13 Chapter 13 – Departing from Snowcape Demon Mountain

Zhu Xuan crushed the Warthog's skull and brain and it fell limp on the ground.

He sat in a nearby tree and relaxed himself. He has been running around and fighting for the whole day without break. Even though his strength was great, his mind felt exhausted. He sensed his body and found there is still lots of essence left from blood Linghzi. He is confident he will be able to reach the eighth stage with the essence, given enough time.

Next, He also run his fire Qi and found it was more concentrated than other elemental Qi running through his body. He wondered if this is because he trained only in fire elemental techniques or he is more favoured towards fire Qi among his elemental Qi's. He rested for a time it took an incense stick to burn and then walked up to the warthog.

He took its tusk and cut it near its heart to collect the blood in his gourd. But he was shocked to find there was a small demon core formed near its heart at the centre of the chest.

He searched his memory and realised this is a demon core formed when they enter eighth level from ninth level demon beast. Human cultivators when breaking through to Qi gathering stage, they gather their elemental Qi in their dantian and store them and nurture their dantian. Whereas, for demon beasts when reaching eighth stage, equivalent to Qi gathering stage of human cultivators, they form a demon core from their elemental Qi in the centre of their chest.

He exclaimed "No wonder it was much stronger than the other warthog. It already started forming a demon core with earth element. It was close to breakthrough to the eighth realm."

Demon cores are important resources for cultivators. It forms pure elemental Qi which can be absorbed, unlike the Qi in heaven and earth where you need to separate your own elemental Qi and absorb it. He took the demon core from its chest and stored it away safely.

He wondered whether Bai Ling and her uncle left, and he started moving towards the lake. He arrived at the lake and found it was completely empty with no movements whatsoever. Even the bodies of the three from Bai clan and the young master from Cai family is missing. He thought sadly, "I was only away for an hour but the bodies were already taken away by the demon beasts. I should have taken Cai Guo's bag as soon as I killed him."

He was sure the young master of a wealthy family would have definitely had quite a bit of resources with him and lamented that he missed it.

He walked to the place where Bai Ling and her uncle was fighting the warthog previously and found trail of blood moving in a direction. It looked like they were heavily injured. He followed the blood trail for few hundred meters and found both of them fainted below a tree. Thankfully, no demon beasts came to kill them. They must have been attracted by the commotion in the lake.

He walked up to them and closely observed them using his Qi and found they were severely injured, more so than him when he was fighting the warthog. He thought if he left them there they won't live for long with those injuries. Even if they did, it is already close to night and they will definitely be killed by demon beasts.

He decided to take them to his cave and heal them. He is not a saint or anything, but at the same time he can't just ignore the injured people before him and leave them to die. He carried both of them on his shoulders and started running towards his cave.

After few hours of running, he finally reached the cave. He removed the branches, and entered the cave. He put down both of them on one side of the cave, took some healing pills and helped them absorb it using his Qi and healed them. He walked to the other side of the cave and sat down with exhaustion. Carrying two people and running in the forest for few hours used up lot of his energy. He drank the demon beast blood, and closed his eyes in meditation.

Morning came. Bai Wuji woke up slowly and found himself inside a cave. Bai Ling was next to him still unconscious. He checked Bai Ling's condition and was worried when he found she was also injured heavily. He realised it will take few days for them to heal completely.

He looked at the cave closely and found some demon beast bones on the corner and wondered whether it's a cave of a demon beast. He was not sure how both of them got here and whether it was safe to stay here. He decided to leave, so he woke up Bai Ling using his Qi. She woke up with exhaustion and looked around in confusion.

Bai Ling took a few moments to steady her from the pain she felt all over her body. She looked at her uncle with a puzzled look. Bai Wuji understood her replied "I don't know how we got here either and whether it is safe to stay here. I only woke up a while ago. Take this pill and we need to leave immediately."

She took the pill from her uncle and was about to swallow it, when they both heard sound from the entrance of the cave. Bai Wuji immediately stood in front of Bai Ling in a defensive position and ready to attack whatever that came inside the cave with his life on the line.

But both were shocked to find Zhu Xuan was the one standing at the entrance of the cave with a dead demon beast on his shoulder. Looking at them ready to fight, Zhu Xuan spoke calmly "Calm down and relax. You both are heavily injured."

Bai Ling and her uncle relaxed and sat back down. Bai Wuji spoke with respect "Thank you Young master Shen for saving us again. We owe you our life."

Looking at Zhu Xuan who acted like it was no big deal, he paused and continued "Where are we Young master and how did you find us and brought us here?"

Zhu Xuan walked to the other end of the cave; put down the wolf demon beast he was carrying and replied slowly, "This is the cave I have been living for a while. I found you both unconscious a little distance away from the lake yesterday. So I carried you here."

Bai Wuji felt extremely grateful towards this young man. He understood what would be their fate is they were left unconscious in the middle of the forest.

Whereas Bai Ling's cheek flushed red when she heard Zhu Xuan carried her and looked at his face with more attentiveness. Zhu Xuan felt a gaze on him and turned to look at Bai Ling. She got flustered and turned away. He shook his head and said "You both can stay here until you heal. For now, you should concentrate on healing yourself and recuperate."

Both of them felt grateful once again, they bowed and said "Thank you Young master Shen for letting us stay and heal."

Of course the reason Zhu Xuan let them stay is not only for them to recuperate They are the people he had met first after transmigrated to Lightning Lake world. This body's original owner knows only little information about Lei Shu Kingdom and other cities under the kingdom. He wanted to learn about the kingdom, various clans and power they hold. He wanted to learn from them all these details while they were recuperating and improve his knowledge.

He simply waved his hand, and said "Don't worry about it. You must be hungry, let me cook this demon beast"

He got in front of the demon beast to cut it open and cook it.

Two days and night went by.

Early morning of the third day, three people were standing outside the cave. It was Zhu Xuan, Bai Ling and Bai Wuji. Zhu Xuan was carrying a big backpack made of demon beast skin which was filled with herbs and resources he collected while he was here. Bai Ling and Bai Wuji were standing next to him. In the two days, they were almost healed of their injuries and it was time for them to leave to Qinglu city.

Zhu Xuan turned around and looked back at the peak of the Snowcape Demon Mountain. He recalled all he went through in this mountain since he transmigrated. It was time for him to leave and he was not sure whether he will return here in the future.

He let out a sigh, then his gaze became sharp. He is looking forward to what he will face when he return to Qinglu city. He said with determination "Let's set off"
