223 Retrieving Lei Xinyi

Li Yuan kept the phone on the table and ringed his Butler. The Butler appeared seconds later. He eyed the numerous empty bottles and knew his Master head was in a turmoil.

"Yes, Young Master."

"Send Ji Zhou and ask him to bring all the files about Xinyi's search." Li Yaun commanded and started going through his phone. 

Butler Yang sent the message and without looking his Butler could tell his Young Master was staring at the only picture he had with the woman.

His Young Master was gazing at it with tenderness and longing.

It was routine his Young Master would get drunk and gaze at their picture for hours and if he had taken too strong of liquor he would even blabber promises to her. 

If anybody tried to take the phone away or take him to bed would face his wrath. Before sleep set him free from her trance it would go on for hours.

Before he was plane angry on the woman but she was rather too deep-rooted in his heart. Internally his Mother, Grandmother and other servants had rejoiced that the woman was gone.

They took no notice of the search. It was like when he searches for her and not find her, he would move on but it wasn't the case. Every search party that came out empty-handed and every file that was closed was undoing him steps deeper.

She was like dagger buried in his heart, it would kill him if it was left buried and it would kill him it was extracted. She was raw poison to him!

His Young Master was usually wise and level-headed but it had been like this since his one foolishness, Lei Xinyi.

The girl was the cause of all this! Su Qainwei was the perfect wife for his Young Master. She was an upright woman with a decent background, a beautiful alluring face, had the eloquent upbringing and to add a cherry on top, she was knee-deep in love with his Young Master but his Young Master was blinded by that temptress!

The Butler stared at his Master with pursed lips. The woman Lei Xinyi was trouble and he was fairly not-so-impressed by her unruly, unladylike behaviour.

For a rarity, he agreed with Madam Li and Old Madam Li about her being not 'suitable' for his Young master. They were leagues apart and all that he had seen was that the girl was only capable of causing disruption in his Young Master's life.

His Young Master who was always level-headed and spent all his day in the welfare of Li Family was now burning midnight fuels for the search of the crass girl. There wasn't a force left that was not on her search and by ease his Master had burnt about Billions worth wealth and resources in her search.

And to top it all she was a Lei! The enmity between the Families for power was no myth, everyone knew of it!

He could see the girl was unnecessarily unhealthy for his Young Master but, his Young Master hadn't eaten properly or rested since the day she left and the exceeded level of alcohol was another story. His Young Master who was usually always in control and composure would usually throw and break things and shout in frustration.

The woman bad tantrums were contagious!

Butler Yang heaved a sigh in resignation. Every one of his employees had the same opinion about the girl but no one dared raise their question to him all they could do was pray that their Young Master will be set free from whatever hocus focus that witch had done on him.

The Li Household and his Young Master needed a Madam ASAP! She was too important! His Young Master had to be put to reigns and as it is a well-known fact, only a Queen can keep the best guard on a King! He needed to tell this to Madam Li!

The door was knocked and entered Ji Zhou and Fan Bingbing. They resided in the nearby area for the time being so it was easy to deduce, they were late than the time required to reach here but at once inspective gaze the Butler had his answer.

The usually prim and proper Ji Zhou had his hairs tousled, clothes crumbled and the lipstick mark on his collar was a story on its own. Fan Bingbing was blushing and looking flushed. Butler Yang at once averted his gaze and smiled.

If there was anything good about that deranged woman going missing was that these two lovers, who were both hiding their feeling from each other had finally started dating.

Li Yuan didn't lift his head at their arrival but demanded indifferently, "Was there a 'Yi Yang' in the list?" 

Fan Bingbing and Ji Zhou shared a look. Ji Zhou stepped forward and took out the said man's file. He kept in front of Li Yuan.

"The man was like the usual in the list with nothing that would make him stand out. Illegitimate birth in Gaza, mother and father dead, no siblings, his father was a Chinese tourist, mother of an unknown origin as most women of that region are."

Ji Zhou took a pause when he saw his Master hadn't lifted his head from his phone, "...He was a refugee, lived in an orphanage then started a Real estate company right out of college that just hit it off. Everything about him is in the file."

The thick file truly had A-Z everything about him, from every contract signed to every shopping bill, everything. The Li's forces were thorough not to miss even a needle in the grass.

Li Yuan raised his head to look at him, "His father was a tourist?" Ji Zhou affirmed by nodding, "And why would a tourist go in a place that was under civil war?"

Everyone in the room had their eyes widening, It was an instant fact they had missed and Li Yaun was no way hiding his rage at the slip.

One slip up meant the file he had posted about his background was faux which meant the man was shady and hiding things...In short a potential Lei!

He looked at Fan Bingbing and commanded, "Go through the file." He turned to the ashamed Ji Zhou and ordered through gritted teeth, "Bring everything that could relate her to him, show me the connection!"

Fan Bingbing at once sat on the seat and started going through the file in flipping-speed and started taking notes and Ji Zhou gave her hand a pat and ran out of the room to alert all the department of the new development and orders.

All the underground headquarters ran for 24/7 with appointed shifts of employees so it wasn't a big deal that the timing was off.

Li Yuan was in a rage but opted to let it pass, he was no ignorant to the budding spring in his garden and he wasn't one to break people's apart. Even if there was a no-fraternizing policy in his company.

They both were perfect for each other and Ji Zhou deserved this much for all the loyalty he had bestowed on him. Everything had a price but loyalty was priceless!

Their relation was new but they were spending most of it doing overtimes. Once Lei Xinyi was in his clutches, he made a mental note to send them on vacation.

It was middle of the night on a Saturday night. It was an odd time but his employees weren't complaining because of their loyalties and of course the double pay-time.

Fan Bingbing was done with her evaluation in about half an hour and shared her notes with Ji Zhou to sync the research on the phone. 

All the while Li Yuan rested his head on the shoulder of the couch to get relief of the headache that was throbbing him to conscious. He didn't want to take medicines, the pain was making it real. 

His heart was restless, he wanted her here in front of him.

She could be hurt, she could be anywhere. It was also a possibility that she was held hostage and was being tortured. He couldn't wait a moment later he wanted her in his sight!

All other world was trivial, only she mattered. He didn't know if he lived before her but after her, it wasn't something he could, for him it was getting harder to breathe. 

He hated and loved her for setting his past and present to flames in front of him. Opposed to what everyone thought, he wasn't being oblivious to the fact of her heritage but he couldn't help himself.

Like a wildfire, she had turned all of him to flames and caged his ashes. She was nirvana just as she was the abyss.

Fan Bingbing typed the new developments and printed them, in the meantime Ji Zhou returned and, briefed and cross-checked her report.

Ji Zhou placed the file on the table and cleared his throat to get his Boss's attention. Li Yuan moved his hand to continue, "Sir, everything about the man is normal but...his secretary." 

He licked his lip then continued, "Her Boss visits her place every weekend and stays there. They seem to have a work-place romance going on..."

Li Yuan lifted his head and looked at him with a frown and turned to Fan Bingbing in disbelief. What did she do to him?! 

Was this what he had come up with? How did he even think that the Yi man banging his secretary had anything to do with Lei Xinyi or his interest? Did all man lose it when they were into a woman?!

All he came up with was fraternizing case?!

Such a waste... he was once a useful man!

Assistant Ji at once deciphered his Master look and hurriedly shook his head in innocence, "But that's not it. There is something really shady about the woman. She studied nursing overseas but is working as a secretary in a real estate company, not only that there is a one million transfer in one of her bank account for every week from the last four month!"

He opened a page in the file and showed Li Yaun the transfer details that were done with random accounts from different parts of the world, but never the same place or account was used twice and all the accounts were international.

"And that is just the beginning of abnormal about her... She had ramps, supporting seats, installed in her apartment and then she remodelled her apartment four months ago when she is the only person that lives there with no handicapped person in the picture ."

Li Yuan leaned forward and looked at the details. Interesting...

Ji Zhou took a pause and pointed at all the transaction, "But the most interesting thing is, she bought medical tools in abundance in the same period of time from a lower-class society. And she was appointed at the same time Miss Lei took Ms Lu's place."

Li Yuan looked at him sceptically, "You are saying, she was preparing for Lei Xinyi's arrival a year prior?"

Lei Xinyi disappeared about almost a three months ago, So it could be a possibility but how were they supposed to know she was going to escape and was about to be almost dead in the process unless...they were the one who planned it.

Ji Zhou affirmed by nodding, "Yes, that's a possibility but Sir, I have a rather better alibi. There is nobody else seen leaving or entering her apartment but instead, there are take-outs ordered and even money is paid on the door when she is in the office! And then whenever the secretary eats outside, she takes take -outs with her."

Why would a woman need that much of food? And how could the food be delivered to phantoms?

Someone else lived there too...

Ji Zhou showed him the records then opened another page, "Sir, this is an exclusive underground herbs shop record. She had been buying these herbs that cost higher than her annual salary."

Li Yuan stared at him for something else that would follow and break all the bridges but when it didn't he felt his heart soar. He felt like a speck of hope would lead him even at the end of the world if that meant she was there.

Li Yuan stood up despite the sharp pain in his head, "Prepare the troops, we will retrieve her now."
