234 A b*tch That Bites

Li Yuan laid her on the bed with care and tenderness as if she was made of glass. He stared at the woman who had been the sole source of his relief and distress since he laid his eyes on her on an eventful evening.

He frowned in deep thought, it was like everything before her was crumbled to dust behind her. It was like he didn't know a living before her.

She wasn't an innocent girl he was taking to bed after nuptial vows, she was a woman. Mature, cunning, clever beyond her years, her eyes shimmered with experience of life in her veins and her features, they told you tales.

She was venomous and he knew she was the cure too. There were many who desired her and her posture and stature told you she was aware of her allure but she was his. And she will be his willingly.

The ache in his heart and seeping fear weighed tons, a fear he had for her. The little temptress may become the death of him. His mind was chaotically erratic but he knew he had to do it now, either she liked it or not. 

He exhaled, took off his coat threw it on the bed right beside her.

Lei Xinyi stared up at him then the discarded coat with a frown, trying to figure him, she felt the air charge with tension the moment they entered the room. It was like his whole persona switched.

There was something the air was buzzing by awareness of, something she had an unconscious knowledge of. It was like laying a hairbreadth away yet she couldn't point a finger at it.

It was scary because she could tell he was deciphering his thoughts for a pending action that was reeling in his mind and something he was pondering over could be anything but good news.

Lei Xinyi gave him an awkward smile, assessing his features for a clue, "Li Yuan..."

Li Yuan cut her off in a hard tone, "Do us both a favor, Lei Xinyi." Lei Xinyi breath hitched and her eyes widened at his cold tone, "Stay still."

Lei Xinyi breath hitched and her eyes widened.

In a swift movement, Li Yuan grabbed her both hands and pinned them above her head, and just as Lei Xinyi was about to struggle Li Yuan climbed on her, restricting any possible movement.

Her breath hitched and the atmosphere turned sharply tense. Her heartbeat rose and her eyes turned sharp.

A seed of discomfort and fear crept in her soil, there was only one possible reason her head could come up with. Was he trying to force...

Lei Xinyi shouted in frustration and annoyance as patience became a secondary concern, "What the f*ck is wrong with you?!"

He ignored her cries but tightened his legs around her and firmly held her wrists. Lei Xinyi wriggled but she was no competition to a man of his caliber.

He trailed his hand on her body crouched her shirt up revealing a scarlet gleaming Ruby in her belly button surrounded by her porcelain clear pale skin. It blinked as if winking at him to mock him.

Li Yuan shut his eyes and took a deep breath, somewhere he wistfully wished that it wasn't true like many other strayed rumors about her out there.

He felt a rage brewing storm in his insides but he knew he had to stay calm. 

But the thought was a fuming punch in his guts. 'Was she that desperate to die?! Or did she f*cking had self-harming tendencies?!'

Lei Xinyi froze at once but then her eyes hardened and her jaw clenched as her brain recorded his actions, she tried to free her hand to tug her shirt back down but Li Yuan shot her a scathing glare.

He was glaring at her stomach like she was carrying a spawn of the devil, it was no surprise though Lei Xinyi didn't like it one bit. He was glaring at her piercing. He must have heard rumors about the piercing as it was no secret in the underworld.

All in all, he had no right to invade her privacy like that! She had every right to blow herself for all she cared!

"Get off!" Lei Xinyi hissed and seized her struggles yet her body stayed tense.

Li Yuan met her glare head-on and growled, "If you want to f*cking die this much, I will f*cking strangle you!"

There was no reality or practicality to his words all there was, was pent up rage and churning anguish.

She let out a sarcastic laugh and rolled her eyes, "How Ironic! Sure, you will be delighted. After all, isn't that what you do best or better said do all day, get your hands on blood and flesh?!"

Li Yuan narrowed his eyes at her sass, 'Really? Were they seriously going to do that, also like this? This was filthy hypocrisy!'

Not backing out of the argument Li Yuan snorted, "It sounds awfully comical, coming out of your mouth!"

Lei Xinyi hissed and tugged but to no avail, his grip was strong.

Angered by her embarrassing struggles Lei Xinyi shouted in agitation, "That's none of your business just as this piercing isn't!"

Li Yuan smirked and shook his head brought his hand on her cheek and caressed it tenderly, she tried to jerk her head away but he gripped it tightly, "That's where you are mistaken, sweetheart." He patted her left cheek, "Until you are with me, I forbid you from doing anything moronic." 

Lei Xinyi stared at him emptily for a while before she returned his smirk with one of her own, and haughtily laid back, "Oh? Let's see how you keep up with your words since this piercing had a key to unlock it or else it will..."

Li Yuan looked at her smugness and shook his head in amusement, he slid his hand in his pocket and took out a small cylinder-like tube.

Lei Xinyi face drained of colors and even before she could protest or struggle Li Yuan slid it over the Ruby on her belly button. He turned it sideways to the left and the piercing clicked, with an easy fluid movement he took it in his hand then put it in his pocket.

Lei Xinyi recovered as searing hot the betrayal set in. The Key, except her only He Zheng had it. Now it was clear, how he knew so much about the Lei family, that too with certainty!

She looked at him with contempt and accusation, "You manipulated him!"

Li Yuan brows shot up at her allegation, 'Well...this was something! She refused to admit the crow black just because it rested in her courtyard!'

Li Yuan shook his head and smirked, he couldn't help the mock and amusement. "Be pragmatic sweetheart, and at least call it what it is."

Lei Xinyi gritted her teeth at the open jab. She felt like resolute hate grill her limbs. 'That little punk dared sell her out!' for all of it Lei Xinyi eyed the man with contempt and despise.

It was him, like a King he sealed her fate, took over the reins of her little domain, everything that bent on her command was whirling at his whims.

It felt like he had even seized her voluntary action just as her involuntary action. In that moment, she could see how he was a man bigger than her, in that moment she could see the empire he reined, the power he wields that was almost blurred behind his carefree and caring deceitful façade.

She snarled with all the recoiling hate, "I see..I see now the hollow promises of a f*cking bastard! All you want to do is make a good puppy out of me for your b*tchy family! You f*cking had…"

Li Yuan caught the contagious rage like it was a wildfire in the hay barn. He tightened his hold on her arms and pressed her harder in the mattress, he hissed, "Shut the f*ck up Lei Xinyi! All you do is argue in your fogged ego and think it is your most wise decision to tie a sh*tty bomb to your body and when someone tries talking sense into your f*cked up suicidal head you rise up like an unreasonably petty…"

As she thought she couldn't lose it anymore the insult was gutting her ego, she tugged her arms hard and sneered, "Verbal jab! Expected from a bastard like you! Let me loose and I will show you 'unreasonably petty'!"

Li Yuan snorted at the stupid woman who couldn't free herself and bluffed like there was no tomorrow. She had challenged his manly ego and he really wanted to see what she was so pride of and show her who held the upper hand here. He let her hands go and loosened his legs on her waist.

Like a brainless woman she was, he was expecting a slap, a punch, or even her spitting in his face but he didn't expect in his wildest of dreams what came next…

Lei Xinyi wrists were free but her ragging head knew no bounds. She swiftly took hold of the lamp on the bedside table and swung it across Li Yuan's face.

'CRASH'

The lamp collided with his face and shattered, it threw Li Yuan off the balance, Lei Xinyi took the opportunity and threw him out of the bed.
