stay in his life and he was in no way ready to see a power play for a lifetime.
The two high-headed women would never concede and he wasn't aiming for it either. They could just survive co-existing and he would be the happiest man on Earth. He didn't want to spend the rest of his life trying to pull their hairs out of each other fists.
Madam Li pouted and pushed on his chest with her every word, "So now that she is here, this is how you will treat your mother?! Was she the one who suffered 21 torturous hours bringing you into this world, so you talk back to your mother?!"
He held her hands that were pushing in futile efforts on his chest, "Mom, stop it!"
Madam Li glared at him and sneered, "That woman in there lied to you to be pregnant with your child! She impersonated to be your fiancé for your fortune! For f*cks sake she is a murder and someone your ancestors fought years against…"
"Your son is a murderer too and so are you!" Her mother stilled at the statement, in her jealousy and rage she had made some cruel moves but it stung when her son rubbed it in her face, "Like here every man in this family has his hands on blood before he reaches a legal age so drop it!"
He turned away and ran his hand through his hair in agitation. He turned to her with stern tone, "Mom, that woman who you just called a wh*re is the woman who will be your daughter-in-law, the mother of your grandchildren and the wife of your son and this is out of f*cking discussions!" He ended with his jaw clenched.
Madam Li froze for a moment as her words stuck in her throat, she had a lot to say instead she only nodded her head.
He was an exact carbon copy of his father but he had never treated her as his father treated; like she was a retard, a flat tire, a bother. He had never shouted at her before.
Her son was the only one in the world she could call her own and now… even he was slipping through the cracks of her fingers as a beautiful woman entered his life and no matter how tight would she fist her hands that wouldn't make him stay.
Her heart beat like raindrops drummed the ground and her eyes burnt with the building pressure.
He read her eyes as he read Lei Xinyi's and pulled her on the bed to sit. Hugging her tight, he kissed the crown of her head. The floodgates keeping her heart locked together broke and tears welled up in her eye.
She hiccupped and burst out, "I just want you to be happy and… safe…"
