67 Chapter 67 - Ruin of Alchemist Grandmaster

When the team crossed, the door closed behind them.

Zhu Xuan was amazed by the way the ruin was opened using the map and the lotus light hidden within it.

He turned towards Wu Qian Ren and asked "Brother Qian Ren, does all the Ruins opened in such a method using the map?"

Wu Qin Ren smiled at Zhu Xuan's query. He thought its understandable Zhu Xuan didn't have much knowledge since he is a rogue cultivator who never moved anywhere far away from Caifu city.

He slowly explained "No Bother Shen. The most common method used by the powerful cultivators to open the ruin is Ruin Key, but there are some exceptions for the method to open the ruin based on the owner of the Ruin's decision like the map, formations, by defeating the guardians of the Ruins. Using a map for the opening of the Ruin is first time for me too even though I have heard about them. It is a very dangerous method."

"Why is it a poor method?" asked Zhu Xuan.

Wu Qian Ren replied "Usually the Ruins, especially of the Ruins of rogue cultivators, are hard to be found unlike those belong to sects and clans who leave clues behind to their families. But, Rogue cultivators are usually alone and no one will know when their Ruins will be found. So they usually leave behind a Ruin Key with the location imprinted on it."

Zhu Xuan understood the reason behind it and nodded.

Wu Qian Ren continued "But, even though the animal skins can be protected using arrays, there is still a high possibility for the map to be damaged in numerous ways like during battles. So my best guess is, the cultivator who created this Ruin is losing his life due to a life and death battle and could only create the method to enter Ruin by map he didn't have enough strength or means to create a Ruin key."

Zhu Xuan asked in confusion "If that is the case, didn't that mean it was by a dying cultivator and he may not be a powerful cultivator?"

Zhu Xuan asked this because he didn't understand why they would risk their lives to fight against Meng Haoran and his team for a perished cultivator due to battle. It's not like he is an ascended cultivator or one who passed away naturally, and for all they know the ruins could have been created by just a Qi gathering cultivator.

Wu Qian Ren understood what Zhu Xuan was thinking and chuckled "I think you are misunderstanding something Brother Shen. To create a Ruin, the cultivator's cultivation level needs to surpass Qi Sea stage and what cultivators below Qi sea level stage leave behind are treasure troves with traps and formations to protect their treasures."

He smiled at Zhu Xuan and said "Now you understood why we risked our life for this Ruin?"

Zhu Xuan also understood now why they came searching for this ruin even though they knew it's a perished cultivator; One could understood how powerful treasures and techniques left behind by a cultivator above Qi sea stage.

Zhu Xuan was also wondering all this while why Meng Haoran wanted to ambush Wu Qian Ren's team instead of reaching the ruin before them and taking away everything in the ruins. Now he understood the reason why Meng Haoran wanted to kill Wu Qian Ren is because of the map and without it they won't be able to enter the ruin.

Thinking about this, he also thought of another person. He thought of Wen Xin, the traitor of the team, left in the cave unconscious and tied up, protected by one of their team member.

He asked Wu Qian Ren "Brother Qian Ren, why did you leave Wen Xin alive?"

Wu Qian Ren's face became serious and said "Meng Haoran escaped and will reach the academy. I'm sure he will spread the rumor that we ambushed his team and killed everyone else. When we return, we will face punishment for sure unless we prove it was him who attacked us and got defeated, and for that we need Wen Xin."

Zhu Xuan understood and nodded. After walking for a few minutes in the pathway, they came across a hall with a platform and a barrier behind it.

When they neared the barrier, they heard a childish voice "Everyone welcome to the ruins of Jinghua Grandmaster alchemist."

When they heard the voice they were shocked. Wu Qian Ren exclaimed loudly "A ruin of Grandmaster alchemist; it looks like we are in good luck. But I have never heard of this Grandmaster alchemist though."

One could understand the shock of Wu Qian Ren. Lei Shu academy only has master alchemists and obtaining the pill formulas and knowledge of a grandmaster alchemist will help Wu family control the alchemy business in the entire kingdom.

Zhu Xuan also was shocked. He already know the grade of alchemists in this world based on the grade of pills they can create. They are apprentice alchemists, master alchemists, grandmaster alchemists and finally Alchemy King. Each stage divided in to three grade according to the levels of pill they make; primary grade, mid grade and high grade.

Alchemy pills have a total of twelve grade and divided into four levels with three grades in each level. Zhu Xuan didn't have any knowledge of why the pills are divided into levels since his aunt told him it is not time for him to know before he became proficient in learning third grade pills. Currently, Zhu Xuan is still learning to create various first grade pills.

Suddenly Wu Qing loudly exclaimed in shock. Everyone turned and looked at her.

She calmed down and spoke "I read about Jinghua grandmaster in the records of alchemy hall in the academy. Jinghua grandmaster appeared in our dynasty capital 150 years ago. He created a pill hall and helped everyone regardless of their background and loved by all the people. Everyone thought he is a master alchemist."

"Twelve years later, a group of powerful individuals appeared in the capital and attacked him. He fought with those individuals for a day and night above the capital and escaped finally with heavy injuries. Then only news of him being a grandmaster alchemist and a powerful alchemist spread throughout the capital and shocked everyone and the news of him was noted down in the alchemy hall."

Everyone was shocked listening to Wu Qing's story and didn't expect such a powerful individual to die in this mountain far away from the dynasty capital.

The child like voice spoke after everyone calmed down "There are three hall before you reach the resting place of Jinghua grandmaster. You have to pass though three tests from three halls before obtaining the legacy of Jinghua Grandmaster. Step on the platform when you are ready and I will explain the rules of the first test."

Wu Qian Ren spoke "It looks like you have a high chance of obtaining the legacy Wu Qing. Okay alchemists in the team get on the platform and the rest will leave and wait for you in the cave outside."

When he finished, Wu Qing and another member of the team stepped forward, and Zhu Xuan also moved. Looking at Zhu Xuan who also stepped out of the team, the rest were shocked. Not just because of the fact he is an alchemist, but because he already showed two elemental roots when he rescued them; water elemental roots and wood elemental roots. But if he is also an alchemist that means he also has fire elemental roots.

They thought if he joined the academy he will directly become an inner court disciple, and he will rise in ranks quickly from the strength he showed so far.

Their thoughts were interrupted by the childish voice "I think you misunderstand me. Whoever entered the hall has to undergo the test and the one who failed the test will be sent out of the stone door."

Everyone was shocked beyond belief when they listened to the voice and their mouth was wide open with only exception being Zhu Xuan who is clueless.
