51 Chapter 51 – Zhu Xuan vs Zhu Lang

The crowd was momentarily surprised and went into an uproar a moment later. Everyone looked at Zhu Lang; even Elder He Shan looked at Zhu Lang.

Zhu Xuan wanted to pressure Zhu Lang into fight with this method because he realized he had some hesitations due to his status as a core disciple. Or else he would have asked Elder He Shan to kill him directly.

He also blamed himself thinking that he might be valued by the academy because he revealed part of his strength and he will get selected if he showed his strength in the selections; he didn't expect any foul play in the selections. He reminded himself as long as you have power and position you can do anything in this world and vowed to become stronger.

Zhu Lang slightly felt pressured from everyone's looks and felt angry that Zhu Xuan challenged him using his status as core disciple and the Lei Shu academy. But he calmed himself immediately with a cold smile.

He laughed out loudly "Eighth brother, you think too highly of yourself and become so arrogant just because you have three elemental roots."

Zhu Xuan cut him off and said "Why speak so much nonsense. You tried to kill me and humiliate me many times. If I'm not wrong, Fang Liang was instigated by you to kill me right? I will give you a chance to kill me right here right now. Do you dare to fight me with a condition?"

Hearing about Fang Liang, everyone looked at Zhu Lang, especially Fang Wu Yao filled with anger. Zhu Lang's face became blue with anger. He didn't expect Zhu Xuan would openly say it loud his assumptions. He figured it's no use anymore to act cordially and released his killing intent and asked with a cold voice "You really want to die don't you? Tell me what is your condition."

Zhu Xuan smiled and said "Nothing much, I should be selected as the winner of the selections if I defeat you."

Zhu Lang replied "Hahaha, you think you can win against me? Well, I will promise you will be the winner of the selection if you defeat me."

"Alright" as Zhu Xuan said that he jumped on the arena.

Zhu Lang also moved to the arena from the stage. Everyone sat back on the stage and Elder He Shan signaled for the start of the match.

Zhu Lang moved with incredible speed with chi chi sound by using his lightning element movement technique towards Zhu Xuan. Zhu Xuan also faced him head on and both attacked at the same time. Zhu Xuan was pushed back a bit from the attack force. He looked up and said with a smirk "Looks like you also have more than one elemental root."

Zhu Lang was momentarily shocked and said in a calm tone while exchanging blows with Zhu Xuan "I didn't expect you to see through me so soon. Yes I also have three elemental roots just like you."

Zhu Xuan just smiled mysteriously and continued with his attacks with his fire elemental Qi. Both of their movements and attacks are too fast that only people at Qi gathering stage able to see it clearly. Zhu Lang strengthened his body with metal Qi and his body was also covered by lightning.

Suddenly Zhu Lang used his other hand which was free to send a lightning streak moving around his body. It hit Zhu Xuan's abdomen and he flew back ten meters unable to dodge or defend because of close range attack. He got up with his abdomen region burned slightly. He could have used his own lightning elemental Qi to neutralize the attack, but he didn't want anyone to know that he have a lightning elemental root. Unlike other elemental roots, Lightning elemental root is a mid grade elemental root and unless it is a life or death situation, he didn't want to reveal he has lightning elemental roots.

Zhu Lang released another lightning streak but Zhu Xuan formed an earth barrier in front of him to block the attack.

Zhu Lang didn't attack and leisurely looked at Zhu Xuan who is behind the earth barrier and said in mocking tone "Your three elemental roots is just so-so."

Zhu Xuan wasn't just attacking but also thinking of an idea to defeat Zhu Lang and he suddenly got an idea. He smiled widely and replied "When did I say I have three elemental roots?"

As soon as he said that, the earth barrier disappeared and two water balls rushed towards Zhu Lang. Zhu Lang was shocked and dodged one water ball and slashed the other in two, but suddenly a water spear went straight towards his chest with great speed and he couldn't block it on time. But he wasn't worried because he has lightning protection and his metal Qi is also used as defensive body technique.

But once the water spear hit his chest, there was a loud explosion and mist suddenly covered the entire place surrounding Zhu Lang.

After few moments the mist disappeared and everyone found Zhu Lang lying down bleeding from his chest. The crowd couldn't understand where the explosion came from and why Zhu Lang is injured heavily.

If anyone was from Earth saw this, they would have known what really happened. Zhu Xuan just smiled and relaxed thinking everything went as he planned. And as he predicted, when the water elemental spear touched the lightning Qi which was enhanced and spread by metal elemental Qi moving through Zhu Lang's body, it caused an explosion and injured him heavily.

Zhu Land coughed a mouthful of blood and got up in confusion and anger. He also couldn't understand what happened and how he got injured, but he was completely angered by the fact he was injured by Zhu Xuan.

Before Zhu Xuan could initiate another attack, he used another technique and green light surrounded his body and his wounds healed at a visible rate. Zhu Lang got with blood shot eyes and shouted in anger "You have successfully angered me Zhu Xuan. I will take you seriously from now on."

Zhu Xuan looked at the Zhu Lang using his sword from the distance and had a bad premonition. He immediately used his earth barrier and also readied his sword to defend. But a blue light came out of Zhu Lang's sword and moved fast crossing the distance easily. It cut through the earth barrier like slicing butter and passed through it easily.

Zhu Xuan got shocked and dodged but it got his sides and he started bleeding. He looked up in shock at Zhu Lang.

Not only is he, everyone in the venue was shocked. Even Zhu Donglai, who was calm until now is also shocked. He already knew about his son having three elemental roots and becoming a core disciple, but even he didn't know his son practiced sword and achieving sword Qi.

Sword Qi is different from elemental Qi. It is a type of martial Qi which can be only be practiced by sword cultivators, and cultivators who could achieve sword Qi are considered as genius sword cultivators.

Now everyone finally understood why Zhu Lang became the core disciple of Lei Shu academy. Usually the ones who are qualified to become a core disciple are genius from noble families in the capital city. Rarely anyone outside the noble clans becomes a core disciple. But now considering the fact Zhu Lang has three elemental roots with one mid grade elemental root and also he achieved sword Qi, it is not a surprise he became a core disciple.

Zhu Xuan also realized that he is in big trouble and started thinking how to counter attack. While clutching his side which was still slightly bleeding, he stood up to face Zhu Lang.
