228 Proper farewell

Her master was a mad man but a relatively Medical Prodigy and extremely rich; he used to buy livestock from the Lei Head to experiment, to play and for his amusement. She was one of them too but he had taken her as an apprentice instead and taught her his skills along with all the academic subjects.

She thought of what to say to boast her eligibility before her shoulder slumped and she straight forwardly blurted, "I don't have a degree."

Li Yuan was momentarily shocked, her fame in the underworld was peerless and she said, she didn't have a Medical degree.

"You don't?"

Lei Xinyi nodded solemnly as if the fact really disheartened her when she really didn't give a f*ck, "Yeah, but I have fake degrees and undeniable source of experience of 15 years."

Weren't all those Earth dwellers that were in their brink of death years prior and she pulled them from the doors to hell, a walking experience certificate enough?! It should suffice…

Li Yuan frowned for a total different reason, and asked in disbelief, "What's your age again?"

Her bio said that she was twenty-three years so for a 15 years experience she should be 8 when she started surgeries…

It was absurd, girls in that age played with dolls and drew ugly painting and she was playing with human organs then and drawing human anatomy…

Lei Xinyi snorted and puffed her chest in pride, "When I first transplanted a man's heart I was only 9 years old." She sighed then slumped her shoulder and murmured remembering the gruesome scene still fresh in her memory, "He died of course."

Her eyes lit as the Christmas tree and she looked at him with a bright smile as a though struck her, "But three months later I did a successful transplant!"

"Why did…?" have to do it so young. He wanted to ask her but he didn't have a voice left in him to.

Lei Xinyi ignored his question that she didn't want to answer and continued, "Injured clan's man, prisoner, disposed spies…and my friends…Master Yin made me practice on them to improve my skills." 

A shadow passed over her before she smiled forcefully, "So you see, he would, sometimes take out the organs and I would put them back in all the while making sure the man breathes and he recovers well, sometimes he would infect them by putting parasites, bacteria, etc. in the body of the well preserved ones and I would heal him with Chinese medicines techniques, and many other things, sometimes new poisons and medicines… so we practiced on livestock thus I am so experienced."

"What did he do with the men's then?"

A far away looked bothered her mind, it was disturbing indeed but it didn't bother her anymore, "What you do to Guinea pig?" She shrugged with a bitter smile, "Dispose of them."

Li Yuan kept staring at her but didn't know what to say. The volcanic eruption in his heart bled it with a blinding fever. How deranged were this Lei's to do this to his 8 year-old innocent little birdie.

Her speaking about her traumas as if those things were normal routine pierced his heart. He couldn't help himself and pulled her in his embrace and hugged the day light out of her, her head was buried in his chest and He felt like if he was to be a little lousy with his hold, her demons will suck her in, away from him.

"Shh…It's Okay, Sweetheart. Don't talk about it, we will get through this" He patted her head tenderly.

Lei Xinyi looked at him lost and shook her head, she could smell hard expensive liquor from him, and obviously he was drunk so he must be blabbering nonsense.

She shrugged and instead opted to ask directly, "So am I hired?"

Li Yuan gazed at her with a guilty smile. It was all his fault, she had suffered from their hands already and he had allowed her to fall in their clutches again, "Of course, Sweetheart." He whispered and kissed her head tenderly.

'Drunk! He is drunk, don't think anything of it!' Lei Xinyi reminded herself that he totally out of it and gave her hot, drunk employer a kiss on the cheek in return.

Li Yuan was stunned silent and glazed by the affectionate kiss, he wasn't expecting to be reciprocated. Lei Xinyi took that glazed moment as an opportunity and slid away from him and sat on the sofa.

"Great!" Lei Xinyi rolled her eyes and let out an exasperated sigh of relief, "Finally, I am employed again."

Unknown to the treachery of the cunning fox, Lei Xinyi rejoiced her fortune. Li Yuan smirked inwardly at the temptress Siren that was caught in his anchor without even realizing it.

Since now she was his exclusive Doctor, she was bound to stay close to him even when all the situations were going to be calm again. He would have to make sure that the people on her tail were put out to rest…by hook or by crook.

"How much salary would I get?" Lei Xinyi excited voice cut his train of planning.

Li Yuan nodded his head in thought as a cunning idea rose in his head, there was no better way to give his wife-to-be allowance. But he had to make sure that it wasn't too much to make her suspicious and too less to make her humble.

"Because the job requires your sole focus, undivided attention and confidentiality, I will pay you 10 Million a month. From your wardrobe to your meals, security, medical expenses, everything will be provided."

Lei Xinyi eyes widened and her jaw dropped, "Te…Ten Million with this many facilities?! Are you crazy?!"

Realizing the impact of her words, she rephrased it sheepishly, "What I mean is, in Ten Million you can have a Team of all the specialist! Why would you spent all this money solely on me?!"

Li Yuan paused at her fast processing brain but recovered fast. He couldn't let her slip from the net when he had her where he wanted her, "Because you are the best and will be signing a Ten Years contract of employment."

"Ten Years…" Lei Xinyi trailed off. It was a very long period of time and with the Lei's game on her head, she might not even live past her twenty-fifth birthday.

Not to mention, if she got bored and wanted to do something else, move somewhere else…

Li Yuan saw her mind processing the wheels in reverse and at once dropped his Trump card, "I will also get you out of the clutches all the scavengers that are on your tail, the Yu's, Lu's and any other threat that arises during the employment period."

Lei Xinyi looked up at him in surprise and shouted, "Okay, done!"

It was like the heavens had made him a custom-made package for her, if she was able to get the hounds off her tail. She will practically be a free bird!

Lei Xinyi looked at him with her eyes twinkling in malevolence, grinning in malice, 'The poor lad! This was a daylight burglary but such a shame that she was conning the same man twice!'

She will hardly have to spend three or four days in a month on duty and would be paid obnoxiously! In her head, she was laughing evilly and dancing in African tribal fashion.

She could be free and loaded!

Li Yuan couldn't help the smirk that rose on his lips, his little cute Raven was trying to be cunning and thinking that she was playing when she was resting in his nest for his very talons to clutch her. And once she was in his nest, there was no refuge for her.

Both were smiling in a cunning manner at each other at their own malicious devised plans. They were both poisons trying to overturn the other.

Li Yuan stood up and extended his hand to her, "Good!" he held her hand that was resting on the sofa and urged her to stand, "Let's get out of here!"

Lei Xinyi snatched her hand out of his and frowned. She wasn't planning to leave anytime soon she had business left here after all!

She pursed her lips and waved her hand in the air nonchalantly, "You go. I will follow you later with all my contact details and then we will discuss the contract details too. I know your office address, I will visit you on Monday during Lunch."

Li Yuan hid his anger and irritation behind a passive face, if he was too pushy she might as well bolt out, "And how do you think you will come out of here alive after I leave, not to mention survive till reaching my office?"

It was the fact, once he left The Leis' were going to relocate her or might as well attach a bomb to her body. But they wouldn't let her out of their hold.

Not to mention, if she was spotted on the streets, her enemies get waft of her and come to resolve old vendettas…

But she had to stay for a little while longer!

Lei Xinyi glared at the carpeted floor in annoyance, "But I have Business here!"

Li Yuan deadpanned, this place was nothing but cause of her agony, there was no way he was leaving her here for those Monsters to feast on her spirit anymore! "What business?"

A malicious glint passed through her eye, "Well…I had some very hospitable guests here so, of course, I am not going without biding them a proper farewell!"
