280 An Unspoken Rule
"It's Okay. I got you. Just walk straight." He whispered suggestively in her ear from behind, swaying her in paths all fogged to her. She was hesitant in her steps as she had never taken steps on blind-belief for anyone.
Lei Xinyi followed his words like they were a holy sermon, which they may as well be in her current state of sightlessness.
He had blindfolded her in the car and forced her to follow the instructions of his hands that were placed on her waist as they guided her in any direction he wanted to take her.
Apparently, the location was a surprise or maybe the venue was exclusive. She would be lying if she said she wasn't bubbling out with anticipations. It would hardly take a hint for her to rip the black cloth off her eyes. Not because she was anxious about what she couldn't see, she just knew she could trust him. She was just too clammy.
With her incapability to observe her surrounding she was subconsciously leaning in the embrace of the man behind her for support.
In her heart, she was chary of how easily she had let Li Yuan blindfold her and take her anywhere in his mind that too without a single thought of hesitation. She was walking on a thread-thin-rope. Nobody should be trusted and she was too far gone to submit her neck to him willingly like that.
He could caress it and he could snap it…
Maybe she was getting wilder and close calls were her new thing but she wanted to see where closing her eyes for once in her life would land her and what giving the front seat to a stranger felt like.
She felt the soft slipping but not sticky surface beneath her plumps which was indication enough that it was on the sand she was stepping. Dry sand.
Sand meant the place was a desert or a seashore. She was betting on later as it was most likely. Heavy chilled winds that were hitting her face were testimony to her winning bet. It was definitely a seaside.
She yelped when her foot skipped a step but Li Yaun kept her steady. She hissed and clutched his arm on her waist tighter, "If it's one of those practical jokes where you make me bump into a pillar. I am going to roast you till your bones turn to ash!"
He burst out guffawing and picked her up by her waist causing her to squeal. He wrapped his arms around her and lifted her secured in his arms, "I am counting you on it."
He ascended some steps, she was guessing of a higher platform, and helped her back on her feet. From the lack of momentum, she clutched him tighter as she steadied herself.
"I can take it off now?" She kept her hand on the silk band, which was limiting her vision from the world.
Li Yuan held her hand on the blindfold and spun her around. She felt him pepper a kiss on the corner of her mouth and stilled, her body taking receptors from his. He cupped her face with his hands and his lips fell on her taking her breath away.
He kissed her with fervor and she returned it with an equal passion. He deepened the kiss and somewhere in the kiss freed her eyes off the restrains from the outer world.
She peeled her eyes open. Her first hazy vision was of his charcoal back eyes. She blinked to clear her vision.
When finally her eyes took everything in, they widened. The golden and white gazebo she was standing in was ethereal! It was like a platform of heaven. There was a divan placed in front of a glass table. The five pillars holding it together wore illuminated synthetic Carolina jasmine vines wrapped around them with the carpels illuminating as the only source of golden light in the quixotic setting.
In the dark night with nothing but the moon hanging the intimate setting was even more breath-seizing. Her head rapidly moved in awe trying to take everything in.
The golden soft glow was too intimate and the white was regal, a combination royal yet romantic.
There was small bushes kind of random clusters buried in the sand with white roses around a crimson red that shone with light from its core, adding a warm glow to the surrounding. She was too entranced to speak or tear her eyes away from what she was witnessing. It was too surreal.
Now that they were closer than before she could even hear the faint whispers of the sea as it kissed the shore or as their one bed collided with other diminishing and birthing chaos in the calm, lonely night.
If before she assumed she looked ostentations for a beach date now she paled with the virtually too dreamy surrounding. Words stuck in her throat and she felt like she was unworthy. The thousand-dollar fabric that clung to her skin made her feel cheap.
The place reflected more than just a golden or blush glow, it shone brighter with the fondness of the man who she has trapped in deceit yet again.
When he had told her to prepare for a date, she had assumed a private room in an extravagant hotel was what it entailed. This setting was too private…too intimate for her malevolent lies and deceit.
Li Yuan who was watching her from the sideline with his back to the pillar raised a brow at her varying emotions being displayed on her face. She was always such a blank canvas, it was hard to guess what her next mood would be but right now she was all too exposed...vulnerable.
The wonder, elation, animation, and remorse phased on her beautifully crafted features life sun completed his half-cycle from gracious dawn to callous dusk sucking her in.
It wasn't a mystery at this point what was going through the window of her mind. She was happy by what he was presenting her to, she owned it all like a Queen but the knowledge that she was planning to not ascend the throne and rather betray the King was eating her.
She was too precious at this point to him. She really thought she wasn't transparent enough to him that he could tell past her smiles and glares. After he was going to resolve her issues for her she was going to con him again and be out of his sight…
He almost wanted to pinch her cheeks for being so naïve. She really thought she could escape him or if she could ditch their nuptial plans this time around. There was no corner on Earth he wouldn't chase her to…
She was his. She didn't have a choice but he wanted her to choose him.
So there were hardly any grains she was helping grow with all this thinking. It could take years or months but it will be his arms she will fall eventually.
Hence to get her out of her misery, he leaped at her and embraced her in his inviting arms, and after a momentary flinch, she melted right in.
"How is it, Sweetheart?" His inviting arms were blanketing her from behind as they wrapped around her abdomen, she almost felt too safe to consider it home.
"It's…It's magnificent, Li Yuan!" She cried out in awe and wonder. The waves hitting the shore, the glistening lights on the sand illuminating the place were like scattered stars in a desert sky, it was in reverence to magnificence only!
A grin took over his feature, it flared his ego that a woman as hardcore as his Raven was impressed by his effort.
Even the minute petals were designed by him and were crafted by the professional on short notice. He could have taken her on any later date but the right time in harvesting relations was the key.
Lei Xinyi wasn't a woman who dwelled on things so the best way to confront her was to corner her crowded mind. It was his way of showing her how he could have time for him, anytime. What was a better way than a mid-working-week date?
"Not more magnificent than someone I know." He kissed her cheek and led her to the divan, making her sit close to him so there wasn't a hair breadth space between them. Lei Xinyi looked at his Kinder Garden move and scoffed in amusement.
But then he raised his index finger as if he remembered something, "Though this place has an unspoken rule."
"Oh?" Lei Xinyi quirked up an eyebrow to humor him and played along, "What would that be?"
