291 Boyfriend

"Lu Xinyi, I was upset. I didn't mean…" Lu Xinyi raised a hand to stop him to utter another word. He watched her in stunned silence at the confidence she had grown.

Recently she had developed a backbone. Every woman does when she is providing for herself. Nothing compares to that kind of sense of freedom, not even sky diving!

"When we are upset, we talk about it, fight about it! You are not collaborating with firms; you are in a connective circle with people in it! People who live, feel, and get hurt! The people you can't shut out or just give up on because you are 'upset'!"

She sighed, "You know how it's like? I have never been with a guy romantically, in fact, I had limited human interaction in life! I hadn't evaluated how I felt about you at that time. My last fiancé is your cousin for GOD's sake! My life was so packed up with many things weighing me down. And I wasn't ready to start a relation…"

Yu Youhan's eyes shot up to meet her dead set, "You weren't? Are you now?"

Lu Xinyi furiously reddened, and all her big girl pants pooled on her feet and she started blabbering, "That's beside the point! The point is that you only think about yourself, you are selfish, conceited, arrogant, narcissist, a Meany…"

Yu Youhan held her both hands in one and positioned her chin lightly with another, forcing her to look at him, "Are you ready now?" He asked clearly.

Lu Xinyi's eyes widened at the direct approach to the question and struggled to form a response. 

Meanwhile, Yu Youhan was looking at her expectant and with apprehension. He didn't care what her answer was going to be. If she was ready then it would save then courting but if she wasn't then he would woo her till she was.

"Yes." A barely audible whisper left her but he heard her and his hold on her hands tightened.

"Are you ready to be in a relationship with me?" He asked her slowly in a placid emotionless tone, making sure she understood the amplification of her words.

Staring at him with a blank look, she contemplated if she was. Was she? But would she ever be? she did clearly felt something for him and she needed to explore where it would lead. She knew there was no turning back if once she walked on this path but hesitantly nodded.

His stern look didn't falter even for a sec as he demanded, "Words!"

Pursing her lips, she steeled her resolution before confidently uttering, "Yes!"

A grin split where once his frown was, he lifted her by the waist and spun her around, her arms tightly wrapped around his neck. Contagiously, Lu Xinyi broke out in a wild flutter of giggles.

He placed her back on the sofa with her arms still around his neck and her waist caged in his hold. The distance between them was mere insignificant inches as she gazed in his eyes like he was the magic in the meadows, he was drowning already in her so he took a dive instead and connected his lips to hers. 

He kept his lips on her, giving her space to push him away. When she didn't he moved his lips against hers. She stayed still as he kissed her but made no efforts of backing out. 

She was sweeter than he imagined her to be, she smelled fruity and tangy, too enticing to resist.

Just when he was about to coax her to kiss him back, she tensed under his touch and roughly pushed him away.

She stood up and glared down at him with accusation and vexation as the spell was broken and the realization sunk in, "You just took my first kiss!"

He froze for a moment as the realization hit him like a brick too. How could he have forgotten?! Lu Xinyi was Li Yuan's fiance who he never bothered with so she must be... GOD, she must be untouched and sheltered!!

He had just taken her first Kiss without her consent, his fist tightened as his eyes filled with remorse as shame washed over him. He parted his lips to excuse his behavior, "I…"

But Lu Xiniyi was inconsolable at this point; she started pacing and furiously burst out, "All my dreams and desires are now shattered! I wanted my first Kiss to be at the sunset or on a beach or under a waterfall on a hot summer day or in Paris in front of the Eifel Tower or under a full moon But what did I get after all the wait 'a First Kiss on the couch' after makeup!"

Yu Youhan stared at the scorned beauty in front of him who was more offended that he had taken her first Kiss without a special location than that he had taken her first kiss. The smile on his face was instinctive, she was irresistibly cute! 

At once on his feet, he held the fuming woman by the arms as her glare intensified as it zeroed on the culprit.

He gave her a peck on her lips which turned the glacier colder than ice. He smiled down at her and caressed her cheeks, "It's all forgotten. It's between us, we will pretend like this didn't happen and then we can have your dream Kiss."

"Between Us?"

"Yes!"

"Dream Kiss under a full moon in Venice on a boat?"

Grinning he nodded, "Anything."

Lu Xinyi glared at him still but his words sunk in eventually and she nodded.

Yu Youhan smiled and kissed her on the cheek, "Good, Baby girl. Now tell me where I can crash for the night."

"There. The room has fresh sheets and it is cleaned thrice every week like the rest of the condo." She pointed to the guest room beside her room and then it registered in her head that he was planning on staying the night!

They sat back in front of the movie but Lu Xinyi fell asleep halfway in the film and Yu Youhan who was already tolerating the film sat at once, turned it off, and carried the sleeping beauty to her bed.

He had carried her several time to bed because her this particular habit of falling asleep anywhere, anytime but today it swelled his heart like no time before. He was finally going to have the woman he so desired.

Kissing her on her forehead he cradled the treasure in his arms closer to his chest. She was too precious and innocent. He had to keep her safe from the world and from himself.

He laid her on the bed when her eyes opened and stared at him, "Are you my… boyfriend now?" She asked in a sleepy whisper as if she was committing conspiracy.

He held her hand and kissed the back of it, "Yes, Baby Girl. I am." She smiled and fell asleep.
