269 Master's New Fiancé
Lei Xinyi got into her backseat of the car assigned to her that she had taken here, the driver was already on the stand by. Su Qing and the little chipmunk left some seconds prior.
"Where to, Madam?" The driver faced the front of the windshield mirror and didn't dare glance back at her.
Lei Xinyi turned her attention to the stiff driver with a builder's buff body and repled in a stern command, "Drive home. Take a detour around the bustling market areas."
'Home?!'
The words left her mouth before she acknowledged them to even her own self. She held the urge to groan out in a childish fit. It had hardly been two days playing home with Li Yuan. She sighed irritably, it was getting to her head already!
The driver looked at her a bit apprehensively but even his blank look conveyed her his astonishment. Lei Xinyi scowled and raised her brow in challenge.
The driver at once turned around relenting and catching himself in the act of defying his Master's fiance and nodded, "Sure, Madam."
He made sure to make subtle eye contact with his comrade who was monitoring the perimeter several meters away. His comrade replied with a blink of his eye and he knew the man would report to their Master of the new plans.
He fairly had no idea of the cause of her orders but there was no way he was shielding in front of their enraged Boss if their future Mistress was playing some tricks or worse trying to escape. So it was better to be safe than sorry.
The woman was complicated. They have been informed of her status as their Master's new fiance after the great ruckus that was created by her rescue retreat. And nobody wanted to test their Master's limit, not when he himself a commander in his X Force was assigned to her as a mere driver. The Elites guarding her a proof enough of how high their Master held her in regards.
Lei Xinyi sure saw the little exchange and rolled her eyes at their itty bitty precautions. It was totally useless, not like she had anywhere to go!
If she was out of this car, she was as good as roasted chicken for devouring on a sailor's table.
She slid the divider. She wanted to make a call of importance so she waited for the car to get on the road. The phone was untraceable but not when she was on the line so in her best opinion it was best to make the call on the road when they were running.
Her Bastard Grandfather knows she was in Li Yuan's protection but he didn't know where he was keeping her. Initially, she had suspected that they had planted a tracker in her body but after a little inspection, she confirmed they hadn't, as Li Yuan's security system would have deduced it by now.
For assurance, she decided to visit the appointment Li Yuan had set for her in his family hospital. This nepotism would just make sure that there was no need for identification before the check-up and her privacy can be secured.
She fisted her hand in suppressed rage. She hated being toyed with and they truly crossed a line.
She was acting pretty cool like it didn't affect her but she was rolling in nirvana inside. After Yi Yang, one thing was clear none of the Heirs were to be trusted. He was her brother, elder brother she had wandered off in his courtyard before she could even walk properly but he didn't bat an eye before sending her to the gallows.
Her eyes burned with unshed tears and a sinister smirk took over her features. When he had crashed her she was lucky to have taken a turn so her left sides were the only thing hurt.
If she hadn't, she could have hit her head and it would have split open in the instant with the impact at the speed she was running her bike, without immediate medics, she would have died a horrendous death. Even then he didn't have decency enough to send her to the real help.
If she had internal injury she would have died a brutal death on the bed that he lay her with an incompetent nurse.
Every time on that bed a wave of pain crushed her soul she kept a cool face on, she was that much psychologically sick. Yi Yang did more than the physical damage; he had given her insight into the world she lived in.
For what? Just power, his burning greed. For family, she was ready to surrender her own life and readily die in the hands of her own blood but after this, she had mixed feelings about all this.
This is how the valor of great wars must have felt like when they were slaughtered at the hands of their own loved ones when they had slain the world to keep them safe.
Now she wanted to live, she wanted to kill but she would wait for the right time. She had thought, she deserved to not live because she had no one to live for but now she had changed her mind.
No serpent deserved to live more than her! Li Yuan was his shield and sword in the battle, till she had him, she could do anything from his shadows and would still stay invincible. She didn't care she was using him, the man was literally rubbing on her to use him no matter how much she tried to pull away from him!
With a determined face, she smirked and dialed the number, she had been planning on.
An irritated male voice bellowed from the other side, "Who is it?"
Lei Xinyi smirk stretched as she took out her compact mirror from her purse, "Hey stranger!" She chirped a little too enthusiastic than she felt.
Lei Xinyi heard something breaking from the other side and a lot of shuffling, then a desperate whisper-yell as if he was a little loud he wouldn't hear her ever again, "LEI XINYI! How…What…Where are you?!"
Lei Xinyi took out the sunglasses, followed by the wig, sh turned on the speaker because as a matter of fact, she knew that the divider was soundproof and this get-up was itching her now.
Lei Xinyi burst out laughing, then teased in a little too sweet for his preference, tone, "Well, f*ck you too and there is no way I am telling you where I am but just know I am getting lots of libido offerings."
It wasn't like she didn't trust him, but it was because she did trust him at the same time she loved him more and she didn't want to have to kill.
There was silence on the other side, the only thing making her aware of the presence on the other side was ragged breathing and Lei Xinyi knew he was crying.
She absent-mindedly undid the tangled knots in her hair then bounced them to make them presentable. She knew that brother of hers was too damn sentimental despite his hard exterior. Her disappearing, hiding, and being their toy saddened him but there was limited options of what they could do.
Her own cold tear fell, one of rage than distress. She was shedding tears about what she was going to do, the trust that she lost. Everyone who would raise a shot on her was already dead to her. She was going to make sure they get body bags.
After a silence of what felt like hours but were mere seconds, Jiang Cheng mumbled with horse heavy voice, "I didn't need to know that and… We thought…I thought…There was this bo…body…"
Lei Xinyi wiped her cheek with the back of her hand and laughed to amuse him, "Duh…! F*ck you twice! There is no way I am getting of your ass easily!"
"I…I am happy, Lei Xinyi." His voice was thick like his clogged emotion in his throats, "I was worried...I was scared who would walk me down the aisle if you just decided to be shipped to the nether."
With no humor they both shared a heartfelt laugh, "When can we meet?" After a while he pleaded. Her voice wasn't enough assurance, he wanted to see and touch her to know she was real. She was here and not going to fade as she did in his nightmares.
Lei Xinyi wiped the makeup on her face with a soft smile on her face. She hummed and said through pure anticipation for their reunion, "Soon. We can keep in contact and the phone is untraceable so don't bother your ass with that computer."
Jiang Cheng fingers stilled on the keyboard he was trying to track her with and a smile rose on his face. It was definitely her, his annoying little sister, who could all but predict him.
He leaned back on the seat and his smile faltered as a thought crashed on him, "Are you…Are you back for good?"
"Where to, Madam?" The driver faced the front of the windshield mirror and didn't dare glance back at her.
