270 The Most Beautiful Many Would See

He wanted to beg her to stay where he could keep an eye on her. Where he could be the protector he was supposed to be to her as an elder brother but he knew, she wasn't safe with him and this will be like asking her to suicide. Especially now with that bastard Li Yuan on her trail.

He could only wish where ever she was staying she would stay alive and healthy, this was their time of survival and he was hoping she would make it out alive.

"This time I plan on having a little entertainment and there is no way they can stick up a good show without the b*tch of the house." Lei Xinyi crooned although she knew he was apprehensive for all the right reasons. 

If she is found, they wouldn't take her for investigation they are going to take shots at her. This was all already past fancy words and coarse alliance. 

"Lei Xinyi, stay away from the underworld that asshole Li Yuan is looking for you like a mad dog on artificial hormones!" He told her with worry marring his tone.

She burst out laughing. It was beyond her why they all had such colorful thoughts about Li Yuan, "Yeah, totally. I would stay out of his hair." But no promises about his bed.

Lei Xinyi could hear the loud relief in his sigh, "Good, the man is deranged and vicious, stay away from him!"

Lei Xinyi hummed and smirked.

'If only he knew…'

"Who was it?"

Silence erupted after his question perching Lei Xinyi's heart a little. Though by far both of them knew the answer, it was always hard to voice. The predator was one that they had no defense against.

The Lei's though weren't permitted in the country or in any other market because of the Li's but they had mastered the art of deception and they knew all the loose canons in the business. They were like snakes in the grass, you wouldn't know of them till you are bitten and withering in your death bed.

They didn't even need to be around to kill you they knew how to make others do their dirty works. Lei Xinyi had seen it for her own self all these years.

The incident where she washed off her hands with Viper and how Yi Yang almost killed her was the best of examples!

He had the Lei's resources at his disposal. If he pleased he could order their heads and they will be in a body bag in the next 24 hours.

Lei Xinyi jaw tightened as her face set in a scowl, "Who else? The Bastard 'grandfather' of ours!"

Jiang Cheng quietened after the confession. In the back of his mind, he knew it already but after hearing it, he was reliving the memory of the blood of his half-sister that was spilled.

His half-sister, who had fallen to the schemes of that snake... She followed all his eccentric orders in the aspiration to live against all her siblings and when he had no use of her, he disposed of her...

He closed his eyes as his breaths became irregular; it was like resurrecting her and spilling her innocent blood on the barren land all over again.

With a new-found determination, he opened his eyes again. "We will avenge all the blood loss and all the blood spilled." He promised.

With the same ferocity as him, her heart raged at the memory too, "By GOD, we will!" She vowed back in assurance.

Taking a deep breath, Lei Xinyi continued, "This time I want to wrap up this circus for good. The clown isn't that hilarious anymore."

"I am with you. Just command, I will lay my life for you."

Lei Xinyi burst out in a humorless chuckle, "Dear Brother, I need you alive, there is some other f*cker who has made his bed. No more blood will be lost and no more of us will go into hiding!"

"In time."

"In time." Lei Xinyi affirmed.

Jiang Cheng vowed back and after little formalities, she hung up. It was a bet on their life but this was a price they were ready to pay. They had been on defenses for years but what good had it done to them?

Even after living lives like that, they weren't given funerals, tombstones, or memorials. They were like shadows that appeared and disappeared in the dark abyss.

But now when their Grand Master was going to make a show out of them, they will retaliate but it will have to wait till their coward Grandfather would be out of his dens where he wouldn't be that invincible anymore.

She will wait patiently till that time, setting all her pawns in position. She needed to grasp power and influence as fast as it can be received.

The car stopped and Lei Xinyi got out of the car to go to her room. She passed several servants who bowed to her out of respect and she couldn't help but roll her eyes. 

They act as if she didn't know what was said about her behind her back or as if she didn't know it was coming from their Master's hand.

"Madam Lei." 

Lei Xinyi halted at her name and turned around to see Butler Yang standing there with a respectful bow to him which all but looked forced.

She wanted to claw everyone's faces here. How she hated pretentious b*tches! They are the ones who really bit you on the butt all the while gaining the brownie points!

"What?" Lei Xinyi raised her brow and retorted in an obvious exhibit of her frustration at the man's interruption.

She was no gentle and kind-hearted foolish princess. She was a scorned Queen who was dethroned from her rightful crown. And right now she didn't want to play pretend with anyone and act nice.

In these little servants heads, they called her a wh*re who was living off their Master's money by bewitching him on her charm, painting her as a sexual predator. She couldn't wait to get out of the situation!

She was already tired from all the pretending she had done with that little chipmunk.

The Butler acted like he didn't notice her sour mood and coolly informed, "Young Master Li wishes to take you on a date and therefore has informed me to bring into your knowledge that you must dress in accordance with the event."

Lei Xinyi narrowed her eyes on him in hostility to see if there was a catch to it all when she found nothing; she huffed and walked to her room to fresh up and take a little rest before she had to prepare for their first 'date' that he didn't ask her for nor she agreed to.

Typical Li Yuan! According to him, the most gentlemanly act was to uniform her of his plans!

Later in the afternoon, three maids were tending to her, dolling her up for the supposed date. Lei Xinyi didn't say a word and let them do their work. Today was the night Lei Xinyi would show him who held all the cards and who was leading who.

And here needed to be some ground rules for it all to work…

As the makeup artist did her job and the hairstylist was about to begin the Housekeeper Yang waved her hand dismissed them. They looked at her in bewilderment and then their eyes fell on Lei Xinyi who had an offhanded look.

The three of them looked at the two stern women in a seize power play and decided to leave the battle zone.

Once they were gone The Housekeeper came forward and held the wooden comb off the vanity table. She ran it on Lei Xinyi silky straight long hairs sorting the knots.

Four months without a hair cut had grown her hairs past her waist and they fell irregularly past her waist almost covering her ass.

She smoothens down all the knots without a word humming in approval of the silky, smooth dark mane. Her hairs weighed and her head must ache with the weight of her mane.

She picked the sharp scissor from the vanity table and cut the ends of her hairs about four inches making them even. Lei Xinyi observed the middle-aged woman taking liberty with her hairs but didn't comment. 

She was thinking of cutting her hairs short till they reach her waist already because of their heavyweight that had almost stretched her neck when she is in the shower and such long hairs were a constant bother.

Housekeeper Yang divided her hair into two sections one wider than the other and combed it till it shone.

The middle-aged woman was striking in her features and figure even now. She was a half Chinese like her husband. One could tell she was a heartthrob in her youth. Such a delicate beauty in the corporate corrupt mafia world... for her to be here she must have a story too.

While Lei Xinyi was observing her the said withering beauty was observing her too, "You are a beautiful woman, the most beautiful many would see." The Housekeeper suddenly said Lei Xinyi's eyes flung up to hers, "Enthralling, ravishing like the dew on a rose petal…such beauties have tough lives."
