245 Carbon Copy Doppelganger

After several seconds of his departure, Su Qing and He Zheng stood frozen like in Medusa's charm struck them to be stone but when finally the situation finally sunk in they gasped.

With it the tables were flipped, now Lei Xinyi was meek while her 'siblings' smug!

He Zheng looked at Lei Xinyi in utter disbelief, "You…he…What the f*ck?!"

When he had initially sought Li Yuan he had assumed that his interest in her was because he wanted something from her, when you are in the Mafia business it doesn't seem like a weird request and there were many people looking to make acquaintance with Lei Xinyi for her medical skills, he assumed it was the same with him but this...

Lei Xinyi was about to turn to him to glare and belittle him for swearing when Su Qing finally sprung out of her trance.

Su Qing turned Lei Xinyi to her by her arm and dragged her by the arm to the railing and whisper shouted, "What the f*ck, Ren?! You know who he is and what he is capable of! Despite that, you go messing around with him? Have you lost your mind!"

Lei Xinyi kept her eyes on the floor and frowned, glaring at the floor.

She sighed irritably and huffed, "Ren, he isn't Yu Youhan who went by the rules and over the table dealings. Yu Jian once told me that he is… twisted in the head and you know how he slaughtered his paternal extended family for the position he is in! He is capable of hurting you; you don't play with a Li! You think you will want to walk out and he will let you?! You seriously sold your soul to the devil!"

Lei Xinyi turned to her to glare at her, and snapped, "I know what I did. Stop rubbing it on my face!" She sighed and huffed in indignation, "If you have nothing good to say, just leave! I already have my pile to make out."

The whole situation was weighing on her now. Lei Xinyi frowned and glared at the ground. All she wanted was a little liberty and peace of mind, was it too much of a sin?

All she wanted was a break from her lecherous extended adopted family, a break from her impending death, her bounty hunter relatives who were out for her head! And how did she ended up in this new pile of a mess was a wonder to her too...

Her mouth turned to a frown and her glare intensified. She was trying to run from her adopted father and cheapskate, power-hungry grandfather and she managed to get the Yu, Lu, and Li family after her. She messed up big time!

She wanted to curse the day she was tempted to steal that damned heirloom. It sure was jinxed, turned her life upside—down! 

She had heard people say that the sapphires on it were a blessed stone but by her personal experience, she knew it was a freaking nuisance! No wonder Madam Yu had such stuck up offspring after wearing that!

And her misery amplified ten-fold the moment she took hold off that jinxed heirloom which was GOD knows where! Her only pillar right now was Li Yuan otherwise once the Yu Family knew she lost their heirloom her life was doomed and now she was trapped! She had no other option but to play by Li Yuan rules knowing he wasn't offering it all on a silver platter for a penny of her thought.

Su Qing saw the despair on her face and sighed in resignation and softly cooed her, "You think I am rubbing anything in your face? I am just talking sense into you because I care about you! You have already lots of self-made problems and now you have found the latest addition that can weigh more alone than all your problems combined!"

At her Su Qing words, Lei Xinyi scowled and glared at her, "Okay! Fine, I get it! But I didn't plan it, it just happened! Those Lu's kidnapped me and shove me on him like a cattle and then he came to rescue me from the God-forsaken place and we both know if it wasn't for his arrival they wouldn't have let me go by myself."

Su Qing bowed her arms on her chest and snorted at her white lie, "That's may sound lame to your own ears too! You would have escaped in any day without breaking a sweat. All I am saying is that you shouldn't have gotten involved with him and most importantly why was he looking for you, to begin with?"

Lei Xinyi's eyes shot up to He Zheng who avoided eye-contact. With her recent weak mindset, Su Qing was fragile hearted and naturally, he didn't think it wise to tell her about where Lei Xinyi was all these months when they weren't even sure she was out there somewhere. Before today everything concerning her was a hypothesis.

But admitting it loud to Lei Xinyi will be like a thunderstorm all over. He had to tell himself, Lei Xinyi, no matter how strong of a woman was still a human and just was rescued from a kidnapping. He didn't just want to open the can of worms just yet. She needed to be calm, not frantic for all that was ahead of them.

Lei Xinyi eyed him with a blank stare for a while as a thought ran in her head.

She turned to Su Qing then, "When I escaped, the Lu Family took me forcefully to their Mansion thinking I was some 'Lu Xinyi' because she had some resemblance to me."

She didn't notice the shock on her sibling's face and continued still glaring at the ground for not having swallowed her, "Apparently she escaped her house at the same time. Yu Wang was hot on my tail so I found a secure hiding-spot in it and played along."

She pursed her lips somberly and grimly admitted, "He was her fiancé so I played that part too…"

Su Qing gasped and shared an incredulous look with He Zheng.

"What the actual f*ckery! The real 'Lu Xinyi' had actually replaced you here with a flash-wiped memory and damn she was even fooling around with Yu Youhan on your name!

"What! Seriously..." She groaned slapping her hand on her forehead, "She may as well have made out with a vacuum cleaner in my name! She truly had ruined my reputation!"

She huffed in irritation and processed it, How come nobody noticed it wasn't her, "Does she really look that much like me?"

"That much of a carbon copy that till we didn't know you had an accident, we thought you had amnesia."
