281 She Should Be Scared

"Oh?" Lei Xinyi quirked up an eyebrow to humor him and played along, "What would that be?"

He smiled at her cheekiness and flickered her nose than consciously deliberated, "In the honor to people who had been here before us and to the people who will arrive here after us… You can only talk here, you can't yell or shout."

Lei Xinyi's lips half curled up in amusement before his double meaning grazed her mind and her face instantly darkened in absolute fury

"Are you insinuating that I start all the fights?" She pursed her lips giving him her best stink glare that could scorch skin if kept under a magnifying glass.

"No, I was talking about myself." He deadpanned his face elaborating how unimpressed he was with her interrogation.

He was saying it like, it was a basic fact that she was the one who was always the cause of discord. He might as well shout out to the world that she was a crazy nutcase!

Lei Xinyi pursed her lips at his sass and glared at him. Li Yuan returned it with a deadpanned look of placidness as if he was standing steady for the honor of rightfulness!

They had an intense stare competition for a while before Li Yuan broke out into a lazy grin and pulled her in his arms. Not able to stop her own smile from creeping on her face she giggled and gave him a good punch on his chest as her retaliation which hardly faltered his solid male-ego but provoked him enough to come up with a comeback.

He peppered her face in kisses as retaliation and tickled her on her sides where she was the most ticklish. Not a moment later Lei Xinyi was a hysterical mess of shrieks, laughter, and curses.

She scratched his wrist hard with her manicured sharp nails, drawing bloodlines to make him stop his ultimate torture on her but he stayed persisted only relented after she threatened to cut off his d*ck when he was sleeping.

Having played around to their heart's content they ordered food and soon ended up eating deserts. The maids cleared the table in seconds.

While his moon was observing the wide awake lonely moon on the sky he took out the crest of the reason he was here from the back of the divan. He placed the box covered with frilly satin ribbons on the now cleared glass table.

The velvet magenta box with feathery black ribbons caught Lei Xinyi's eyes in the peripheral view almost instantly.

She turned her head with a snap to the box and incredulously glanced at Li Yuan who had a smile of prospect hanging on his lips as he lazily leaned back waiting for her to claim what he had bestowed on her like a King.

Lei Xinyi pursed her lips at his edgy resolute tone. It was bound to be, his shift in attitude was bound to be but she was hoping in the back of her mind it would take a course like a time of decaying took place.

She glanced down at the rectangular box and sighed before extending her hands for it.

She clipped open the box and her hand froze on its edge. She held her breath as her heart beat at a rate she knew wasn't humanly possible.

As a collector, their worth reflected like a flashlight in her eyes. There were aligned at the parallel line of its edges. Three gemstones all 1 carat on the left side and on the other side the same jewels but in 5 carats. Other than that there was a square box encrusted in the middle.

Two rare blue diamond in a heart cut, two jadeite in a princess cut, and two round shaped emeralds; each set had one small and the other larger gem. She lifted the 5-carat blue diamond a little and her eyes shone in recognition.

She at once felt a little constricted in the open air. She had assumed he would let it all flush with sand on shores but he kept track of it. What else had he kept track of?

Her one-carat ruby sure was no comparison to all these stones laying in front of her eyes and she was sure as hell they had trackers in them too.

No, she had no shame in shamming him out of these but that was if she stole it, scammed it, or whisked it away while being handed something after a long time felt insulting, and her ego was bruised.

Now, she knew, he was filthy rich. If she had a flicker of doubt somewhere prior to it but her mind was clearer than ever now and she could tell he was an eccentric, lunatic, and outrageous man.

Now things were making better sense to her… He wasn't inquisitive, he was possessive! He wasn't peculiar, he was psychotic!

Behind his mask of playfulness, he was masking his manipulation and the smirk growing on his was a sign he knew she was catching up.

For the first time, her situation was dawned on her like a slap on her face. Li Yuan was insane! On more levels than she was... She had escaped the murky waters to land in the puddle of quicksand.

She should be scared… But she wasn't. She was more thrilled and curious. Maybe his lunacy was rubbing off on her or maybe it was her all along.
