Lei Xinyi narrowed her eyes at him as if assessing his very soul, she ran a hand through her silky hairs in thought then turned to him with a sweet smile, "What do you think I am? Half-baked?"

Her smile slipped only to be replaced by a snarl, "Cordially, my ass!"

She bowed her arms on her chest and glared at him accusingly for trying to reel her in her own tricks, "All you are going to do is, take me to some secluded place and hang me up-side down to be thrown in a well! I am not an idiot nor delusional to imagine a five star hotel waiting for me after…doing what I did!"

"Smart, aren't you?" His smirk deepened with darker hue to it, "So Smarty pants, answer me. Do you think I need your permission to take you anywhere?"

More than a rhetorical question, it was a taunt. For a moment Lei Xinyi face bleached to be devoid of color before a darkening color took over her facial.

She leaned forward as if going to tell him a secret and her voice dropped some chords in a cryptic way, "Do you know who I am?" She garnished her words with a smirk equally malice in fervor.

Li Yuan smirk didn't falter instead he leaned forwards and took a hold of her silky strand of Chocolate Black hair between his fingers. He smiled at them, just as velvety soft as he remembered them to be.

He contemplated whether he should share his discoveries or not. Lei Xinyi looked between him and his finger caressing her hair in cynicism.

'Why did he look so relaxed…? Why wasn't he wary of her identity?' Lei Xinyi confidence wavered as the humming silence between them charged with suggestiveness.

She wanted to scurry away but didn't want to appear puny or subservient. So she stood her guard with alertness. In that moment of silence Lei Xinyi registered the scorching threat the man was.

Li Yuan finally met her gazed and his smirk deepened meaningfully, he draped his arm around her waist, and she stiffened but didn't otherwise flinch.

She was trying to present that his presence didn't bother her and she wasn't petrified of him. But her uneven short pants of breath and frantically poignant eyes gave her away.

Li Yuan leaned downward till he was close to her ear and whispered in a sensual voice that should be used only in luring lovers in, "Born in China, brought up in North-Korea…" he took a pause to observe her unique orbs presenting her surprise, "Siren or better said…Lei Xinyi."

Lei Xinyi froze, she couldn't believe he knew her real name and about her origin. Not everybody could link her to her Underworld name Siren…

But then her astonishment turned biter, the man she was dangling in the arms of was the King of Underworld, sure he could get any information he liked…and then when she would have disappeared the Yu's would have claimed to know her!

That photo! That mirror selfie was the only mistake otherwise she would still be a shadow, they would have recognized her from there! She winced at her mistake.

She pushed away from him harshly and shouted, "So you did a background check on me?!"

Her shock and disbelief was at once channeled, she sneered out of sizzling rage burning in her. She was shivering by the anger buzzing in her, "How sweet of you!"

Her sarcasm wasn't unnoticed by him. It hurt him to see her this livid with betrayal written on her face, when he should be the offended party here.

It was understood that he had breached her privacy but he did it in the time, she was literally wiped off Earth, he hadn't slept a single night without crooning his woes to her even when he knew she wasn't listening or responding.

He was even drunk at the moment but her presence was assisting him fighting the refuge to cataleptic abyss of his dreams.

Li Yuan at once pulled her back in, causing her to fall on his hard chest face-first, she struggled but he caressed her head softly with his one arm wrapped on her waist and whispered, "My Little Raven, be grateful."

Lei Xinyi snorted and looked up at him with her narrowed hooded cat-like eyes, Li Yuan hand caressing her hair reached to her cheek and caressed it, "I have come to help you out of this rat-hole and the 'curfew' you are in."

Lei Xinyi couldn't hold back the sneer of pure mock, "Let me guess, you want me reveal to you the deepest, darkest secret of the Lei Family so let me be a disappointment," She cackled in sarcasm, "I left the Lei family years ago and even their ancestors graves would have relocated by now!"

Li Yuan threw his head back and laughed, "No, Sweetheart. I have no interest in people who are soon to be perished. Instead I want to help you."

Lei Xinyi stilled and frowned her brows in an intensive thought, 'Now what was this bullsh*t?! He, the man she unintentionally made a fool out of wanted to help her? Un-f*cking-believable!'

She was about to shout nonsense when a thought struck her, 'He was one hell of a catch. If she was able to make a bargain with him, the Yu's, Lu's and those lousy Underworld men would be something like rubber bullets. But she was treading on thin ice…she needed to assess the situation better.'

Li Yuan saw her contemplating a battle in her pretty little head but didn't disturb her thought process, instead he admired her glazed eye and pouting lips, that looked served to be savored but he held himself back.

'This time he planned to have her body, mind and soul and for such he needed to be patient, patient like a saint. This time she will come to him.' He smiled at the oblivious little canary in his lap and kept on caressing her cheeks and her silky mane of dark velvet.

She pushed away from him to generate a little comfortable distance between them when all her thought were sorted.

She eyed him suspiciously, and incredulously voiced, "For a man of your caliber, you are quite vain… wandering and saving kidnapped girls!" Her alarmed squinted eyes assessed him, "What is in it for you?"

Li Yuan was too many things but vain wasn't one of them, just as similarly, the Lei's were many things but incompetent wasn't one of them.

So it was quite obvious here that the Lei's must have set a fool-proof plan to make sure it looked like she never even existed and she knew well that it wasn't possible to breech in it, in your free time. It must have taken every tooth and nail along with every trick in his book to have been able to reach here.

And it wasn't to avenge his slaughtered ego because if it was then he didn't need to come up here to have a chit chat with her, he could simply explode the building or have his lackeys end her but he didn't.

Which meant…he wanted something here from her too!

After levitating her body language for a while he sighed and rubbed his head, and her thoughts were affirmed by his stern voice, "Sweetheart, I have a job for you."

He wanted to steal her away leaving the whole world trivial behind them but she was no innocent damsel in distress, the moment she heard that he wanted her for his life, she was running for the hills.

It would be hard to reach or track her heart if she put her guard up on her feelings so he would rather have her be oblivious till they are standing in front of the MC and saying their vows.

So there was no better way to mask his intentions than by making it seem like a mutual cooperation.

He smiled at the thought, 'She wouldn't know what hit her till she will be in too deep to back out.'

Lei Xinyi slid a little away on the sofa and her facial expression turned more guarded and dark than seconds ago, "Job…?" Her tone was more accusatory than questioning.

He ran a multi-billionaire company and she had been no asset to his company for all the months she worked, she hardly knew anything about any office sh*t and if she wasn't privileged, she wouldn't have been in the company past her first week. So he sure as hell didn't want her there.

Her featured hardened and fury seeped through all her pores. 'Did he…Did he just ask her to be his Mistress?!' She was beyond comprehensibly livid but she waited for his reply before punishing him for his lecherous words.

Li Yuan saw her pendulum emotions wriggling on her face but didn't know what he said to enrage the fire breathing dragon.

He furrowed his brows, "Yeah…you see, in my line of business, anything can turn downhill at any moment." Lei Xinyi anger eased at once and was replaced by confusion.

He was certain that it was something that he said that sent her on the point to combust. So he continued to ease the tension in the air, "And you are known for your other worldly Medical skills so I want to hire you as my exclusive private Doctor."

Realization dawned on Lei Xinyi as if a meteoroid had hit the surface of her head, she slapped her fore-head for over-thinking, and care-freely exclaimed, "Oh!"

Lei Xinyi couldn't help cackling at her previous thoughts, 'How silly! The man was loaded but still he wouldn't to go these lengths to get a lover, of course! But for his health insurance….it was more like it…"

In that moment Lei Xinyi forget that the first drop of blood that was spilled was because of a woman and so was the great war of Troy waged all because of a beautiful woman.

She sat upright and looked at him in a better light. She curiously questioned, "So…I s that an interview?"

Then her eyes trailed to their surrounding, the place was disastrous to be an office and if the mess on the floor was anything to go by, she wasn't anyway giving her new Boss a good impression.

Li Yuan pursed his lips but his expression didn't give away his thoughts. After a moment of observing her he passively replied, "Think of it as one."

Lei Xinyi nodded awkwardly but didn't know what to say, It would have to be her first job as well her first job interview.
