244 The Lady And Lord Of Underworld

Lei Xinyi's eyes landed on He Zheng and a question flashed in her eyes, "How did you know where to look?"

He Zheng pursed his lips and lifted his eyes to fall on Li Yuan who was smirking at them. 

It wasn't good! When the manipulative, vindictive man had asked him to give him the key saying something like 'in case of emergency', he had been blinded in wariness and handed it over to him.

Now Lei Xinyi's eyes were flashing with a warning and rage under the beds of her barely-there composure. It was retaliation, Li Yuan was punishing him for trying to firewalls.

He glared hard at the man taking amusement in his despair. Lei Xinyi wasn't letting this go, it was obvious. She never let anything slide. 

He fisted his hands tightly and gritted his teeth, keeping his glare fixed on Li Yuan, "The signal of your piercing went off in the morning and I had 'given' the key to Young Master Li so…we came here to save you."

Lei Xinyi rolled her eyes, Now this was pretty hilarious, they came to 'save' her with what? Water balloons?

Although it was quite easy to connect the dots. There were only two keys, one Lei Xinyi had and another was with He Zheng that he had given it to Li Yuan so if the key went off it wasn't hard to guess where Lei Xinyi was.

But that was beside the point. Noticing He Zheng's glare both the ladies' eyes turned to Li Yuan.

Su Qing looked at Li Yuan menacing stance as he stood with his back to the wall he was relaxed but his aura was consuming all the calmness and then turned to Lei Xinyi in question with widened eyes with shock and horror.

When He Zheng had told him they were going to get Lei Xinyi, he said nothing about her being in the devil's den!

Su Qing head jerked to Lei Xinyi at once looking at her state to see if she had been harmed but… Lei Xinyi looked dressed rather like the lady of the manor, it was like this was all some strange alternative world! Was the Underworld King really standing in front of her?!

She gasped in horror and surprise.

Su Qing hadn't seen a lot of the man but knew he wasn't supposed to be messed with; he was a well-known tyrant! Rumors about how he gained his position as the next patriarch sent shivers down people spines. Not to mention how he had singlehandedly taken Asia by a storm when he ascended his throne! The man was scary and dangerous…and engaged!

Lei Xinyi's eyes followed her head movement; she pursed her lips then faked a smile.

She stood up and gave a hand to Su Qing and He Zheng to stand up. Li Yuan was still standing there with a slow smirk, playing his phone in his fingers.

The dreaded introduction that she had to go through… Lei Xinyi's eyes shut before she cursed under her breath and turned to them with her best fake smile.

"Oh! Where are my manners?" Although it was quite late to say the M-word but still, "Li Yuan, this is Su Qing and He Zheng, my adopted siblings. She is an actress and he is…a software engineer."

He Zheng looked at her in puzzlement, 'What software engineer, he clearly did dirty dark web work!' Lei Xinyi arched her brow without faltering her smile at him, "You are, right?" 

He Zheng blinked for a while before furiously nodding.

She then walked to Li Yuan and smiled at him with her best fake smile, "And this is Li Yuan, my… 'new' friend."

Li Yuan raised his brow at her introduction as his aura darkened further and everybody else in the area felt it. Lei Xinyi felt sweat trickling her back but she kept her stance.

Li Yuan pulled her by her elbow and his other hand landed on her waist, he smirked unmasked with a raised brow in amusement, his whisper adorned with menace giving her a chance to reconsider her words, "Friends?"

Lei Xinyi palm felt sweaty but she was stubborn and nodded hesitantly looking at his obsidian eyes, "Y…Yes. Friends, that's what I said and employer too."

She pursed her lips and reddened in fury and her glare was set in place, warning him to mortify her in front of her siblings, 'What else did he expect from her? To tell them that she had been messing around with an engaged man who also happens to be the underworld lord?! Un-f*cking-believable!'

He chuckled lowly in a way that sent a shiver down her spine and then shook his head, "You are not good at naming things, are you?" he whispered in her ear with a promise that the conversation wasn't over.

She tried to snatch back her arm but his hold was tight, he brought his hand to her left cheek and caressed it with the gentleness of a lover, smirking, "Spend time with your 'family' I have work to do. I will see you at night, sweetheart. We have things to discuss."

Lei Xinyi pursed her lips as she knew the discussion was about their 'relationship' status and the outburst she had earlier. She wasn't blind the accounts of her conning him and her running away were about to be aired too. She was lost in desperation at the thought of confrontation.

He bent his head and gave a peck on her lips, it was so fast that she couldn't avoid it, her face reddened in anger and embarrassment. She glared at him and tried to push him away when he let her go.

She was so mortified at being kissed in front of her 'family' that she turned her head away in embarrassment. 

Li Yuan smirked at her tinted cheeks in indifference, 'it was indeed necessary for him to renounce his claim now more than ever.' He turned and left along with his goons that followed.

Su Qing and He Zheng watched the play unfold with their jaws dropped. They couldn't believe the irony of the scene that played in front of them. 

Should they be surprised that the Underworld King just kissed and flirted with Lei Xinyi or that Lei Xinyi was embarrassed by it?
