11 Chapter 11 – Blood Linghzi
Bai Ling was flustered and gave a shy smile looking at the young man. She took his hand, got up and said "Thank you for helping me."
"It's not a problem. Let's go check on the others" and walked towards the injured people in distance. Bai Lin came back to herself and ran towards the middle aged man.
She went to him and felt relieved to find that he is not dead; he just lost his consciousness. He was bleeding from his head and chest, and looked like he had few broken bones. She gave him a healing pill and helped him absorbing it using her Qi. Meanwhile, Zhu Xuan also checked the other three and gave them healing pills.
After that, he walked back towards the dead warthog to collect its tusks and blood. He couldn't help but think "This warthog is not very intelligent, and charged at me like a mad bull. Thanks to that, and it being already injured from fighting them, I was easily able to kill it. Or else there is no way I could fight it, much less kill a peak ninth level demon beast."
By the time he collected the resources from the warthog, the others regained consciousness. When he got to them, they bowed and said "Thank you Young master for saving our life."
"It's not a problem. The sound of the battle would have alerted other demon beasts nearby, we should leave this place. There is a lake nearby, we should move there and rest for now." He said calmly.
The middle aged man named Bai Wuji, who is uncle of Bai Ling replied "Yes young master. Lets move from this place." He paused and then asked, "May I ask the name of the young master, and which family you belong to?"
Bai Wuji thought he must be a young master of a wealthy family or a clan, considering what he learned just now from his niece how he fought and killed the demon beast.
"I'm Shikong Shen" replied Zhu Xuan calmly without any emotion showing on his face and didn't say anything further. He used the name from his life on earth and inverted his first and last name.
Bai Wuji understood this young master didn't want others to know his background and didn't ask further.
They moved to the lake and sat under a tree nearby to rest. Zhu Xuan asked, "May I ask who is that young man and his group, and what is the treasure you were speaking about earlier?"
He tried to check his memory about this young man and his background. But he had no knowledge of this Cai Guo or any Cai family. He realised this group may be from one of the other two cities. Snowcape Demon Mountain serves as a border for not only Qinglu city. The Mountain is so big it also serves as a border for two other cities, Caifu city and Tanxin city.
Bai Ling looked conflicted to share the information about the treasure and looked at her uncle for guidance.
Bai Wuji looked back at her niece and said "Its fine Lingér. At our current condition, we can't go against their team and fight over for the treasure, so we might as well tell Young master Shen the details about it."
Bai Ling calmed herself down and spoke "That person is young master of Cai clan, Cai Guo from Tanxin city." That confirmed Zhu Xuan's thoughts.
She continued, "He found us at the outer edge of the Mountain and informed us he found a place where Blood Linghzi is growing, and he wanted us to team up with our group to defeat the demon beast guarding the Blood Linghzi. But as you saw, he tricked us into fighting the demon beast and went to get the Blood Linghzi."
Zhu Xuan was beyond ecstatic when he heard about Blood Linghzi. Blood Linghzi is usually grown on top of the dead demon beasts of at least eighth rank demon beast absorbing their blood and essence. Even a 30 year old blood Linghzi is enough for him to break through to seventh stage.
He was about to ask if they know the age of blood Linghzi, when he heard a loud roar and the sound of battle coming from the direction of the small hill. He decided to go check it out and to find if there is a way for him to get his hands on the blood linghzi.
"You people stay here and recuperate. I will go check what is happening" he said and turned away towards the direction of the battle.
Before they could even respond, he already ran far away.
He ran towards the battle at his fastest speed. When he was close to the battle area, he hid himself and moved through tree shadows. After moving a while, he found at the distance, four people were fighting a Warthog in front of a dark cave.
He looked closely and found that this warthog was bigger than the other one he fought, and it looks close to becoming eighth stage demon beast. He found 6 bodies around the battle and four people are fighting, three in front and one from behind. The one fighting from the back is the young master of the Cai family, Cai Guo.
He thought "The Warthog have close to no injuries and with full strength, on the other hand, Cai family group suffered such a miserable state of six dead and the rest injured heavily. From the look of it, they got ambushed by the Warthog."
He realised this was his chance. He used the tree shadows and moved around the battle area on a circle towards the cave entrance, making no sound. He reached close to the cave entrance and waited for the right moment.
Warthog charged straight at the four people, they tried to dodge and attack it from the sides. But, one person was slower than the others in dodging and got tore in two by warthog's tusk. The others eyes turned blood red and attacked it with all their strength in frenzy.
Zhu Xuan know this is the right time and dashed fast using all his strength and entered the cave. But no one in the battle noticed someone sneaked past them and entered the cave while they are fighting a life and death battle.
The first thing he experienced once he entered the cave was he was assaulted by a foul smell. He calmed himself down and slowly moved deep towards the cave, cautiously without making any sound, he was not sure if there is any other warthog living inside the cave. He walked around hundred metres inside the cave and reached a cavern the size of a football field. He looked inside and found there was no demon beast inside the cavern. He found a high mound in the centre of the cavern and walked toward it.
He was surprised and felt ecstatic to find there was actually not one, but two Blood Linghzi growing on the mound. He calmed himself and observed it closely and found five dark red rings on each Linghzi. He exclaimed "Wow, they are both 50 year old blood Linghzi."
He also found some herbs used for making pills around the mound. He carefully removed the Linghzi and then put it in his pouch. Even though he wants to consume it and breakthrough immediately, he know he can't do it right now. If the warthog comes back, he will be in deep trouble.
As he made sure there were no other precious resources or herbs in the cavern, he walked out of the cavern towards the entrance of the cave in high spirits.
