9 Enrollment 2
The trio is walking through the streets towards the grounds that the school uses for its examinations. It does not have to be said that thousand upon thousands of people are walking in the same direction. Highland school is recognized as one of the top schools. Arbor was caught in a day dream and almost walking into random people. Luckily, Eos did his due diligence and would nudge Arbor out of the way.
"Here, this is an interspatial ring. Everything from cultivation resources to battle skills to herbs and materials for forging and alchemy. You just might be the most affluent person enrolling this year. Bind the ring with your blood and you will be the only one to use it. This is the same for every ring. If you want to access one, the previous owner must not be alive." Telum began the conversation as he handed over the ring to Arbor.
"How are you so confident that I will make it in the school? Aren't there certain tests that I must past? Will I have to fight a puppet or anything or get my potential tested?" Arbor questioned.
"Haoshe has given us his word that both your potential and your soul spirit are top notch. Luckily for you these are the two things that are what they test on. With this being one of the most prestigious schools in this realm, they only take those with the highest potential."
Half an hour later the three arrived at the field and walked through the lingering crowd.
Maroon, short hair awkwardly hangs over a solemn pale face of a man in his early twenties. A sword left a mark stretching from the bottom of the right cheekbone, running towards the right side of his lips, and ending on his left nostril leaves a grievous memory of his former lover. This man is dressed in all an all-white robe and blue robe.
"How did I get stuck with this job. There are people beneath me who should have been…" red haired man mumbled to himself, "Hi welcome to this years examinations for the Highland school. Name, Age, and Cultivation level please."
"The name is Arbor, fourteen years of age, and I am in the first level of the kuwa realm."
"Surname?" The worker asked.
"Nope."
"Arbor Nope. Got it. Take this," the man handed a card with the number three on it to Arbor, "Find the designated area with the same number. Your instructor with be with you soon."
"No, wait, that's not," Arbor cried.
"Next!" The maroon haired man interrupted Arbor and called out.
Telum let out a quiet laugh from the side before getting Arbors attention, "Oh, Arbor, I got something for you."
Before Arbor could turned around and his wrist was already on Telums fingers. Two strands of essence entered Arbors body. One of them contained every battle art pertaining to staffs known by Telum. It took the shape of a staff and rested right next to the book from Thalli. The other stand, which entered unnoticed to Arbor, took the form of a very miniscule translucent sphere. This one, sealed and blurred his memories that are connected to Haoshe, Pona, Vulcan, Thalli, Sol, and Telum. Unknown to Arbor, this was the one of the last moments he would know see Telum, or think about any of his seniors for an extremely long time.
"Now go. Do great things" Telum finished.
Arbor nodded and turned around headed towards his designated area.
"Almost forgot to do that, things could have got a little hairy," Telum mumbled as he scratched the back of his head. "Take care of yourself kid."
Upon arriving in the designated testing area, Arbor took notice that he is around a half head taller than the other couple hundred examinees and looks slightly more mature. What Arbor does not realize is that the time it took him to enter the kuwa realm is longer than the average person.
On the opposite side of the field that Arbor is on, an older man in an all blue battle robe floated a couple of feet off the ground. "Welcome everyone to this years examinations. This year is the same as every other year. There is no cap to the amount of people we are accepting. Once again, we have only two requirements to enter. The first one is that your soul spirit at least reaches the seventh tier. The second test is that your potential must also be reach the seventh tier. None of you will have worry about your soul spirits being shown to others, the orbs will take care of all the grading. Everything will be kept confidential. If you could please separate yourselves into three different lines, we will proceed with hast."
The ranking system for potential and soul systems follow the same principal. Each person's body has the potential to reach certain cultivation realms. Those with a higher potential will easily be able to reach a higher realm. The ranking system signifies where a person will see their progress start to slow down and most likely stop. This can be changed by having a heavenly encounter with a treasure of some sort. Those blessed with a grade ten potential can make it to the deity realm with the minimal number of bottlenecks. Although they will still happen it will not completely stop them from advancing. This ranking only shows up once in a million years. Unfortunately, someone who falls into the first rank, is considered someone who is crippled. A couple cases of people who have trained their physical bodies to fight peak existences have been recorded in history. Since they could never enter the kuwa realm they never had the ability to use essence. Sadly enough, the secrets of those people have never surfaced.
Just like potential, a cultivator's soul spirit has ten ranks. While every person has a soul spirit, each one is different from the next. A grade one soul spirit is simply a basic form of an item that does not have any mutation. As the grades increase so does the power and abilities that come with it. Abilities aren't limit to a specific set of skills or abilities that a user has. The abilities is what the user gains by having that soul spirit. The higher ones grade is, the easier time they will have a comprehending laws pertaining to their soul spirit. A grade ten soul spirit for example can be a sword that is deeply embedded with the elements of ice and water. A similar soul spirit that is embedded with the same elements but on a much smaller scale will have weaker attacks and have slower comprehension toward those elements if wielded by someone who is in the same realm and has the same body potential. For those who have two soul items their
Those who are born with higher grade potential and soul spirits are those geniuses who outshine those who are in the same generation.
By this time Arbor has been waiting in line for a half hour and has seen somewhere between seventy and ninety people get accepted into the school.
A couple of grade nines have appeared, but no one with a pair of grade nines. Most have been sevens and eights or eights and nines. Obviously there has not been any tens.
"I am sure you have seen how the test works. Pick up one of the orbs and insert your essence into, then do the same with the other one. You will get your results at once and a decision will be made." The dignified elder said to the next group of testers.
Arbor walked up the two fist sized orbs that are on the table in front of him. Both orbs are clear and have a multi colored lights on the inside. The closer Arbor got, the more nervous he got. He has been reassured that will have no problem entering, but the doubts are always there for someone who does not have someone else to compared themselves to.
After taking a deep breath Arbor reached out his left hand and grabbed the orb that is on the left. Arbor controlled the essence in his body and had it flow into the orb. A second later a bright silver light shone out of orb.
"It's another grade nine body potential! Lets just hope his soul spirit is worthwhile also."
"Hey look at that kid! Maybe that can explain why he seems to be older than us. He took longer to break through to the kuwa realm due to the potential of his body."
"Wait I got a grade nine? Elder is this correct?" Arbor asked the dignified elder.
The elder smiled and nodded then replied, "Please proceed. Do not take your time."
With that Arbor grabbed the other orb with anticipation. His eye started to brim with wonder and excitement at the results of this test. His essence entered the orb and reacted with the smoke inside. This time five seconds passed by before a golden light was produced by the orb in Arbor right hand.
The small talk the area stopped. All the kids in the third area dropped their jaws and stared at Arbor. The elder's eyes widened and blinked a couple of times before he suddenly disappeared.
"Ugh, what grade is this? Did I get accepted?" Arbor said while staring at the orb.
"Elder? Where did you go?" Arbor looked at Eos who is standing next to him. Eos shook his head side to side signifying that he did not know either.
Arbor still has the orb in his hand and turned around to look at the crowd behind him, only to find everyone standing with dropped jaws and dazed looks.
"te...ten...TEN!" Someone exlaimed from the crowed.
