288 GONG XU WAS BADLY INJURED

Senja was afraid with what was happening in front of her.

Xiao Tianyao and Xiao Jun were fighting against Gong Xu along with four crescent moon members. How Gong Xu could win this fight? Was he out of his mind, to actually attack them in such condition? He was indeed had become crazy.

Gong Xu could still stand now, just because he was holding Xiao Tianyao's son and they were being careful, so they wouldn't hurt the child, but once the child managed to be snatched away, Gong Xu would be death for sure and that was only a matter of time as Senja could see there were many crescent moon member coming to their way.

Senja immediately approached Qianru who was crying at the side of the yard, which now had turned into a battlefield. She has to think of something otherwise once Gong Xu was caught he would be death for sure.

At first Senja thought it wouldn't be possible for Gong Xu to come and impulsively took Xiao Mugi, however, probably because she had been together with him for so long and being so close, she knew Gong Xu would do that subconsciously.

That was the reason why Senja insisted to be with Qianru earlier. However, she wouldn't have thought that her hunch was proved right.

Gong Xu was indeed being impulsive!

"Calm yourself Princess Xiao, everything will be all right, Prince Xiao Tianyao and Prince Xiao Jun are here, they will save Xiao Mugi." Senja tried to calm Qianru as she put herself in the open area, make herself visible, so Gong Xu would know that she was there.

It only took another minutes for them to snatch Xiao Mugi away and now Gong Xu was left without protection, Xiao Tianyao and Xiao Jun could easily kill him on the spot without any obstruction again.

At that time, Senja moved toward the battlefield and innocently approached the guard, who was holding Xiao Mugi.

"Give Xiao Mugi to me, let Princess Qianru hold him." She said while running toward the baby, but by doing so, she had to cross the yard and passed Gong Xu in the process.

Just like what Senja thought, before she could reach Xiao Mugi, someone had grabbed her wrist and twisted her body.

She could feel Gong Xu's hard chest behind her back as the long sword shone before her eyes, stuck on her neck.

She couldn't move and even though Senja knew Gong Xu wouldn't hurt her, but the tension in the air was very thick until it felt like suffocating her.

In the other side, Xiao Jun and Xiao Tianyao didn't see this coming, after all who would be so stupid to throw themselves into a fighting scene without a way to protect themselves.

Right at that moment, Elder Dam arrived with a bunch of his shadow guard.

Great! Everyone that Senja feared the most would find Gong Xu, were here to fight him.

In this situation, the only thing that held them back from attacking Gong Xu was Senja and for Gong Xu, the distance between death and life was only a single step from Senja.

"Why are you doing this?" Senja hissed under her breath while gritting her teeth, but of course Gong Xu couldn't hear that, neither he had time to pay attention toward Senja.

Gong Xu's eyes scanned his surrounding, trying to find an opportunity to escape.

"Give me back my granddaughter, or else you will regret it." Elder Dam said in low and dangerous voice, his face had turned red. He was mad because his granddaughter was in danger again.

With Senja in his hand, Gong Xu jumped off the wall while throwing two small balls that burst into white smoke, the same white smoke that he had used three years ago when he face the bandit to save Senja.

Gong Xu knew very well the route that he had to take as Senja had drew for him every single corner of this place.

Only when no one chased after them, Senja could sigh in relieved. Gong Xu had removed his sword from Senja's neck, it was quite easy for him to move because Senja didn't struggle, she knew it was him, regardless he had covered his face.

"I will leave you at the main entrance gates of the mansion." Gong Xu whispered to Senja's ear as he moved faster.

Senja nodded as an answer.

There were many shadow guard at the main entrance gates, but there were a lot of guest also there, who would go back to the village as the wedding party had ended.

This was a lucky shot, he could go through the gates silently or, if something happened and the fight broke there, there would be big chaos and Gong Xu could use that to escape.

It was critical time.

However, before Senja and Gong Xu could reach there, a dagger flew past them and grazed Gong Xu's arms, which holding Senja.

Gong Xu not yet grasped the situation when an attack was launched toward his direction, out of reflex, he raised his sword to ward off the blow, but at the same time he could feel Senja in his other hand was being snatched away.

Not only Gong Xu, even Senja was still at lost with the situation, when suddenly he was in Xiao Tianyao's embrace while Xiao Jun fought Gong Xu and chased after him when he tried to escape.

"Stay here." Xiao Tianyao ordered coldly as he put down Senja and was about to chase after Gong Xu and Xiao Jun.

"No!" Senja grabbed Xiao Tianyao's sleeves, forcing him to stay with her. She didn't think twice when she did that as the only thing in her head was how to prevent him from helping his brother, so Gong Xu could have a high chance to escape.

"What?" Xiao Tianyao stared down at Senja's hands, which clutched on his sleeves.

"I…" Senja stammered, trying to find a reasonable excuse. "I… I hurt my legs… I can't stand up…" She said timidly like a weak girl.

Xiao Tianyao's eyes drifted to her legs and frowned. "I didn't remember your legs were hit." He also didn't injure her legs when he snatched her from that mask man's arms.

"But, it hurts…" Senja whined. "Prince Xiao Tianyao, can you help me to go back to my grandfather, please?"

Xiao Tianyao was squinted his eyes, but then he complied and carried Senja toward different direction.

In the end, it was only Xiao Jun who chased after the mask man, whether they could know the motive of him to kidnap Xiao Mugi, that was all depended on Xiao Jun.

Senja turned her head to look at the direction where Gong Xu and Xiao Jun's had left, with worry expression. She couldn't help, but being nervous.

The thing that she didn't know was; Xiao Tianyao was assessing her expression as he stared at her suspiciously.

"What Elder Dam's granddaughter was doing here?" Xiao Tianyao asked Qianru, she was still shock and didn't want to let go of Xiao Mugi, so now Xiao Mugi was sleeping soundly in her arms.

"She just came to have a chat with me." Qianru recalled the reason why Senja was there.

Inside of Xiao Jun's room, there were only the three of them with Xiao Mugi.

The sun was in the horizon, but no one had fallen asleep because of the event last night.

Xiao Jun not successful to catch that mask man, but he managed to injure him badly. Somehow he managed to escape when he chased after him to secluded place in the city.

It surprised him also how he could suddenly disappeared.

But, it was still fortunate for them, as no one was hurt because of that, in spite Qianru was a little bit shock.

"I don't remember that you close to her." Xiao Tianyao asked.

"No, I am not. Last night was my first time to see her in person." Qianru thought about it. "At first she just wanted to walk me to the courtyard, but then she wanted to have a little chat, so she stayed for a tea."

Xiao Tianyao frowned, she felt something amiss.

"Are you suspicious of her?" Xiao Jun asked his brother, whose seemingly very interest on Senja. "You don't need to. A girl like her will not involve with something complicated like this. She is too young to be a suspect." Xiao Jun remarked.

But, Xiao Tianyao had something else in his mind, he felt Senja wasn't that simple.

"She is just a little girl Tianyao." Qianru nudged Xiao Tianyao as she sat down beside him.

Xiao Tianyao sipped his tea and didn't give any replied for that. His mind wandered to Senja's expression when he just saved her from that mask man.

Instead of scare, she almost felt like… worry.

"I will take a walk and see the situation outside." Xiao Tianyao stood up and left Xiao Jun and Qianru.

The fresh crispy air brushed his face when he stepped out of the room, the light from the sun gradually illuminated every part of this mansion.

Xiao Tianyao had stayed here for a year when he was younger to learn swordsmanship from Elder Dam, but he lived in the courtyard, which far away from the inner mansion. So, his chance to see Senja was very rare.

Not to mention she didn't like to have social interaction with other people.

Like what Xiao Jun said before, Senja was a quiet child and no one would have thought that she has a complicated motive neither she got involved in something like the even last night.

However, what Xiao Tianyao saw from her expression wasn't something that he could deny. Somehow, Xiao Tianyao felt that she has something to do with the mask man from last night.

Her reaction wasn't like someone who was being saved, but her expression looked like someone who was disappointed by being rescued.

Subconsciously, Xiao Tianyao walked toward the direction of Senja's courtyard, regardless he had never visited her when he was there, but he knew where her courtyard was.

And apparently he was just right, because from afar he could see the little girl with her three maidservants were walking toward the direction of the library.

When Xiao Tianyao was here, that library had not yet built, however from the rumor that he heard, Senja would always spend her time inside the library and it sometime it would be a one day straight she was inside.

"Good Morning, Young Miss Senja." Xiao Tianyao greeted her politely.

Senja was a little bit startle when she heard Xiao Tianyao's voice, she was slightly took a distance between.

"Good morning, Prince Xiao Tianyao." Senja reciprocated his greetings and lowered her head, since the first time she met Xiao Tianyao, she didn't like him, his presence alone was so intimidating.

"How is your leg?" Xiao Tianyao nodded toward her legs. From the way she walked, one would hardly believe that it was just last night that she had hurt her legs until she couldn't walk.

"They are fine now." Senja kept her head low, avoiding an eye contact with him. She would get expose easily once she looked him in the eyes. "Thank you for your concern, Prince Xiao Tianyao."

"No need to mention that." Xiao Tianyao waved his hand casually. "Where will you go? You bring many foods with you."

"To the library…" Senja had a bad feeling about this. "I will be easily hungry when I read books."

"I remember that you loved to read books." Xiao Tianyao complimented. "It happened that I want to read some books as well, probably Young Miss Senja could recommend some?"

Senja knew this was his real intention, but how she could reject him? In the other side, she needed to take care of Gong Xu.

She had not yet see him, because her grandfather wouldn't leave her alone, moreover it wouldn't be make sense for her to stay inside the library after what had happened on her, but from the information that she got Gong Xu was badly injured.
