29 Reunited
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. Sald, Arbor, Eos…" A trembling voice with a hint of concern and sorrow hurriedly escaped from Leos mouth as he rushed towards his three downed comrades. Before he had even arrived, he took out three healing pills and clenched them into his palm to prevent himself from dropping them. Without any second thoughts, Leo stuffed one pill into each their mouths.
"You guys can't die. Orion will kill me first then Madam Founder will kill me in the afterlife and erase my soul for good." Leo struggled to keep his composure as he squatted next to Arbor, Sald, and Eos. His ignorance in the medical field fueled his deep concerns of what the outcome might be. This is the reason he only stuffed the healing pills into their mouths and let them be.
The rest of Leo's group arrived after they made sure that the monstrosity was not in any position to move against them or launch any attacks. Dax was able to notice this monster is at the peak of the three-star realm and knew that he was no match for it. When he arrived at Leo's side, he inspected the cultivation levels of the three on the ground and noticed that all of them are at the peak of kuwa realm. Dax looked back and forth between the injured group of three and the Frankenstein type creature with question and surprise. "How in the hell did those three not die against this…thing? If they are friends of Leo's, then they are obviously strong and talented in their own respective fields. What type of heavenly medicine is that? I can actually see their wounds healing at a visible rate!"
The triplets and Ithaa had their backs towards the others as they studied the struggling beast and kept watch for anything else that could appear.
A small amount of time passed by before Grary spoke, "Hey, you don't think that..thing, created the monsters that we fought earlier right?" All eyes fell onto Grary before he added, "It has the same type of structure. The only thing different between the two is that this one seems bigger and stronger. I have a feeling that thing is not the creator."
"I am pleading that you are wrong. I don't even want to imagine what thing or person could be the mastermind behind all of this," Grik sighed, "I am fed up with this place…..What the fuck was that for Ithaa?"
"Stop being such cowards. Every time I hear you complain, I will hit you on the head. That goes for you two also." Ithaa scolded Grik, Gror, and Grary.
"Add her to the list of people that we shouldn't aggravate." Gror whispered to himself.
"What did you just say?" Ithaa beamed as she raised her hand again. This time with a ball of fire on the palm side. As she started her swing to hit Gror the same ear-piercing shriek sounded in the cave causing her to stope her movement.
The struggling creature stopped its movements completely and collapsed to the ground. A low rumble soon followed and turned into the sound of a stampede of a thousand footsteps. Soon enough the source of the stampede showed itself as thousands of the jigsaw creatures filed into the room from a separate way that the one that Leo and company had entered from. Ithaa and the triplets backed up towards the others and readied themselves for another fight. They realized that the opposing party stopped exactly twenty feet away and lined up like soldiers in order. Between each thing was the same distance as all of them.
The abominations seemed to be waiting for something or someone to give them the order to attack. The uninjured group took a defensive stance as they could only prepare themselves for the worst.
"They wont attack. They have been doing this since we arrived. Its more of an intimidation factor to ware down our mental state. We don't know what lurks beyond this cave, but I conject that its beyond our capabilities." A hoarse voice explained the situation from behind the group.
Leo let out a big sigh of relief. "Thank the heavens that you are alive." Keeping his eyes on the things in front of him Leo questioned, "What about that thing in the middle? Whats the deal with that?"
"My staff is holding it down. As I am the only one allowed to wield it, it seems unimaginably heavy to anyone who tries to pick it up. Thus, that creature cannot withstand the weight. Its skin, shell, or whatever the hell you want to call it, is too difficult for us to get past a mere flesh wound. Hell, we could barely fight it to a standstill. Maybe that will change now." Arbor detailed.
As Arbor was explaining, Dax, Ithaa, and the triplets could only listen in shock. Three people at the peak of the kuwa realm could almost fight this thing to a standstill? And what about his staff only is only wieldable by him?
"How long do we have to wait for these things to leave?" Leo asked.
"Who else would it be but you? It shouldn't be more than a couple of minutes." A sweet but tender voice added to the conversation.
"Nice to see you too Sald. Are you three ready to fight yet? We can take this lot that just showed up before we move on to the larger one. These guys can take care of themselves." Leo urgently said.
"You guys were only able to make it this far because we three took care of all of the higher-level monsters on the way down here." Sald scoffed.
Eos agreed with a squawk.
"I trust Leo when he says that you all can handle yourselves, so I won't tell you what to do. Prepare yourselves." Arbor spoke with ease.
"I guess I'll have to try out those hidden weapons for the first time. Maybe I should have familiarized myself with them when I got them." Arbor spoke to himself.
As the group of nine started to gather and prepare to fight, the thousands of fiends started to call out in different noises. Caws, hisses, growls, roars, squeals, started, and yells to fill the enormous cavern. Battle cries from a plethora of animals and humans signified that these creatures were also ready for battle. The dome shape of the cavern caused the sound to echo and amplify over itself, creating an atmosphere that was close to impossible to focus in.
Off towards the entrance of the cavern a figure is standing in the shadows watching the face off between the two parties.
"I wonder if you lot will be able to handle yourselves. The question is, do I step in and show myself, or do I wait and see what happens." The figure pondered.
On the other side of the cavern a small figure dressed in all black appeared at a different passageway. Dumbfounded, this figure soon realized the scene of the thousands of fiends standing off against the small group of nine. When its eyes landed on the gigantic creature in the middle of the cavern its eyes widened and bulged out of its head a little. "They will need as much help as they can get."
