17 Chapter 17 – Returning to the Zhu Clan
Zhu Xuan spent next two days in the Inn trying to break through the Eighth stage.
He only went down to the restaurant to eat and learn information about him from Zhu clan. He learned the scout among their group who let them to the ambush and escaped, came back with heavy injuries and told the clan that Zhu Xuan died.
There was also a rumour spreading throughout the city that as soon as Zhu Xuan saw the demon beast, he abandoned his team members and ran away like a coward, and he disgraced the Zhu clan.
Zhu Xuan was confused about this rumour because he figured his second brother would spread the news about his death to scare the other siblings. But he couldn't understand why he had to disgrace him by spreading such a rumour, or is it someone else spreading the rumour. If that is the case, he still couldn't understand why anyone in the clan would do such a thing because he was sure the previous Zhu Xuan didn't trouble anyone and kept to himself and he couldn't think of anyone who would have a grudge against him.
He thought "I should find who is it spreading the news and solve this issue soon or I will have more future trouble."

They have heard about the rumours and thought he had died, but here he was alive. But soon their shock turned to disdain. They have also have heard about how Zhu Xuan abandoned his teammates and ran away like a coward. For the soldiers, fighting in the front line of a battlefield to death is a sign of bravery, so they looked down upon Zhu Xuan who ran away like a coward.
Zhu Xuan felt the disdained gazes from the soldiers but he didn't care about it and walked towards the Zhu clan. He entered the Middle wall and walked to the gates of Zhu clan.
When the guards at the Zhu clan gate saw Zhu Xuan with his emblem, they were shocked and stuttered without opening the gate "You, You… Eighth prince you are alive?"
Zhu Xuan didn't answer them and instead berated angrily at them "Open the gate. Do you think mere guards like you have the qualifications to keep me here outside the clan gate?"
He already figured with the rumours spreading, and he decided need to show his dominance a bit. If not, he will have to face endless disturbance. He berated the guards so that when people hear about it, they will think twice if someone want to trouble him.
The guards got scared, even though the rumours are spreading about him, he is still the prince of the Zhu clan, so they moved fast to open the gate. Zhu Xuan walked past them without showing any emotion and entered the clan, and walked towards his courtyard.
He opened his courtyard and entered it. It was a small courtyard with a main hall, two rooms and a kitchen. He entered the room he stayed, and found it was filled with dust. He opened the window and used his wind Qi to clear the dust out of the room.
He felt a sense of familiarity to this place. Maybe it was because the previous Zhu Xuan stayed here all his life. He laid down on the bed to rest. He have been either practising or fighting all this while since he came to this world, so today he simply want to rest.
While Zhu Xuan was resting peacefully in his courtyard, the entire Zhu clan was in an uproar. Everyone heard about the return of Zhu Xuan who was supposed to be dead. Not only did he return, he made a small scene at the entrance of Zhu clan. They remembered him as a timid person, so they were astonished to hear that he entered the clan with a headstrong attitude.
Night passed by, and morning came. Zhu Xuan woke up, cleaned himself and walked out of the courtyard towards the direction of technique pavilion of Zhu clan. The Technique pavilion is where all the Absorption mantras and Auxiliary techniques of Zhu clan are kept.
Zhu Xuan saw there were two old men sitting at the entrance of the pavilion in a deep conversation. They are the elders responsible for the technique pavilion. He walked up to the old men, bowed and said respectfully "Elders, I need to enter the technique pavilion"
The two elders stopped talking, looked up at the person in front of them. Something passed through their eyes when they saw it was Zhu Xuan, but they didn't react anymore and replied calmly "Go on and enter."
Zhu Xuan took out the Zhu clan emblem and entered the barrier at the entrance of the building. Only clan people with the Zhu clan emblem can enter the pavilion.
Technique pavilion has four floors. The first floor is the library where one can find details about information regarding cultivation like the issues one face in cultivation process and breakthroughs, and the basic information about cultivation resources and where to find them, how to identify them etc. There are also few sections with books about information of demon beast's categories, herbs, alchemy, weapons, techniques knowledge.
Second floor had techniques and mantra for Body purification stage cultivators, where as third floor has techniques for Qi Gathering stage cultivators.
Fourth floor has Zhu clan's most guarded precious Absorption mantras, high level techniques and even rumoured to have Qi Sea level techniques and mantras. Only the main hall clan elders and clan patriarch allowed entry inside the fourth floor.
Zhu Xuan's aim for coming to the techniques pavilion was to study in the library. He is lacking too much knowledge when it comes to cultivation, demon beasts, knowledge about the kingdom, etc. At least he had some knowledge about herbs thanks to his aunt, but he needs to learn more about this world first if he needed to gain a standing in here and moreover Zhu Xuan hate being an ignorant person. He set aside his thoughts and started reading through the books.
Time passed by and three days went by.
He didn't leave the pavilion for three days, not even to eat and sleep, and immersed himself in reading. After reading, he especially found two major problems which gave him a big headache about his cultivation.
First, he will need to acquire quite a lot of resources for his cultivation, and now he understood why Senior Long said it's not easy to cultivate with his Seven Phases elemental roots. He learned cultivators of body purification stage absorb the Qi not only to purify their body, but also to nurture the Qi inside their body to attack the dantian when breaking though Qi gathering stage. They will need resources and techniques to nurture their Qi. There are too many resources and in different categories.
For example, fire elemental root cultivators needs mainly Fire stones and Fire Qi pills, but they are also divided into categories of low, middle, high and peak grade stones or pills based on the amount on the fire Qi and impurities present in them. He was sure he is going to burn through gold coins and he will be always be poor how much ever gold he got.
The second problem is auxiliary techniques. To nurture the Qi in your body, you not only need resources but also techniques to guide them through specific channels that accept specific elemental Qi. And since he has seven types of elements, he needs to learn and practice seven auxiliary techniques.
Basically he needs to put seven times more work than other cultivators and he also understood now why only his fire Qi had improved whereas the other Qi stayed the same as when he activated his elemental roots. He also lamented at the fact he wasted so many elemental resources of different Qi, other than fire Qi elemental resource.
He also realised even though he is breaking through easily now, only his fire element is being nurtured, whereas the others are not. It will cause an imbalance in his body and also he will be unable to breakthrough to Qi gathering stage in his lifetime, He needs to build a stead base nurturing all his elemental Qi.
