35 Second Clue
After Arbor finished the process of breaking through to the Kaholo realm a calming sensation spread throughout his body. This feeling originated from his dantain that continued to revolve at a slow pace. Where ever the feeling passed through, either it be his muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, or bones, they all became more relaxed and lose.
Arbor did a quick check over through his body to make sure everything was in order before he focused more on his dantain.
"Now that my dantain is alive and awake I should have fully unlocked all of the abilities that come with my soul spirit. Granted they won't be that strong or powerful, I can start to familiarize myself with them now. Now lets see what all I have an affinity with." Arbor mused as he inspected his dantain. "The green makes sense because of the vines, but there seems to be different shades of green. Those greens are probably because of the flowers that are on my trees. I can finally test out that about the herbs. The brown is most likely from the tree. I already have ideas on how to effectively use that. Wait…what the fuck is that black stuff? Is that death? That is almost the opposite of everything else…" Arbor fell into a deep contemplation for a half hour before he finally came up with a reliable explanation.
"The only reasonable thing is the essence in this place has been blended together with the aura of death that lingers in the air. Since the air is stagnant, I can only imagine that over so many years the essence became tainted with death. I guess it entered my body when I absorbed it and got into my dantain when I went through the process. I can only assume that this is not good my future cultivation and abilities. I hope it does grow with me. There must be a way to get rid of it. Maybe some grand master healer or a soul cultivator has some answers for me." Arbors inspection went worse than what he inspected. What Arbor did not know is that his assumption is completely correct. The ideas of getting rid the contaminated section out of his dantain is going to be more troublesome than he could imagine. Since it is out of his control and that he is not strong enough, he wrote off his current problems and stood up.
He took his staff in his right hand and started to twirl it around his body. Arbor executed The Nine Swings of Heaven towards the wall behind him. He executed the first two swings with ease and continued onto the third swing! The third swing started to rattle the cavern an d caused a few rocks to fall from the ceiling. The loud crashing from the rocks startled everyone in the building especially Arbor who stopped after the third swing.
"It seems my strength has doubled. I think I could go blow for blow against that monster now. Ahh…It feels good to have an increase in strength. As they say, I am just now stepping foot into the world of cultivation." Arbor smiled.
"Do you fucking mind? You make us wait for you for half a day and the first thing you did after you breakthrough is trying to bring this place down on all of us. What the hell are you trying to do?" Sald complained as she swiped her hands across a couple times causing wind to blow away the dust in the air. No more rocks fell from the ceiling as the rumbling subsided.
"Sorry about that, I'm still getting use to my new strength. I learned some information during my entrance to the Kaholo realm that you all should know." Arbor went on to explain his current situation with his dantain and the death essence in the air. The group concluded that the essence posed no harm to them in their meridians as it would not stay in there exceptionally long as they used it for their battle skills.
The group then got into a discussion about how those with elemental affinities could benefit greatly from absorbing essence that has been mixed fused with like elements when they established their foundation into the Kaholo realm. That is if it they were able to find such a location.
The topic of conversation again moved onto how they can move on from they current location. While they sat around discussing, Arbor played with his staff. He found out that he was now able to extend the length of it. He only discovered this after he accidently extended it way to long and lightly tapped Sozoth on the side of the head. Arbor quickly retracted the staff and pointed at Eos who was sitting right next to her and keenly watching her every move.
Sozoth turned her head only see Eos shaking his head. Sozoth put her arm down to let her snake slither onto the ground. Under the cover of the darkness a small black snake, no thicker than a pinky finger made its way over to Arbor with a wide arching path. This way it escaped Eos's detection. The snake slithered its way up his leg and bit Arbors butt cheek before it fell off and escaped into the darkness. Arbor yelped as he swatted behind him to knock off what ever bit him in the ass. Arbor first looked at Sozoth to find that she still has the same dark look on her face and everyone else was conversing together.
Arbor rubbed his ass a couple of times as he mouth a couple of words, "If you guys are ready to move along, we can go at any time."
Everyone stopped talking and gave Arbor a look of anger.
"I am actually disappointed in you all. Especially you Sald. Its actually easy the more you think about it, what number is recurring in this place?" Before anyone could answer Arbor continued, "Six. There are six beast statues, the cave is exactly six hundred and sixty-six feet long, the patterns along the wall repeat exactly six times and are in six by six sections. Igor if you could pleased take one step to either side." Arbor pointed toward Gror with his staff who was standing opposite of him. He raised his staff up and willed it to extend. "If we go by this rule, we can follow the same pattern. The sixth set from the north position…then we go to the sixth from the top and then six down. Or the bottom right, not the top because the beast is a demon, not something from the heavens." Arbor pressed in the block and a clicking noised echoed through the cavern.
"Next, we need to the second six. If you notice, the number of lanterns on the wall are divisible by six. If we go to the second sent and pull on the lantern." Arbor motioned for Dax who happened to be closest. Dax moved and found that the lantern easily moved from the top down. Another loud clicking noise followed by the sound of moving gears was heard this time.
"And finally, the last one. The most important." Arbor started to make his towards the altar with the beasts on it as he spoke, "The head of the beast is the most important part." Arbor stopped in front of the Lion, "The last trigger should be around here somewhere." Arbor inspected the statue for a couple of minutes until he felt one of the eyes nudge slightly. He then poked both eyes in six times. "That should be it." Arbor gloated and cleaned his hands off.
The jaws of the crowd dropped.
"We can finally get out of here." Grary cried in happiness.
"If you knew this entire time, why the hell did you make us wait for so long?" Ithaa exploded on Arbor.
Before Arbor could respond, the sound of gears turning and grinding against each other filled everyone's ears. Next the sound of stone slowly grinding against one another started as the circular platform in the middle of the altar started to move. It first sunk into the ground, become level with the rest of the altar. Then the rest of the altar started to split apart from the center in six different sections. Arbor had to jump off the altar a in order to avoid falling into the deep pit.
As the altar separated a the newly formed pit became a vacuum, creating a small suction force that pulled in the surrounding air.
Sald and Eos both looked at Arbor who had the look of a schemer on his face. "Its time for you two to go first."
Arbor did a quick check over through his body to make sure everything was in order before he focused more on his dantain.
