40 Psych

Inside a circle of watching students, two students were facing each other in a calm manner.

"Hello noona, please go easy on me."

"I will get you back for that comment of yours a week ago."

One of the students had Snow White hair that went to her shoulders. She had a face that was beautiful and friendly. However, in her hand was a katana that gave off an anything but friendly vibe.

The other student had pure black hair that covered almost the entirety of his face. However, you could still see the black bandana wrapped around his left eye. A white pendant lay across his chest. He had a bow and quiver sling across his back and a old sword could be seen on his left hip. A couple daggers could be found in his right side pocket.

"I don't know what you are talking about."

"Yes you do, don't lie to me. I know you have eidetic memory."

"..."

"So what are you going to use? Your sword or your bow?"

"Since I'm going against you... it doesn't really matter doesn't it?"

"Hohoho, you're right."

Carona held her katana up to her eyes with the edge facing upwards towards Ark.

"I'm going to obliterate you anyway."

"That's not something an attractive girl would say."

Carona froze and shuddered. She gave Ark an intense glare.

Ahhhh. I pissed her off real good.

The teacher raised his hand.

"On a count to three, you will commence battle... three... two... one... start."

Carona wasted no time and used flashed.

At this moment, Ark realized he fucked up.

Carona was no amateur when it came to fighting. Plus she had a staggering power level at mid rank 3, two ranks higher than Ark. Plus, she had basically almost mastered flash.

Ark couldn't see Carona move or disappear, he had no time to plan. He was too slow, too weak, and too fragile when compared to Carona.

It would be a miracle if he lasted more than five minutes.

Ark relied on pure instincts and high level calculations and predictions to survive.

Even before he could see her, Ark bended his back backwards and got as low as he could.

Ark felt a slight wind pass his chest and realized that Carona's katana had already cut through the place his torso had just been.

God bless his insane reactions and super intellect.

(Dusk) Yet we still got eaten by a chicken.

Shut it.

"Hahaha, noonim is trying so hard I'm starting to feel scared. May I please request a plea of surrender?"

"You can't surrender, and I wouldn't let you if you could."

Another flash of a blade and both Carona and Ark disappeared and reappeared ten feet apart from each other.

"Please noona, I getting really frightened..."

"I don't care, just stay still and die."

"WHO WOULD EVER AGREE TO THAT."

Ark disappeared even before Carona moved. The difference in ranks made it so that Carona was incomparably faster than Ark. The only way to survive was for Ark to blink away before Carona could strike.

"As you can see, Carona is using flash to instantly accelerate towards an enemy while slicing her blade. This causes an incomparably fast slash that is very difficult to predict and block. The other student is doing the best option possible. Running away before she cuts."

That makes me sound like some coward.

Carona let out another devilish smile.

"You sure are pretty good at dodging."

"I don't need that compliment, just show me some mercy please."

"Nah."

Carona put on a serious face as the held her blade next to her hip.

"Be careful, because from now on, I won't show you mercy."

"... shit."

Ark readied himself for the worst. The two ignored the crowd around them and silently stared off.

Suddenly Ark saw Carona twitching and immediately cast a short blink spell.

He disappeared from his spot and materialized somewhere else. However, his left eye started to twitch.

He looked towards his original spot and there was a deep gash about three feet deep. However, Ark realized something bad. Carona had disappeared again.

"I'm behind you~"

Like the devil, Carona slashed towards Ark's back. Ark let out a scream but then laughed.

The sliced up Ark faded away as another Ark appeared some distance away.

"... illusionist?"

"Yes, but seriously noonim. Have some mercy."

However, both of them disappeared at the same time and played a very dangerous game of tag.

"HOW ARE YOU RUNNING AWAY FROM MY SWORD! I'M FASTER THAN YOU!"

"IT IS THE POWER DEDUCTION AND SHORT RANGE BLINK! HOWEVER I'M ANOUT TO RUN OUT OF MANA SOON!"

"HAHAHA, LETS SE HOW LONG YOU LAST!"

"CAN I SURRENDER? I DON'T WANT TO DIE AGAIN!"

This scene continued itself until suddenly Ark came to a stop. Carona immediately reappeared beside him and swung her blade horizontally. Ark fell on his back to dodge the blade and the two stared at each other.

"Well done, I didn't expect you to last that long, I want to spar with you again. It might help me improve my deduction abilities."

"No."

"It's decided, you will be my training partner."

"No."

"I'll teach you the way of the sword?"

"No."

"I'm going to find you, and you will become mine. No refusing accepted. Don't make me force you."

"Can anyone else hear this? Isn't she threatening me in broad daylight! Anybody?"

The crowd stared at the scene with incredulous expressions. Confusion at the behavior of the second strongest student and surprise at how long the freshman has lasted.

Ark timidly glanced at the girl that stood above him while he was on the ground.

"I... I will agree, so can you please not kill me?"

"No, you will die today, and die to me later. Over and over again."

"Please, I will obey you."

Carona tilted her head as if in deep though.

"Ok, I'll let you live."

"Oh, thank you-"

"Psych."

The next thing he felt was a sensation that felt like the world was spinning and blacked out.
